Is EoE really a "middle-finger" to the audiences? It delivered what anyone would expect of Evangelion: inventive direction, explosive robot action, military porn, claustrophobic atmosphere and lots of character drama. The bland Rebuild movies are the real "FUCK YOU" to people with taste.
Yukihiro Miyamoto has been on Twitter lately talking about wanting a SZS S4 (do we call it 【死】・絶望先生?), but that's mostly because he's best bros with Maeda-kun who's pretty much out of a job now that Kumeta isn't drawing anything and wants to give him some work on Starchild's dime.
If I'm remembering the SBS section correctly from the manga volume, that episode is based on something Oda cut from the manga to get Rogue Town in time for the 100th chapter or something.

Yea I thought it was kinda neat, it also reminds me of a few other neat things One Piece filler did which I wish it did a lot more of. Some of the "filler" arcs were adaptions of the short stories Oda tells in the chapter cover pages. (mini buggy was one of them).

Boy, I haven't heard a question "public dress" in an anime for quite a while. I guess you can always count on a rifleman that does not appreciate all things "lewd". Yes, Kakei makes wacky faces whenever witnessing Isanami slobbering over Saizo. It's nothing amusing, but anything to take screen time off the "Oreki" of the group or the other one is fine by me. This assembled team is called the Braves by Yukimura and Saizo doesn't want to be labeled as one (perhaps one of our baseball fans can make a fitting joke out of this).
Half-way through the episode we finally get a fight scene featuring an inferior Marluxia. After capturing Isanami, he shares his ultimate...fetish. Bahahaha! She then tells him that he's not normal and he then whacks her in the face. I know I'm simply writing a summary at this point, but the interaction of Crazy Guy™ + Damsel in Distress™ was amazing. They even poke fun at each other's lines in the episode!
There was some more action, but it was average fare. The events afterwards are straight from the books.
Saizo defeats the enemy, but Isanami stops him from striking the final blow because "Killing is wrong." Bleh.
That aside, the entire middle section was hilarious(ly bad).
Final note: Sucking written characters into your eye is weird, Rokuro.
Someday. I was curious where I left off all those years ago and it turns out it was in the 80s which is crazy as I never watch shows that far, or at least I didn't used to.

This thread has poisoned me. Old Emilie would hate all the fanservicey boob bounces in Saki but I don't really mind any more. I'm losing feminist cred fast.
So after some recent impressions I decided to watch the second episode of this because I figured that, hey, maybe I was judging it too harshly the first time. Nope, it's still a massively bland and uninspired pile of suck.
Based on these findings I can only conclude that Jexhius has either lost it or he has a thing for really youthful MILFs.

Or he just doesn't have much experience with shows like this, thus making it seem fresh to him. I mean, comparing an incredibly standard setup like "popular female" to Utena alone makes me think that.
