Fable Coming Day and Date PS5 [Andy Robinson states that he "imagines" the game is coming to PS5 day 1. It is not confirmed]

why wouldn't it? When is the last time Xbox has tried to compete as its own thing?

At this point it shouldn't be a shock to anyone. It would be more of a shock if it didn't.

Andy: "Fable is day and date, that's what I've been told."

Also Andy: "Day and date, I would guess imagine it's day and date."

I mean, with the Series console install base completely flat-lined, what would be the point in not day and dating PS5 at this point ( a question I'd apply generally to all future Xbox games). I imagine the next Forza and Gears E-day will also be day and date.

This hasn't been confirmed at all. Expect everything from MS to be everywhere as if it's an Ubisoft title. Maybe later on Switch 2.

It has.

Q: Earlier this year Forza Horizon 5 was released on PlayStation 5. Will Forza Horizon 6 also be coming to PS5?

We're thrilled to be taking players to Japan in Forza Horizon 6, which will launch first on Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC in 2026. With the excitement for this franchise on other platforms, we also have Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios working together to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation 5 post-launch. For now, players can Wishlist on Xbox and Steam, and we can't wait to share more details on Forza Horizon 6 early next year.

Hmm weird, it has multiplayer, that if anything would benefit from a big audience.

Considering PG has been working on fable for a longer time, this was probably handled by a smaller team. Putting another platform development would have either delayed the release or effected optimization.

FH5 delayed release still sold pretty well on PS5 so they're probably not worried about the reception a few months later.

They have to make there money back somehow. There's no way that releasing a game with a development length as long as this one was going to make profit releasing only on gamepass/xbox day 1

Yup at the end of the day Xbox is a business.

Would make sense if they had a new console out. It'll sell badly on Series X, it'll mostly be useful as free advertising through Gamepass gamers playing and talking about it.

Didn't he say "I imagine it's day and date".

I call BS on my post being edited

Andy Robinson- "Fable is Day and Date, that is what I have been told"

He qualifies it by saying things "could change" and "I imagine". Which is just to protect himself because it is still possible Microsoft could change strategies, like they have all generation. But it is very clear that Andy Robinson was told day and date

That's not confirmation.

This isn't a day-one release confirmation for him; in fact, it seems like it's all a gamble based on the logic that the possibility exists as long as a PS5 version is considered a certainty.

Personally, I think there are signs to both expect it to happen and the opposite.

The surprise, almost last-minute delay annunceament of the release date to 2026... could very well be a consequence of wanting a simultaneous release with the PS5 version, which will have more time left.

But there's also the fact that there hasn't been any reported increase in staff at Playground (Fable team). It's also an open-world game, very susceptible to glitches, bugs, AI errors in NPCs, etc. The optimization and porting time to a new platform requires more extra time than in other types of games. I doubt Microsoft is interested in releasing a poorly optimized and unsuccessful PS5 version that would generate negativity and affect reviews.

I don't know, no possibility would surprise me because everything is open.

Fable has been in trouble probably since it's inception. Supposedly they were still hiring lead devs (I think for gameplay if I remember correctly) at the beginning of last year.

And knowing Xbox... They are willing to release broken, unfinished, unpolished... Shit games like they are the biggest deal in the universe (Crackdown 3, Halo, Redfall, Forza etc..)

So, I can see MS mandating a day One release on PS5... Just for financial reasons. Especially with the death of Xbox and complete exodus this year... A PS5 release (even if means one last delay) very well be the only chance for this game to make money.

If it's technically impossible
... 😬

Nah the war isn't over, it's just transitioning to console vs PC, it's been obvious for awhile now. Watch how core PlayStation fans talk about PC and Windows, and how core Xbox fans talk about PC and Sony delaying PC ports. And Steam Machine is a new challenger, console warriors from all sides will show their true colors when that one launches, Gabe will go nomnom on everybody's cake very soon.
That still means the console wars are over.

Hilarious that anyone believes steam machine will do anything. It's can't even play some of the top gaas games and is going to be more expensive than all consoles.

Eidos Montreal was also working on Fable. It isnt just Playground doing all the work

I'm an old Fable fan, so I'm tentatively optimistic about the game. Playground is a good studio, although I'm sure they've had a steep learning curve and some challenges along the way.

I'm hesitant based on the trailers I've seen so far, though. I hope we will see extended gameplay footage during the upcoming showcase.

Oh, I'm sure part of the delay was to ensure the most wide release possible. Unlike FH6, Fable is a new rebooted property that can benefit from every player and platform possible.

I mean, guys, MS is just 3rd party publisher now. This is how it works.

Yes, but Eidos has been helping for years, since before MS started the Latitude project.... The team dedicated to Fable was for several years no more than ~150 devs (~120dev for Forza Team) which was clearly not enough for the scale of the Fable project.

PS. For example, FH5 PS5 Port needed and was made for a Third party indi/support Studio.

It's true. Druckmann immediately lobbied for it upon seeing after gooning to the protagonist.

So we have two possibilities:
1) he does have information but he realized he shouldn't have said that yet and tried walking it back.
2) he pulled it out of his ass and he's trying to cover himself.

That's not qualifying. That's ass covering weasle with words. What's the point of posting these rumours when Microsoft is going to probably announce it in two weeks?
