Trash, trash, trash, more trash, Yumeiro Pattiserie, Kobato, trash, trash, more trash, Blue whatever, Darker than *yawn* Black, more trash.

summer 2009's been quite good...looking at the list, fall 2009 appears to be a letdown...

will watch Railgun but that's probably about it :/

Well as far as I'm aware the only long-running-Shonen-animes-based-on-a-manga on air right now are:

Conan
Sgt. Frog
One Piece
Naruto
Bleach
Gintama
Reborn

So yeah, I guess Reborn is the youngest of the current crop.

Damn there aren't many. I know D.Gray-man was an anime for a while but the author had to go and get sick or plagarize stuff or whatever she did. Hopefully Fairy Tail can survive until the manga actually ends.

Darker than BLACK is the only real definite for me.

We'll see about anything else. And I'll probably end up watching Inuyasha for some reason unknown to myself.

Sasameki Koto
A 15 year-old girl is secretly in love with her female best friend.

Is it me or this looks awfully similar to Azumanga Daioh?

Lack of Kizumonogatari makes me sad.

Will check out cat thing, Kobato and the Oedipus complex.

This year outside of Guin Saga, Umi, and Ippo has been awful for me. Thank god I discovered some nice stuff from 1-2 years ago (been watching a lot of Zettai Karen Children)

Will watch Darker than Black 2 if the 13 year-old girl only plays a small part.

Another awful season. That makes six straight. The anime industry is on a roll! W00t!

I like a girl who can handle a sword. I'll look into it.

downloading Darker than Black season one now. i have a thing for... large caliber sniper rifles... yeah, i'll go with that >_>

hmm, despite the clearly annoying shota (just look at that cheerful, yet slack jawed look!), i'll look into it. Ever since Rune Factory Frontier, I automatically love mail carriers.

TOTALLY watching.

Massive step up from summer season.

I'll be watching:
Darker Than Black 2 : Fuck yeah! I just hope bones doesn't scrimp on the action scenes.

Fairy Tail : FUCK YEAH! Hiro mashima is my favorite author and it's gonna be fuck awesome. Not to mention Tetsuya Kakihara finally be GAR again.

Kimi Ni Todoke :In Production I.G + shoujou?A winner for me.

Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu Purezza + Nyan koi : I could go for some brainless harem.

To Aru Kagaku No Railgun: I for one enjoyed it's long dialogues for index so might as well watch it this since it's Mikoto.

D. Gray-Man's author got injured. Twice. D.Gray-Man is coming back, but as a monthly volume a la FMA (which is still running).

Man, was I pissed that the D. Gray-Man anime just abruptly ended like that, no closure or much sense to any of that, then I checked the manga and apparently they caught up with the manga pretty well and it didn't have any closure at that point anyway. I'm going to have to finish this series in manga form only now I guess, but damn only once a month updates? Bah!

If it's anything like the other monthly mangas, I'm sure she'll increase the page count to 40+.

Although given her injury record, that might not come to pass, even.

I'm gonna check a lot of shows. Sasameki Koto being animated makes me happy. I'm liking the manga chapters I've read so far and I'm interested in seeing how the adaption turns out (I've become a yuri fan, I guess).
I hope fall will be like summer for me, lots of fun/funny shows to follow.

Certainly, of the sequels I'll pick up DTB, NnA. For the others, these interest me: Sacred Blacksmith, Kobato and Todoke.

I'll also take the chance to re-iterate that I want a Moyashimon second season.

Probably just DtB2 and White Album 2. I'll check out Blue Literature too, I guess.

From what I've seen of Darker than Black 2, I'm not really sure about it. Pretty disappointed they changed protagonists, since I don't think I'm going to like this new one as much as Hei.

Watching: Inuyasha, Mahoromatic (I've seen almost every episode of InuYasha, dubbed, on Cartoon Network, and the first two seasons subbed as well... I'll watch this. It's not a great show, but it's okay. As for Mahoromatic, I watched the original two seasons, they were decent if not great, and it's just two episodes. Why not.)

Maybe (maybe watch an episode or two and see if it's worth continuing): Kämpfer, Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra, The Sacred Blacksmith, Tegami Bachi, Sasameki Koto, Kimi ni Todoke, Shin Koihime†Musou, Fairy Tail, Queen's Blade, Kuuchuu Buranko (... I like fantasy stuff, so I'll probably at least get some of these, but actually watching them... for some reason I usually struggle to get myself to watch anime, even ones I like. I mean, I haven't even watched the last two episodes of Slayers Evolution R yet for instance, and that's a great series... I'm not expecting to be much better at actually watching stuff on this list here. Oh well.)

