Exodus: Become the Traveler Livestream Highlights

Anyone interested in the game should give this clip a watch.

They discuss main character, game structure, choice and consequences, and a bit about companions. You get some feel for the dialog, too.

They compare the game structure to ME, Kotor, and DA:O. Choice and consequence sounds robust and includes time dilation effects (e.g., returning 10 years later to the effects of your choice). You take two companions at a time (similar to ME), with romances possible if that's your thing. Looking good to me.

I didn't like much how the characters looked in the reveal trailer but I am hopeful that the game will be good, the people behind has talent and experience

There's a book, too, that I just heard about. It's called The Archimedes Engine, by Peter F. Hamilton. I'm not usually into SF (in book form), but I might pick up a copy.

Holy crap, it's 928 pages long. Well, maybe that's not for me, then. I will read shorter novels, but it would have to be a masterpiece to devote that much time to it. It's getting good reviews on amazon, though, fwiw (4.6/5).

Oh. Thought there was a new livestream. This actually tempered my expectation when I first saw it. The lore, game structure and choice and consequences sounds great, but saw none of that in the actual gameplay. Mostly just linear action, which was not what I was hoping to see.

Wonder if we get a release date this year. Outer Worlds 2 and a mass effect successor at the same time.

Fwiw, guys in the comments section suggest a release date reveal next year, with release in late 2026. That's just speculation of course, but it does seem that the game is a couple of years away still (maybe a bit less).

Which is fine with me. I want them to take their time, make it good.

Yeah, I guess this is highlights of a longer livestream, one I missed. They just posted this on the official site, so I figured it was new. What is new is the highlight reel aspect - they pulled out "best bits" for those of us who missed or didn't have time to watch the full stream.

I hadn't heard any of the commentary about game structure, c+c, companions, etc., before, so that was interesting to me. I also appreciated the snippets of dialog I heard. It sounded pretty good to me, which is a relief after some of the RPG dialog we've gotten lately.

Yeah the voice acting is pretty good. At this point I'd love to see some uncut non-action gameplay and exploration. Hope that's what they do next.

Still doesn't look as cool as Mass Effect, but best wishes for them, hope the game ends up being good.
