I wasn't totally on board when they first announced it but that trailer really sold me. And if they are actually pushing it past the switch release then they are really polishing the hell out of it to make it perfect. But I am a bit of a nintendo fanboy.

I still play them, just not as often back in the PS1 and PS2 eras. I play Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, etc.

Prey looks great. Arkane make gud games and the System Shock, Deus Ex, Dishonored influence is evident. Not entirely sold on the aesthetic, but I'm very keen, and much of my enjoyment will come down to just how deep and agency driven the game system exploration is. Would be happy with something along the lines of Dishonored, and it appears to be steering in that direction.

Death Stranding looks surreal so I'm very interested. Aesthetically unique and attention grabbing. I'm sure the dialogue will be dumb as all mighty fuck. Still want to know how it actually plays as a video game. And still kinda convinced it'll never get released and instead just consume every publisher that tries to pick it up.

Breath of the Wild looks good. I'm already sold on it though so I don't really need to see any more. Definitely a bit concerned how it'll come together as a whole. Nintendo is leaning in the right direction and I have faith they'll pull it off, but the open world direction is absolutely a risk. Different design, but Skyward Sword has obnoxious elements (like the stupid crafting) feeding in influenced from other games, I just hope Nintendo doesn't shit the bed in that regard. No matter how it turns out it'll probably be the comfiest game in a long while. Cute rainy day game.

Mass Effect looks like Mass Effect with open world influence. I'm so suckered and entrenched in the series that I'll buy it regardless and the combat looks like a lot of fun, but Andromeda remains the most unfathomably poorly marketed game of AAA status that I can think of in recent memory. BW/EA's marketing arm has no fucking idea what they're doing with promotional material. It's so unfocused and incoherent.

this week was a nightmare and for all the wrong reasons; our audit which should have been horrendous was super crazy wonderful short and cruisy and he had positive feedback to give us, but the workweek itself was balanced out by abusive clients and meltdowns, and too much overtime
i have some nice beers to unwind and dishonored 2 to finish
tomorrow i'm heading out to see mad max: fury road blood and chrome at an old cinema
maybe some christmas shopping

I came up with the Appleseed and first GITS mangas and I liked them both (mainly for the art, which was brilliant). Later I got a another GITS book -- I forget what it's called -- But it's basically just softcore porn masquarading as a science fiction story. Male characters are barely seen at all and we mainly just get panel after panel after panel of scantily clad or nude women in sexy poses from leering angles. It's astonishing.