... So yeah, I predict thinking about watching a few episodes each of that stuff in the maybe list there and then never getting around to most of it. :)

That's what I don't get. Apparently it takes place very soon after DtB1 and it follows the protagonist from the last series...so I'm not really sure what the point is of the new girl besides adding some additional "moe" crap into it. I'd like to think BONES wouldn't try and sink the series (which, if I recall correctly, was pretty bleak and violent) into the same shitty hole as most anime shows.

A little off topic but I need advice from you guys. I'm a big fan of NANA and BECK animes, while bored I was looking for something similar to these shows and to my surprise I found out that the writer of NANA wrote another manga called Paradise Kiss and it has an anime show too. Also, the same studio that made BECK (Mad House) is behind it. I said to myself this is like the best of the two worlds joined together. Well, after watching the first 4 EPs of Paradise Kiss I think I was wrong. The show is so dull I can't believe it.

So my question to those who saw it do I continue watching it ? will it become better ? is something interesting going to happen later ? or the this anime just sucks and I didn't know ?

I loved Paradise Kiss from the get go, I doubt it'll get any better if you aren't digging it. It's definitely laid back, I can understand someone being bored from it.

I know this looks like just another moe moe shoujo-ai nonsense, but original manga is quite amusing (and bit touching too), probably the most interesting out of all manga adaptations this season from what I've read.

Will look into:
Kuuchuu Buranko - Looks like paterned insanity.
Fairy Tail - Characters meant to look like One Piece people? I joke :lol
Blue Literature - Due to character designs.
Kimi ni Todoke - I like the look of it.

Was interested then not:
A Certain Scientific Railgun - Really love the art of the screen in the op. Then had a looksee at what it's all about and decided not to watch it.

Trapeze is the only show for me.
Going see how this season goes overall, before i proclaim it 'shit'. Summer season surprised me with bakamongatari and tokyo m8. And, the first episode of canaan being surprisingly good, sadly the rest wasn't on par with that first episode.

Goddamn, that looks like a piss poor line-up. Only anime I'm looking forward to is Break Blade but that doesn't even have a date yet.

Thanks for the new season thread, 7th! I'll be checking out:

Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra - I'm not entirely sold by the promo video, but the concept is entertainingly weird and if the director and script writer have worked on some dogs they've worked on some decent shows, too. So, we'll see.

Kimi ni Todoke - The Ring schtick is pretty stupid - get a haircut if it bothers you, kid - but it's PIG, it looks like a nice romance series, and there's a veteran screenwriter involved, so I'll happily give it a shot.

Darker Than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini - I'm still mildly annoyed that they felt the need to make the heroine a 13 year old girl, but what the hell, it's more Darker Than Black and I found the trailer to be reassuring.

Blue Literature - Literary adaptations? Sure, why not? I just downloaded the 1992 adaptation of Run, Melos! so I should probably watch that, too.

Kuuchuu Buranko - Yeah, this probably will be the show of the year.

Some other comments:

I have no idea what to make of Tegami Bachi, so I suppose I'll watch at least one episode, even if it positively drips that creepy shota vibe. Or, maybe not.

I'm glad that Astro Fighter Sunred is getting another season, even if I never got around to watching the first series. It looks fantastic and I'm going to watch it someday, I swear.

I never got around to watching Natsu no Arashi either, so I dunno if I should be pleased that there's a sequel or not. Anyone got any thoughts on that one?

Index was crap, but To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is about a railgun! Or, at least, it has the word "railgun" in the title. That's worth something, right? Right?

Shows like Sasameki Koto always make me think the same thing: "I love lesbians/More than anyone/So why don't lesbians love me?"

So, that's five shows that I'm looking forward to, more or less. Yeah, I can't say I'm completely overwhelmed by this season just this minute, but I suppose any season with Fairy Tale and more Inu Yasha can't be called terrible. It just ain't for me.

You should watch the first and be delighted it got a sequel.
It was a really fun and enjoyable show.

Yeah, I echo Lain's sentiments here, I really enjoyed the show. Episode 8 was the funniest 24 minutes of the year in my opinion.

HOLY SHIT, a KOBATO anime? That came out of left field. Did CLAMP even finish that series?

Running monthly in NT still, so very no.

Trapeze will be excellent, Blue Lit will be flawed but interesting, Kobato will be cute (never the same outfit twice!) and covers dinner once a week. Also Hidamari special and Zan SZS OADs. Not the "oh god Shinbo and Imagawa and Nisioisin and Nagai all over my face" of summer, but there's still value there.
