And watch it be more timely than ASOIAF!
Oh, huh.

Okay okay. Point still stands. just 10 years earlier.

Unless someones wants to tell me LOGH was based on a story written by some guy in the 1800s then I'll stop complaining.

I did too. Although I called it 'furry shit.'

To be fair, I check out JC Staff shows. They're usually shit but sometimes you get a gem.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Sorry. I'm one of those saps who'll watch Index 2.

Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo: Anata to Koibito

Exactly, but as you might be aware there are not that many people in this very thread that legitimately follow such a method. All I can say is that it has made me enjoy anime and manga much moreso than when I was left to my own devices years ago.

It's strange because that's how I watch anime nowadays anyway. It's one thing to have recommendations for older shows, but for new shows you just go in by "intuition" and hope for the best. Previews don't work for games and certainly don't work for anime.

I was told those were side stories so I would be relatively safe in looking into them. I want more Bungaku Shoujo but the next release is in January. And then the one after July. : (

I imagine novels must take a lot more time to do than manga anyway. :lol
Given that they're doing OAVs and a movie, I'm surprised there isn't a TV series to follow.

I think I read an angry blog somewhere that hated on that because it ended with the girl seducing the other girl in order to bang that girl's brother. That must be the niceboat ending of yuri. :lol

Jesus, what kind of roundabout path is that? Or is it even worse than I think and the brother's got some kind of sister complex and only a threesome with his sister would work for him? Ugh. You know, these thought's never would even have entered my head before anime.

Star Driver
Kuragehime
The World God Only Knows
Bakuman
A Certain Magical Index S2
Yosuga no Sora
Fortune Aerial
Shinra Tantei Yakumo
Starry Sky
Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru

I'll be giving these the 3 episode test

Only in Japan.

Yeah, dealing with the yuri only crowd is annoying. Probably why I ignored working on Yuri series when I was in the translation scene.

I pick new shows by recommendation. And in the case of new season the 4chan /a/ list.

Example. I seem to be the only one so far listing...

Otome Youkai Zakuro (JC Staff)

Manga adaptation by JC Staff. Supernatural alternate-history story that deals with the relationship between fox-eared female youkai and handsome government officials. It may have character designs by the artist of the Utena TV show, but it is sadly still directed by Chiaki Kon.

Why did I pick it?

+1 Pastel colors and possible romantic storyline. Usually indicates a Shoujo
+1 Fantasy/alternate universe setting (animal ears/tail have always been a staple in many fantasy shows, so it doesn't bug me.)
+7999 Utena character designer

Could it suck? sure. But there's enough there to make me give it a shot.
I've read a bit of the manga and it was okay. It's a seinen manga, but feels more like a shoujo. It seemed interesting enough to read/watch, but I'm not really expecting much.

Unless the show really interests me or is a can't-miss title, I usually wait until the show has aired for a while, see what the opinions are, and marathon to catch up. This usually means I end up not watching a lot of shows in a given season.

They've made like ten zillion shows, it's kinda hard to encapsulate all of their work into a single category like "good" "great" etc. For every Azumanga Daioh, Toradora, and Excel Saga there's Ikki Tousen, Sky Girls, and Zero no Tsukaima (oh god I regret listening to my friend's recommendation on that one, kill it with fire).

How much of JC Staff's stuff is original anyway? After all, any given adaptation will only go as far as its source material allows in quality.

I think they've always just done adaptations. At least, I remember someone criticizing them for not being 'brave'--but it's obviously working out for them.

Or stay behind and treat everything as old, using others as guinea pigs.

Season doesn't look bad at all.

Then again, I can usually find something decent enough to watch every season.

Utena wasn't an adaptation.

My Sister Can't Be This Cute
gonna watch this for the inevitable "nii-nii".

A TV series was on that fake list awhile back. : (

Hey Hitokage if you feel like adding things to the appropriate sections here's some trailers. Additionally Shinra Detective Yakumo -> Shinrei and Fortune Aerial -> Arterial for the titles in the OP. Maybe you can add a nice little picture for Arakawa as well : )

The World God Only Knows

Milky Holmes

Index 2

Letter Bee: Reverse

Samurai Girls

Sora no Otoshimono: Forte

Arakawa's PV is pretty amusing for those that watched the show.

They did Utena so they can't have always only done adaptations.

No episode is complete with Deep and Insightful commentary from Kircheis or Lohengramm.

I suppose I do that with the shows I dismiss unconditionally for whatever reason. I'm sure I'll probably watch Sengoku Basara at some point because of Dresden. :lol

That about sums it up. :lol
Although I found it funny that someone described Aoi Hana as a troll on lesbians. I suppose I can certainly see why... I mean, you'd probably never see a story about a guy who seduces another guy just to get to his sister anyway. Gender and sexual politics are always fun!

Oh god, I hate seeing this now.
It was always funny to me that J.C Staff did both Mahoraba ~ Heartful Days and Maburaho the two shows that always seemed to confuse people on which was which because the names look fairly similar.
This was totally me when they where airing. :lol I liked Mahoraba ~ Heartful Days ~.

OP is still filled with too much retarded opinions and not enough information on the series.
I use to do an anime blog where I'd so season previews where I'd post a picture, synopsis and link to all the promo vids avaliable on youtube. Sadly I can't do that anymore since the internet sucks here in iraq, just downloading fansubs is a 24/7 operation >.>

Submitter should just link to chartfag and link to a few of the dozens of blogs that do a proper season preview with PVs and proper synopsis.

I was going to make a thread on how anime girls from the 00s are so much better looking than the 80s and 90s but got lazy.
Do it, it would be a fun image war

At least Lohengramm and Wenli's strategies make sense.

1500 years into our future Wenli still thinks of Napoleon. That's probably justified since he loves history but it's a pretty SMH moment.

It still confuses me. I know what both those are, but have no idea which is which without looking it up.

I wish there was a equivalent to the NicoNico seasonal anime previews for the Japanese impaired. Those always seem so complete in pretty much all you'd need to know.

Screw Skip Beat, I just want Strike Witches to get a third season so I can have the inevitable discussion over how season 3 isn't any more perverted than the first two and that they were all equally lewd.

I realise that this sounds pathetic to the LOGH marathoners, but I'm finding it hard to muster enthusiasm to watch the last 8 or so Macross eps.

Is it worth my while ?

Do you <3 Hayase Misa and h8 Lynn Minmay? Of course you do. Watch it.
