You bought the BD? Wow. Dedication, right there.

Since it was a Bandai Entertainment release I figured I might as well buy them now while they're still readily available. Though I suppose a rescue down the line/direct Aniplex rerelease (lol) is not out of the question given the forthcoming movie.

Ikuhara's direction really make this song so much awesome.

The scene with Taichi really makes it stands out and my favourite scene of all.

Dammit guys i'm away for half a day and i have 5+ pages to read ? this thread is quite active.

They will. The whole point of this reboot was to give Togashi a ton of lead time before they catch up. They will get there and it will be glorious. Imagine watching the whole arc, week to week, with no hiatuses. It will be amazing.
Hell yeah ..chimera ant would have been perfect without hiatuses ..Yorkshin/spider arc is still my favorites .. but Hxh better exist until they get to the
Hunter Election
arc

Ahem. I think there's been a misunderstanding here. I wasn't saying that if I were a Campione in his universe that I'd have made out with my younger sister, not that I'm saying I wouldn't either in that ridiculous situation as I'd clearly save a family member's life if possible even if I had to do something gross like kissing them, but anyways, what I was saying is that if I were the pander baiting soft core porn author writing books for people that think there's not enough bad writing in Fifty Shades of Grey that I'd have made the main character kiss his sister by the fifth volume. Might as well just check that box you know?

I mean, I actually really, really dislike this show, more than the usual bad shows I watch. For one, while I am not morally against harems, polygamy and the like and theoretically even find the concept "hot," it's like a paradox because I'm not attracted to a woman who couldn't control me enough to keep me from other women, so, yeah. Harem scenario ends up being a no-go for me because the only type of women that'd exist in a harem can't interest me. Life's cruel like that.

But anyways, this show actually pisses me off because, and I'm going to take a cue from A Black Falcon here, because it's sexist. Not in the normal A Black Falcon way where the story happens to just focus on like 5 people that ends up better representing the male sex, no, that shit doesn't make me mad. A fictional world's a whole world and I don't get mad if I'm given a believable world and from that incredibly small snippet of the fictional world I'm exposed to it happens to look sexist. Doesn't bother me. In fact I'm willing to generally give the author the benefit of the doubt in that case. But, like, EVERYTHING in Campione is sexist and is sexist and exists just to serve the existence of this wacky harem. While one may argue that Godou deserves his harem through his deeds in the context of the show the fact is is that the universe in Campione is essentially designed to give men harems. Just to become a Campione requires a kiss from a woman first. These knights or witches, who are all young, are essentially whored out by older men in their societies to become mistresses of God slayers. Trained to treat what are essentially bratty teens with super powers as royalty. While it's not touched upon I wonder if it is even possible for a female to become a Campione, at the very least they unfortunately would have to get kissed by another female witch first so they don't even get the decency of getting some heterosexual wish fulfillment out of the deal but I guess if they swung that way they it works. You never see male Warlocks and you never see female Campiones. Even if there were female Campiones you'd have to wonder who their knights would be since these secret orders all seem to hire women. The entire aspect of having to kiss them to divine information is just to set up a ridiculous kissing scene and you never see the male dude working with the Shrine Maiden offering up his lips for victory. Essentially every facet of the world in Campione exists only to serve the formation of harems and while other harem shows also have tons of aspects I hate rarely is there a property that literally bangs the fact that everything in the world exists to perpetuate a harem as Campione does. The last show so insulting to me was Samurai Girls. I mean, I can't feel that Godou earns his harem because it feels like in that universe the heavens and earth exist just to give him a harem, and if not him just someone else so long as that person has a penis and that to me takes anything it could have ever had that made any character in the show special by any degree and stomps on it. I can't feel anything for the girls because in that universe they have to be haremites essentially and again, if not those specific girls there'd just be others. But hell, it's not just the mechanics of the world, all the combatants themselves essentially abide by the universal harem creation law by sitting around like a fool while their rival kisses some chick "just because."

I mean, when the pandering is so blatant in every single aspect of a work I have to question why the work exists in the first place, surely he could just write up straight porn with no scenarios right? Not like my imagination could actually entertain such a blatantly perverse set of world laws just to create the contrived scenario the author's feeding me.

Sigh.

Well, I feel better.

Wow ..that's some wall of text
First the book are NOT in that tone ..there is lots of misunderstandings but the focus is on the campione themselves , their powers , why something works , why something doesn't and a nice part of politics between organisations as many characters have their own agenda and their own whims ...the pandering you're referencing isn't there....There literraly entire chunck of chapters dedicated to how everything works and what's happening ( battles mostly ) ..something the anime ignored since most battles are incredibly short in the anime.

Also there are woman campione and across the males ones godou is the only one that need kisses ( did you see Voban needing kisses ? or salvatore doni ? ), The reason the MC need them is because he is the only one that fights with team support. ( to seal a god , his sword need knowledge ) .. I'll spoil you and say that he doesn't need that method ( kisses ) afterwards. I told you , the 4 girls are there and introduced , the harem is done ..

Another point why the anime failed is that they omited the various problems between each organisation and thus why the 4 females have more reasons (besides love ) to be after the MC ..

While you reacted to this anime by the words " pandering" & "insulting" i'll just add that the risqué moments are a tiny part of it. and that you misunderstood how it really works.

In short the campione anime failed , because it made someone like you react this way.

Wow. I'm not going to say that Campione isn't the slightest bit sexist or that you're off the mark about some things being contrived for the sake of harem shenanigans, but apparently things like how someone becomes a Campione seem to have been portrayed a lot differently in the anime than in the light novels...
it's just a kiss .. it's a plot device not that different from plenty of other animes out there

I could have watched fifty episodes of the E7 cast just traveling around their world and doing fun shit, no lie.

