Facebook username link thingie in a few

I went for first name last name without the period. I like how now when I type my name into google my facebook is the second link.
 
I have a very uncommon last name and I got hate mail from 2 random weirdos that I am glad are not part of my family...

I've never met anyone with my last name... but they're out there, and they are all criminals... not even joking.
 
I got firstnamesurname cos the letters of my name look right that way, its also my twitter name so its cool.

gutted that my first name was too short :(

but firstname.surname also goes to me currently, which is interesting!

just been told the . is irrelevent, makes sense.
 
I went ahead and picked my favorite Woody Guthrie song: Vigilante Man.

Now, let me break it down for you wizards.

What this allows me to do is, when somebody asks for my facebook name, say "VIGILANTE MAN." This will immediately cause people to believe I'm a badass.

I intentionally avoided using my full name, because I don't want it to be *quite* that easy for somebody to track me down, e.g. estranged family members, people who have grudges against me, etc. I wish I could make google not find my facebook profile though.
 
I am the only me in existence.

There's something awesome about that.
 
Urg there are 4 people in the US that are named the same as me I feel i must eliminate them and take there stuff since it does belong to me, with them having the same name as me >:).
 
Screw Firstname Lastname; unless one or both are quite uncommon it seems more trouble than it's worth. Initials are even worse. Yay, now my username contains 6 less letters, and more people accidentally run across me when looking for someone else that they actually know!

EDIT: Jesus shit. I knew "Joshua Slone" was common, but I did not think that I would find 3 other results from Northern Indiana on Facebook alone. @_@
 
I knew a guy who had the exact same first, second and last name. A few months older than me. We went to the same school! We were in the same class for a mixed year 6/7 class! High School too! Oh the fun times we had when they called the wrong parents.

We have absolutely no relations whatsoever, and my parents did not know of them until we started going to school.

My facebook name was stolen by some dude in the US. The "How many of me" cites 61 people with the same name.
 
Sorta OT but is it possible to see what time you added a friend on facebook? I apparently accepted someones friend request but I dont remember doing it.
 
I'm glad I got my first name for my username, and apparently I beat someone (who shares my name) to it by mere seconds.

Some guy with my name on Twitter was complaining how he was ready to take the name but then suddenly it became unavailable :lol
 
wtf.. I tried for firstname when the service launched and it wasn't available so I took firstname.lastname

When I goto facebook.com/firstname now I get nothing though

I got just my last name. It's not that common, but I'm surprised I got it if they started this at midnight. I think I logged in around noon the next day.

And people saying you are getting hate mail for taking a name. PLEASE post some of these. haha.
 
A guy took ceres. Kind of weird. I had no plans on using it anyway since I keep my facebook stuff as private as possible. Besides, I'm my me.
 
I'm just hanging on 'Loading' when I put in a name that works. Anyone else have that trouble?

Edit: Was my work firewall or something, I managed to do it through my iPhone. I thought about using my real name but that could be trouble later down the line.

Make your facebook page not public. That's what I do, prospective employers can't search for my name either. Just friends wanting to see my beautiful face.
 
Does anyone else's friends not pop down automatically when you start typing their names in the search? wtf, that was the only way found other friends' pages...
