Is EoE really a "middle-finger" to the audiences? It delivered what anyone would expect of Evangelion: inventive direction, explosive robot action, military porn, claustrophobic atmosphere and lots of character drama. The bland Rebuild movies are the real "FUCK YOU" to people with taste.

If the Rebuild movies are a 'fuck you' to me then I can deal with it. Atleast Shinji has a ballsack now.

Meanwhile, the male hetero audience...

You've convinced me.

Yup. It also gave us a more complete picture of the story that was already told.

Nope.

Shinji always had a ballsack. The new Shinji is no different.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo - 01

Considering how I'm already watching the ridiculous brocom show OniAni, I might as well give this one a shot. This decision was not influenced by any whipped cream gifs whatsoever. That being said this show is absurd, lewd, and random as hell. And I'm ashamed to say that I'll continue watching it due to my weakness to man-hungry older women (Sensei~<3!). Here's hoping Chihiro-sensei gets her moments to make the moves on the MC.

I don't know why, but I think I'm finally getting tired of the shows that are perverted for perverted sakes. I just feel like the jokes have finally played themselves to death. Not sure if others feel the same.

With all the funnels and multicolored beams and shit Nanoha was pretty much Gundam, anyway.

Yeah Nanoha is a way different show than Madoka. It plays the genre far more straight for one thing, although it adds its own twist to it in some ways.

Can someone explain Evangelion to me?

I've seen the show but then theres Rebuild and End of and all this other stuff and I'm fucking confused. Are they just remakes to milk it or what?

Is jaded-and-tired-of-the-'otaku' Mr. Anno the best Mr. Anno? Lets see (http://www.gwern.net/docs/eva/1996-newtype-anno-interview). He wanted to end it all for good.

well not really...yet

Neon Genesis Evangelion -> 26 episode TV series
Evengelion: Death -> Feature film recap
End of Evangelion -> Alternate re-telling of episodes 25/26 in theatrical format. Considered the true end

Evangelion Rebuild -> Some shitty remakes

End of Evangelion is a movie that provides an alternate perspective of the last two episodes. If you've seen the series but haven't seen EoE, you need to rectify that pronto.

Rebuild is a theatric reimagining of sorts that is carving its own path.

Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb 2

Sae found to be a shameless pervert...again.

I would also like to add that it's strange seeing peers actually drawn in these days. Coming off of Season 1 and 2 recently, I can't help but comment on it.

Season 1 vs. Season 4

Miyako's still the coolest starving artist around.

I don't know why I recalled Nori and Nazuna being at the bath house before this time. It was easy to assume, I suppose. Also, the "yuri levels" in this were exceptionally high here compared to the average episode. It's not something I actively search for or desire, but it was hard to not capture some of the moments here. Anyways, more Hidamari and Yuno wanting to take on the position of those before her.

Good times.

I'm pretty sure it's very deliberate. He even clearly divided the film in the same way that the show was divided - robot action followed by weird psychobabble.

Everyone has personal limits on things. I stopped reading Detective Conan once I got tired of similar setups into mysteries and I'm slowly getting tired of reading Hayate no Gotoku because I feel like the jokes are starting to wear on me. I'm sure that some people grew tired of them long before I did, and I'm sure that there are some who will continue reading them after I've stopped. It's probably the same with you and perverse shows.

I'm always saying about this about Original Eva vs Rebuild.

What so special about Original Eva in the middle way? its just another mecha series with episodic filler like episode, what make the originals was so special was 5 last episode + EoE. That make everything worth it. I save my reservation about Rebuild is shit compared to the Original until I'm seeing the end game.

I'm enjoyed two first Rebuild movie than 13 first episode of Original, the last part of it + EoE though.. its almost impossible bar to pass. And Rebuild is confirmed as not shit that worth to be make if just hindrance memory of that.

The Light of El Cantare
Accel World 01:

This is all duckroll's fault.

Kawahara wish fulfillment taken to DA NEXT LEVEL. Brain Burst actually looks legit awesome. Why the hell is the world suddenly
a 1984-esque police state
, though? That certainly........casts an uncomfortable pall over events.

Also, Haru is a better protagonist than Kirito, no question. He's not any less of a viewer insert, but he's way more entertaining, and entertainment is the one thing I don't feel when watching SAO. I expect great things out of the virtual adventures of this little spherical person.

Haru is more likeable than Kirito.

I agree. Although I dont much like his appearance he is an interesting personality for a protagonist and has good hilarious.

Brave 10 - 1

Well...girl runs into guy that saves her from trouble.
You don't see that everyday.

The music is atrocious and the dialogue doesn't help.
However, the fight in the first half wasn't too shabby. It wasn't great, but easily the best part of the episode.

Will things get crazy? Can the two main characters get any more bland? Will Saizou ever get more food?
All these questions and more to be answered!

It's unfortunate because this implicitly means you're not enjoying Kaibutsu-kun, but I approve of the slow Code:Breaker revolution occurring in the thread.
That's not so say that I don't like Kaibutsu-Kun, it's just that I happen to like Code:Breaker more.

You're getting Mad Pierrot to watch something over this right? You're not just watching it on your own are you?

Are you?

Except the fanservice actually serves a purpose other than playing for laughs in Pet Girl as opposed to My Little Sister. Even the whipped cream.

[Code Breaker] - 1 & 2

The most entertaining show of the season.

Ringing praise!

I don't think Nanoha was ever nearly as popular as Madoka.

Certainly Madoka is wildly successful, but in the sense of being magical girl franchises aimed at an older male otaku audience and being popular enough to receive multiple remakes/spinoffs/sequels in the form of manga/movies/audio dramas/TV shows, I think the two are comparable. (The first season of Nanoha was even directed by Shinbo!)

K-ON!! - Episode 16

You know what the fans like? The implication, if I didn't know any better, I'd be inclined to say the Asuza has a little crush!

Jun is awesome, she is reminiscent of Ritsu, but it much more adept in the subtle art of trolling. I continue to love these divergent episodes, and if the last Asuza-centric episode was inception, this would be groundhog day, as she tries to prove that the light music club actually do something. Yeah, good luck with that!

Like Mio before her, Asuza was far too serious for her own good, so it was about time she eased up a little. The puppet-master Jun tries to make her see the error of her ways, by pointing out that her indoctrination by the band is a good thing, well, underneath all the jokes. Yui is the great leveller once again, and is on hand to deliver another succinct pearl of wisdom.

A wild boy appears!

Overall, the quality of these episodes has just increased exponentially, and it's now easy to see why many swear by the second season. It would be easy for the episodes to become formulaic, so I really appreciate just how much they continually toy with the make-up of the show.

I'd just like to clarify that I'm not engaging in some nudge nudge, wink wink School Days stuff here, Code Breaker is very entertaining. It's also ridiculous, but rather than winking at the audience the show takes itself very seriously, which just makes everything better.

Best scene in the whole episode.

Is Tari Tari about cute girls doing nothing?

I dropped it 5 episodes in. It is about cute girls pursuing their love of music and horse racing.
I feel bad since I've watched 13 episodes of SAO, the entirety of Accel World, all of Kokoro Connect, and 9 episodes of IS. Despite having better writing, Tari Tari is just dull.
