Man the timeline is a design cluster fuck. Facebook seem to be doing everything they can to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Lucky for them Google+ isn't anything to write home about on the design front either.

Facebook is really f*cked up for me today. Won't let me view notifications, expand comment threads...and a lot of other stuff. Anyone else?

There is malware going around Facebook where adult material (porn) is posted on the walls of individuals without their knowledge (nor can they see the actual post on their wall). If you see anything on my wall please do not click on it and give me the link to the post (by clicking on the time it was posted, it should give you a URL to the specific post)

is there any easy way to permanently delete all of your messages?

I've been clicking the "X" but apparently that just archives your messages. And to delete it, you have to go to each message, hit the drop down menu and individually delete them. Very time consuming... so I hope there is an easier way!

there's a "delete all" option for archived messages. I found it within a couple seconds

edit: actually, you don't even need to archive them first. just click your message in your inbox, hit the "Actions" button and hit "delete all"

but that deletes all the messages in one thread (i.e. a conversation between you and another). I want to delete all the threads (without having to delete each thread individually)

It's kinda annoying how the timeline, hides posts/places I've been tagged in after new activity is on the page. It's not visible on the timeline anymore. I probably have to wait to next month to see a summary of this month. Ugh, I don't like how that is done.

Edit: Hey, everything is back! Well, whaddayaknow. Let's see how long that'll last.

Click the X or arrow in the upper right corner of the story. There should be an option to block it.

Check every now and then. Everyone should have it by the week.

It's ridiculous how when you delete photos they're still online. I deleted some and when I paste the url into my browser it still shows up. Worst thing about facebook.

I published timeline, I looked back at my first year on FB, had to hide/delete a bunch wall posts lol

I joined in March 2006 but there is very little activity until December that year

So now everyone can see every single place you've checked in on the map. Totally creepy. Any way to hide this? I can't find any privacy settings about the map at all.

Go to view activity - you should be able to manually edit them from the activity log (then, for ease of sifting through all your check ins, go to the drop down menu and choose "posts with location"). There might be a toggle on/off switch for showing check-ins like there are for apps, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

1. This is freaking me out.
2. Going to take some time to get use to.

But this is exactly the reason I like Facebook and why they have continued to thrive, they are ALWAYS trying something new. Myspace stayed stagnant until it started dying, then they started taking ideas that had already been implemented elsewhere.

One little weird thing I've noticed. Looking at old posts makes me feel like a loser because it was before you could comment on wall posts and other comments. So going way back, and all I see are a bunch of statuses with no comments. Haha

Facebook has changed so many times, I barely remember what it looked like in 2007, 2008, or 2009.

Yeah, it's really cool looking at first but then you start using it and realize it's kind of a mess. I got it the day after it came out and it really does have an issue with being hard to follow. I think eventually they'll put all the posts on the left and augment it with some other type of information on the right.

Eventually they'll force us to but that could be a month or more depending on how the roll it out. This change is now everyone can see it (don't need to be a developer) and anyone can choose. So currently both profile coexist.

My thoughts on it are: I like the cover image but hate every other aspect of it. I'm all for the concept of watched, read, listened etc but the fact I understand that currently to do those things you're using creepy big brother 3rd party apps for external websites kind of turn me off and makes it feel like a dictatorship of "you've not listened to music unless you're using spotify" (and you're not using spotify unless you use f...).

Oh and two column really, really, does not work on pages of infinite height.

This Timeline update has borked my privacy settings.

I've kept my Friends List private for the last few years. Now, when viewing my timeline as other people, I can see that my Friends List is public to some people, even though I double checked and my settings are set to keep the Friends List private when viewed by everyone.

This sucks.
