F1 2015 is looking FANTASTIC

Cars has its own set of problems but lack of features/content certainly isnt one of them.

Yeah...I wanted to have a nice formula one racing game to play everytime the F1 weekend starts and was holding out for F1 2015 since I thought it'd have local co-op.

Damn, no splitscreen makes me want to not buy this at all. Was honestly only considering this for the local multiplayer. Might go with Project Cars instead.

Different games but so far I'll be playing project cars much more. Also there is still no way to race custom public lobbies? You can race friends only, hopefully this will change Friday.

I've watched a few streams on Twitch of people giving Pro Season mode a go. Definitely won't be going anywhere near that until I consider myself god-tier
which will never happen
- everyone is getting destroyed, AI are reckless too.

When will the reviews come in?
I feel like it will average around the 7 out 10 mark. It's still a ok game but I was really hoping for the feeling I got playing F12010. Think reviewers will pick up on the missing features, I will say that the new pit track monitor is really good being able to watch cars online as a spectator when in the pits is nice.

Worth noting that I've just seen someone playing on PS4 with what looks to be the D1P. New McLaren livery is in! No updated aero kit though.

We can, but you'd need a colossal impact to do any kind of damage. It's looking really poor from what I've seen of people driving at Monaco with full damage.

Damn :/

I just want a full blown F1 sim with all assists off and a career mode to progress through from F3 to F1 world champion.

That's all I ask. :I

I'm happy to hear that the AI is more aggressive though. I don't want them to be easy, I want there to be a fight for positions.

From what I've read/heard there's a lot to be improved on though.

Hopefully they're planning on adding in the missing features and fine tuning the game.

Sounds like PCars, bar the licensed cars and tracks.......

I am currently in F3 (FC), on my way to F1 (FA), after doing karts, superkarts and Formula Rookie (Formula Ford).

The lack of options in season mode for number of laps, qualifying and practice session is really annoying. I like doing 25% races and to do that I have to do one shot qualifying and only have a 15min practice session. All the options are available in quick race so I don't know why you can't do whatever you want in season mode.

What's the damage model like in the game?

Can we totally wipe out our cars? Wheels off etc?

Here is one crash where wheel comes off.

Yeah I know, but if both of them are missing it, might go for project cars simply cause it seems to have a good career mode in f1.

pcars has career progression, but it's not that deep either. You just choose from a couple of offers from identical teams in each tier at the end of a season.

Plus the regulations suck. No safety car, debris and shit like cones stays scattered on track in racing lines even, AI doesnt receive blue flags, and the pit stops are awful.

Ah damn, the regulations stuff is pretty concerning too. I guess i'll have to watch a few streams and reviews to make a decision. It's hard to be a gaming F1 fan. I basically just want a game like the F1 ps2 games and I'd be totally happy with it.

The F1 2006 PSP game had more features than F1 2015... I don't know whether to blame FOM or Codies.

I imagine a current gen game takes a bit more to make than a psp title though.

They're just fucked by budgeting and time. The f1 license isn't cheap and they've got to have one out each year like other sports games. Even EA has had feature losses at the start of a generation.

It'll be nice if they support it well with patches, but then they've got to move to building 2016 up for next year.

True :P

Red Bull posted an interview yesterday with Paul Jeal (game director) and he said that Career mode isn't in this year but hopes to have it next year, main reason being "we felt like we weren't able to put career mode to the level we wanted".

Surely they could have at least put it in exactly the same as previous games and then wow us all next year with huge improvements?

They've expanded a lot on the presentation, with the full face models of all the drivers, podium ceremonies, etc. It wouldn't be just a case of making it the same as previous games - they'd need a driver creator system rather than just 'your name here'.

I can understand that if that's the way they want to take it for future iterations, but to just wipe the mode from existence seems rash given how many people have already said that the mode is a dealbreaker for them. I think they could've (or should've, take it either way :P) recorded a few default names like previous Codies games and given the player's character a default appearance and selection of custom helmets (again, like previous games).

I think F1 could benefit from a bigger version of what dirt rally is doing, release a base and work on it for the year, i'd take a 2016 season DLC with new cars, updated tracks and other things for a price then having to fork out £40 again for a game with missing features.

