lol

You guys get huffy over the silliest things. It's like you weren't there when the generic tasteless shit for anything gets popular.
I thought SAO was the worst thing on the internet since child porn.

But after episode 3, it just become average anime shit.

I feel happy!
One movie I never watched before, one I already owned on DVD and love. I need more Ghibli stuff on BRD yet though.

I need more Ghibli on BD, even if the UK BD's have all been tampered with to some degree.

Accel World man. Accel World.

well, SN has a very different mood to it than Zero, because of immature, stupid characters. still I feel it's a bit inconsistent between the two. Shirou, Saber relationship is really... uh. I agree, UBW has a better Saber.

Saber is actually pretty cool tho, I mean main complain to her were his bitchiness and talking too much. But She's actually pretty silence and obedience like stereotypical Dandere.. Shit became mess when she's disagreeing with something, she won't stop.. I think that much are consistent in Zero and Stay Night.

She's pretty cool in UBW when she got along with her master and got nothing to bitch.

Rinne no Lagrange S2 09:

I've officially forgotten why I ever enjoyed this show to begin with. Was it actually ever better than this? (don't answer, Envelope) Did I ever actually enjoy anime? The summer season made me forget what it feels like. I can't be so jaded by everything when I don't even have particularly good taste, because that just makes me an asshole. And I don't want to be an asshole :( Need Shinsekai Yori ep. 1 desperately.

Plot note:
So Dizelmine wants Space Tiger's head after all? Fine, I guess. I guess that makes episode seven retroactively slightly less stupid. But only a little.

You may have a growing case of the monocles.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
SAO constantly espouses the virtues of archaic family structures, where the men are the providers and women belong in the kitchen, where children in need of nutrition and education are left to whither in orphanages unsupported by the government.

Is this really acceptable in 2012?

I'm Haly, and I approve of this message.

Sure she got torn the fuck up in FZ but who careS? shes cute and has awesome power.
Plus she makes a REALLY good figurine. Saber is lovely.

The show started off strong or at the very least decent. I enjoyed the whole election aspect and the sheer ridiculousness of the school. but when the drama started invading everything turned into trash.

I dont understand, the show started strong with drama but then when the show finally focused upon that most gripping things from episode one and even tying in how in real life drama can affect election, you thought it went weak and bad?

I dont know, I thought it was tied in well to making elections way more interesting than they are irl, and quite fitting for school with over 6000 students and billions of yen flowing through it doors, they even have factions.

Way too poorly made for that.

Space Brothers is truly greater than the sum of its parts. It has more heart than just about any other anime Ive seen. Other than production values, its pretty solid. But its also a long running daytime series so the low budget is kind of understandable.

I think the word you are looking for there is condemn?

Yeah I was thinking that too. Just by acting a certain way a person is condoning it.

I dunno... is AW really that bad? As bad as SAO? I find that hard to believe...

what if i told you that it might or might not be in contention
I would not be surprised. Although I think Oda Nobuna should be #1.

The hate is too strong with you man...
I don't despise the show anymore! It's just bad!

SAO. Wrong for Anime. Wrong for America.
SAO. It fucked it's sister.

It was pretty neato. Good tone, good pace, and the jokes hit right. Can I say it doesn't look as nice as Hyouka? I don't think it really achieves all the same stuff visually. Didn't like the OP or ED, but at least the OP is visually interesting I guess.

It also doesn't use fucking still frames for fighting.

To be fair, that technique is well known throughout anime and widely used.
I do agree that its a REALLY cheap way to show a fight or action, but its pretty standard.
Personally I vastly prefer sakuga.

Accel World is awesome.
Maybe thats because I like most of the characters, but it was a lot of fun.
I marathoned most of it and it was a rather easy watch.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes 039

LotGH in a nutshell.

Also in this episode: Julian being all moé and budding into adulthood while Yang's all like noble and shit.
The amount of death flags waving over his head is worrisome
.

Also also: fuck next episode previews. :/

Well, not all dictatorships have to be corrupt!

I'm Haly, and I approve of this message.

Haly is aligned with the radical liberal anime agenda trying to destroy traditional anime family values in this country. Haly voted against SAO over 99% of the time and was graded F by National Right to Glop. We can't trust him to protect Aincrad's founding principles.

I like it but it just doesn't exactly set me on fire. I also can't think of a slower show this year. Even without thinking very hard I would place a few shows ahead of it.

I guess taking a two week break in the middle of watching it pretty much left me with it's all drama, all the time. While there was drama at the start, it was basically shoved away and stashed as foreshadowing that you really don't give a second thought to.

Maybe I just don't care for drama when I'm expecting something else.

AW reached that point where its excuse for a "plot" is so vapid and shallow, you can easily overlook it and just enjoy the fights, of which there are plenty.*

SAO, on the other hand, still tries to push its heavy-handed "plot", without providing any alternative means of enjoyment such as aforementioned fights.

I have seen a single episode of AW.

Chuunibyou seems to have different aspirations. Its not as detailed as Hyouka, but it looks much more active. We haven't really seen enough of the actual show to determine if the quality has truly dropped precipitously or if it just looks mediocre in certain scenes. I mean, it hasnt even aired yet!

SAO genuinely made me angry and despise Japan on a Parish-level though. Anime has to work really hard to get me to feel that way.

The wish fulfilment in AW is truly on a whole new level compared to SAO - you can tell it's a later work because the author has really refined his craft in the worst possible areas. It's pretty amazing.

But I thought the fact that the dude was Cartman was supposed to mitigate that.

Or is it just an even more cynical ploy at reaching new depths of otaku-depravity?

Yep! Now if only Cross Days got some attention...

Cross Days was pretty boring to actually play compared to the previous two, but the concepts amuse people when described in summarized form, so maybe a compressed 12 episode anime could be made into something fun.

He knew the right pander buttons to push, that's for sure!
But the show seems to flow better than SAO does, although some of that has to do with the well done battles.

Seriously, I'm reading the manga and it's already insane. An anime about it would just be on a whole new level.

Also, it would perfectly troll Makoto even more. lol

It feels more like an attempt to move away from having a mary sue for a lead, but Kawahara just couldn't help himself and things happened and a volume later it was a full blown harem again.
