Thanks for the new season thread, 7th! I'll be checking out:
Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra - I'm not entirely sold by the promo video, but the concept is entertainingly weird and if the director and script writer have worked on some dogs they've worked on some decent shows, too. So, we'll see.
Kimi ni Todoke - The Ring schtick is pretty stupid - get a haircut if it bothers you, kid - but it's PIG, it looks like a nice romance series, and there's a veteran screenwriter involved, so I'll happily give it a shot.
Darker Than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini - I'm still mildly annoyed that they felt the need to make the heroine a 13 year old girl, but what the hell, it's more Darker Than Black and I found the
trailer to be reassuring.
Blue Literature - Literary adaptations? Sure, why not? I just downloaded the 1992 adaptation of
Run, Melos! so I should probably watch that, too.
Kuuchuu Buranko - Yeah, this probably will be the show of the year.
Some other comments:
I have no idea what to make of
Tegami Bachi, so I suppose I'll watch at least one episode, even if it positively drips that creepy shota vibe. Or, maybe not.
I'm glad that
Astro Fighter Sunred is getting another season, even if I never got around to watching the first series. It looks fantastic and I'm going to watch it someday, I swear.
I never got around to watching
Natsu no Arashi either, so I dunno if I should be pleased that there's a sequel or not. Anyone got any thoughts on that one?
Index was crap, but
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun is about a railgun! Or, at least, it has the word "railgun" in the title. That's worth something, right? Right?
Shows like
Sasameki Koto always make me think the same thing:
"I love lesbians/More than anyone/So why don't lesbians love me?"
So, that's five shows that I'm looking forward to, more or less. Yeah, I can't say I'm completely overwhelmed by this season just this minute, but I suppose any season with Fairy Tale and more Inu Yasha can't be called terrible. It just ain't for me.