I decided to buy since I had $30 left over in my XB1 Singapore account. It's installing now at 20% and it should have unlocked since its now the 10th in Singapore but I had the same issue with Batman a few weeks back where I had to wait until the 11th. If it has unlocked I'll wait until its 'Ready to Star't and post some screens.

Also the OT is ready. Just waiting on some reviews to be added.

Nice! Hope it does unlock for you though.

Regarding reviews, all I've found for now is this from Top Gear. Not much of a review.

No career mode. No season challenge. No rival system. No online co-op. No champions mode. No classic content. No split screen. No functional safety car. No motorhome. No paddock. No TV interviews... The list goes on.
DAMN

sure, but no one else is doing that either with their officially licensed sports games. MLB, NFL, FIFA, etc. They all release games each year as required by the licensing.

It has surprised me how much people valued this system. I imagine it has surprised Codies too. I never thought the career mode was all that compelling - if it had been reduced to simply having your name in there instead of one of the drivers, I might not have noticed.

I'm curious to see what they've done instead - from the improved presentation you'd think they'll have justified the change in some way, to the extent that I might prefer to play as my favourite driver. After all, if the idea is to simulate the season, why would I be involved? I'm not a pro driver. Being able to use your real name in multiplayer is where it is more important - presumably you can still do that...

it was just a fun immersion thing even if it was just a repeating locked season of that year. They didn't have other driver changes, the german GP track rotation each year, and you changed teams just by beating a rival. Mercedes offered me Hamilton's seat and he was just gone until I moved again, not great. I'd love something like the first Grid or even Nascar games where you climb the ranks and earn sponsors or whatever, but FOM is strict with everything and seems to squash fun.

but even without all that, I'd be fine with just a great racing F1 game. It's the first release on current consoles, every other sports game seems to get cut down when they do too. I can just do a barebones season if I have to.

DAMN

One of the biggest problems I have with the core driving is just how much corner cutting you can get away with. I'm all for taking a bite out of a kerb to see if you can cope with the instability that causes, but as long as you don't put all four wheels off the track here you won't be penalised, which means you can easily cut many corners with half the car or more and get away unpunished. That doesn't look very attractive, but online is going to be full of people doing it so you'd better get your corner scissors out. Exacerbating the problem, the kerbs feel way flatter than they look, and are about as threatening as a kitten compared to Project CARS' ramp-like humps.

soft kerbs and corner cutting still, if I remember right the only time using the kerbs was risky was in wet weather and no where else.

Also why is he calling the xbox version 1080p? or is the review playing both consoles?

It is quite interesting to me, I don't give a crap about most of that stuff.

My requirements, is the handling good? Is the online good?

Done.

Career mode is good in games but with FOM's guidelines the lack of doing something similar tto what we did with NASCAR and have your own team and then add sponsors etc and buy new parts can't be done.

I'm not sure, nothing has stated that the D1P ups it to 1080p so maybe the reviewer is misinformed. Everything else in the review refers to the Xbox version (controller, Kinect etc.).

As long as the kerbs aren't as deadly as F1 2010 I'm happy, corner cutting will be a nightmare online though.

Will be buying this. Championship Season looks fun though you can almost see the script in front of Anthony Davidson as he speaks.

losing stuff sucks, but it happens in sports games. They've also added some neat things that people have been asking for like viewing other drivers' camera, better TV style presentation, and online practice sessions. The AI looks tougher too.

Echoing my thoughts EXACTLY. And thus, my interest ends....

Would have been great to have Brundle on board. Man is the GOAT.

Had my first race at Australia with the Merc. I pushed the car as hard as I could and had no slip ups. Felt kinda easy to say it was Hard. I was really thrashing the car into the corners. Lap time was 1:29 without any changes to the car.

60 FPS is so much better especially on consoles. I did play 2012 at 120hz but thats a few years ago.

Second race in the wet. Does feel alot different to the dry. Old games to me felt you just had no grip when breaking yet this feels more slippery even on the straight with a slight movement on the wheels.

McLaren at the back as well. :lol
