F1 2015 is looking FANTASTIC

If you played Codies other F1 games then youll probably be less enthusiastic, this is coming from a hardcore F1 fan.

I like them, easily put 100 hours into 2013.

They have flaws, but I can live with those for the benefits from being an official f1 game. The Formula A stuff in pcars is a poor replacement really.

It looks nice, but doesn't sound too hot feature wise. I kinda wish the F1 license could go to a publisher that actually has money.

It really does.

Haven't heard any negative impressions either, looks like they totally fixed and improved everything from their past F1 games.

I dont really see that happening. EA and Sony gave it up, Activison had Bizarre Creations and didn't get it. What other studio do people imagine stepping up and paying Bernie's stupid amount of millions for it.

a lot of the previews have mentioned how big a jump up this version is, and not just graphically. sounds like they nailed the handling and physics

They really need to release official gameplay footage.

Got to speak to the devs at a Namco press event a couple months back.

At these things publishers usually trot out a few producers or genuine members of the development team, and everyone is usually (obviously) very positive about their game and happy to spend time talking about it.

I've been doing this as a part time thing since 2006 and I've never seen anyone more hyped about their own game than the two guys from Codemasters. Incredible confidence, and they firmly believe they're making the best racing game of all time. They made me actually give a shit about a game I had no real interest in.

Playing it a bit later was fine. Collision was a bit weird and getting wheels stuck together was a problem, but that stuff usually gets ironed out.

I dunno of it'll be any better for the non-F1 crowd, but its poised to really speak to its audience.

I wonder why there isn't more promo material showing the game in action, especially since the preview implies it's in a good state. For a preview that ends with a link to buy the game on Amazon.com, I'm sort of raising an eyebrow here.

Any mention of tyre wear changes?

A couple of years ago tyres only wore in races that were greater than 50% distance, has this been changed, so its scaled in shorter races as well?

Will wait for confirmation to see if they fucked up the assists again.

Which is super generous of me.

Will probably have to wait for decent reviews from users.

Eh, catching up on Codemaster's previous track record of unoptimized releases and poor if not unexistent post release support i'll hold off on this one for a while

Mhh the game will release in 9 days.

Still no real gameplay footage?

No hype, no advertising....silent release?

"It's also fairly realistic: Maldonado swiped me off the circuit in one of my races around Singapore."

Hahahaha. I want to play this now.

Microsoft?

Even as a massive F1 fan I can see that the sales are unlikely to yield all but the thinnest of margins. And that's with it being multi-platform. I can't for one moment think it would be worth it for Microsoft, despite me loving the prospect of T10 getting their hands on the licence.

Going forward, Bernie might be better to pimp out the rights more cheaply, but non-exclusively, so they can be added, fully-licensed, to Forza, GT etc.

Here is the latest TV Trailer:

60FPS?

Man, this looks damn good :)

Yeah, however it's 900p on XB1 to keep a respectable framerate (1080p on PS4). I can't remember where I read it but the framerate is unlocked on both platforms but will run at 60 for a lot of the time. I think it's mainly for their astounding wet weather effects that will put strain on the systems.

The AI is still driving in one line, one car after the other, into corners, allowing you to dive past multiple cars under breaking... :-/

in nearly every racing game I've played including gt, fora and the other f1 games the AI seems to always brake super early and you can just pass them by late braking, and it's safe to do so most of the time.

the only hard part in f1 was weather, the AI drives in it like its dry.

This will be the games biggest problem I think.

But I really like the return of live commentators doing the races. First time playing F1 97 with a commentator commenting on your driving and what was happening on the track was brilliant.

They should hire Geoff Grammomd as a consultant and have an optional full simulation mode.

I'll take my 5% commission for the idea Codemasters.

Played all of them except 2014 as I was waiting for the next gen version, being 2015 on PC. That gif of Singapore looks amazing.

I've actually liked all the F1 titles Codemasters have done, good balance between arcade and sim for those of us without wheels.

That doesn't sound good at all about the unlocked framerate. Gonna have to wait for the patch before I buy.

Day one because I'm a mug.

Hopefully it'll hold it's own. The tuning and AI will be key. If those are wrong can ruin an otherwise great game.

What makes you think it'll need a patch? It's the way the game has been written and I'd probably say the current-gen systems aren't capable of running F1 2015 at 60fps locked without a significant graphical downgrade in the wet-weather races.

This is a good video regarding F1 2015, and I think Darin from ISR covers some interesting points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkO4Gqbhafo

I'm not overly hyped since I've been disappointed in the past versions but since I skipped F1 2014 and 2013 I'll get this since I need my F1 fix.

More like 0.000001% since everybody's suggested that since F1 2010.

The game looks okay OP, doesn't look too different to previous years so I won't get as excited as you. Hopefully there's a demo I can check out closer to release.

Will wait to see if it's worth buying. Not bought this since 2011.

Also haven't seen much of the game but wasn't really impressed with what I did. Looks like same old core game.

The crowd noises in the ISR vids grow tiresome after the third time. Hope there's some variance or other options. Crowds normally react to something or grow in noise if something is building up and its only at certain tracks. In this every time you pass a stand the same loud crowd starts up.

I tried playing F1 2012 (i think?) and I just couldn't get into it. I will have to keep an eye on this though as I do like racing F1 cars around in Forza and Gran Turismo.

Any info on tracks? Weather?

Hope I'm able to buy a PS4 in time.

Really hoping that a new, purpose built engine will revolutionise the online experience and help take the series from good to great.
