cause if they really wanted, they would just check the region of the IP address...
Or did you trick it through a proxy?
I know they can check for IP addresses,
as it's the reason I got my account back after a highjack a few years ago.
Their security measures have gotten better since.

You can use a VPN, no problemo. Lots of people in the Steam thread have been doing it for games like Stick of Truth and people in the Titanfall thread have been doing it to grab cheap Mexican copies of that game.