Agreed 100%...which reminds me...

Eureka 7 AO - 22

Hmmmm....well.....ok, not really sure what to make of this. I do know that crazy-eyed Truth was starting to make me cringe every time he showed up. When
Renton
appeared I half expected
him to yell "apprivoiser!" given his new Ginga Bishonen hairstyle.
Still going to watch 23-24 but given that I have almost no idea what the hell I watched here I'll reserve full judgement for that time.

Star Driver - Vague random final impressions or something

I ended up enjoying this a lot more than I thought I would, given how largely formulaic and repetitive it can be. I think a lot of this is due to the show's design choices, particularly character and mechanical. I loved the Kiroboshi versions of all those characters and their associated Cybodies were all very unique and interesting. I'll admit that way back when I watched one episode and put it on hold that I wasn't crazy about Tauburn's design, but it really grew on me when I watched it through this time.

The story, while not perfect, was more than serviceable. Everything that took place in Zero Time was probably my favorite part of the show. The Cybody fights were all entertaining and well choreographed, especially as the series progressed.

I should also mention that I really like the soundtrack, especially Monochrome (though I really prefer the version that leads into the Cybody fights but couldn't find it). The second OP (Shining Star) really grew on me as well.

Glad I picked up the BD's for this...a very enjoyable series indeed.

Next up is Fantastic Children thanks to recommendations from duckroll, among others.
I'd have to say I felt pretty much the same way when I finished Star Driver. It has a lot of flaws, but I ended up liking enough of the characters and the setting that I enjoyed it's positives more than I disliked it's flaws.

The next stream announcement from Crunchyroll is My Little Monster/Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun.

Yay! I think this might actually be my most anticipated show for this season.

She's definitely up there.

Well, she's the cutest one.

I'm only 5.5 episodes into Mirai Nikki and I don't know if I can handle this anime... shits too raw for me :(

Having dozens of male cult members treat a little girl to a carousel of rape just because of her parents just died is something much more disturbing to watch then you would think and I think its fucking disturbing! - I have to admit they had a lot of balls (no pun intended (poor form)) to go there!

Inu x Boku SS - OAV

Cajunator Allert !! i repeat . Cajunator Alert !!!

Excellent Oav ..i can't add more as i enjoy this serie a lot ...

I hope they adapt the rest of the silly side stories before the next main arcs in another season.

Also someone should make a gif of ririchyo backing out ..

Catching up to Total Eclipse anime, what a goddamn ugly show lol.. altho the CG mech is quite good, but the other area can make you blind.
But this Kamchatski arc or whatever its called is Muv Luv : Alternative at its best.. those delicious mix of pseudo military stuff, politic, war and familiar trope. And glad to see Yuuya can prove he's not worse than other lead in the VN like Shirogane and Hibiki.

Just wish the show isn't so ugly ;__; fuck Satelight, oh well.. I'm glad can enjoy Total Eclipse after the slow start.. that means I can look forward to the VN version release.

I don't mean to like, spoil things for you, but that's probably the worst it gets. I think. I can only kind of remember. It is a pretty brazen series in general though.

No... thanks for that. At least now I can continue... This was supposed to be my attempt to work my way back into dark anime but it would have been a bit much if it went on like that.

I mean Mirai Nikki is a series that relies on shock value still, I don't mean to steer you wrong necessarily.

Scored 3/100 on an Exam
So, according to the recommendations I saw the first episodes of:

Penguindrum
Incest?
That girl's voice is annoying as hell.

Moyashimon
Reminds me of Law of Ueki in its inanity and other characteristics.
I suppose I'll try another episode.

Dennou Coil
Seems cool. I'll try some more.

This fucking dialogue.

oh god,
Grimlock's justification for killing Griselda
and the subsequent scene was just one of the worst things ever.

GRIMLOCK: SHE WAS, LIKE, GETTING A PERSONALITY AND BEING HAPPY. BITCH HAD TO DIE, MAN.

ASSNA: *explains patriarchy*

GRIMLOCK: MIND BLOWN NO WAIIIIIIIIIIII

I wanted to shoot the television when the happy music kicked in as the sunrise peaked through the forest canopy like this was all going to be water under the bridge for everyone and
Yolko et al., totally indifferent, dragged Grimlock off to "deal with him" in the most non-threatening way possible
. The scene could have been saved if
we'd heard Grimlock's faint screams in the distance as Kirito and Assna, completely unfazed, continued to engage in their dumb flirting
, but we'd never be so lucky.

Lest I forget to mention the episode's cringe de la cringe,
Assna and Kirito seeing Griselda's "ghost", as if her soul was at peace after the issue of her murder was settled with all the emotional catharsis and sense of justice of your average Scooby-Doo ending
, was a moment of ham transcendence. I can't believe that they played this straight.

In an MMO.

So much for Kirito's insistence on "IT CAN ALL BE EXPLAINED BY DA MECHANICS!"

I mean, am I being too hard on all of this? The episode was mostly tolerable until everything came together (lol sandwich death etc etc), but when all of that happened, just..........I don't know what else to say.

Just saying right now Pierrot. The LN does a better job. Trust me.

Awesome! Found my pair for this show! Though it was during the final episode. :(

This was a surprisingly decent show, and I would definitely be up for a second season of it.

HisahidexNagahide for life. Now let's see if I can find some fanart/works of this beautiful couple..
