I think these shows have probably driven you mad if you think IS wasn't the same.
IS never actually had the guy get hit, for example. There were threats, but it never happened, because that was the joke. It also never really relied on the faux titillation of g-rated double entendres. The OVA with nude Houki is probably the furthest that the original series got, actually. lol

I'm not saying it's "good" in the classic sense. Just that as a haremshit show, it was really the best of its kind because it was restrained when it would have been so easy to go full fake-porn.

diabolik lovers is the only harem show worth anyones attention in this season

NO

Strike the blood - 02
I guess we're world building , now.

First arc is alright so far , cast is passable.
New girl sure felt for the main character easily .

OK i'm intrested...
Is it from a LN ? i might just go and pick th source material once this season ends to see just how the new vampire lord will build his harem empire.

edit ; 8 books ? nice ... will read later..

Well, here's the first details on the Super Sonico anime:

Director: Kenichi Kawamura
Series Composition: Yousuke Kuroda (Jormungand, Highschool of the Dead, Madlax)
Character Design: Masafumi Tamura
Animation Production: White Fox
In Super Sonico's back story, she is already a photoshoot model, game character, and a musician, even as she studies as a college student. She is also part of a three-piece girl band named "Daiichi Uchū Sokudo" (Fastest Speed in Space) as the vocalist and guitarist.

This is what girl talk leads to.

Yeah IS season 1 was pretty good for a harem show.

Then IS season 2 came.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I fully expect the rest of this season to comprise itself of three things.

1. Beach episodes.

2. Bath house episodes.

3. Situations where the main character is caught in a bad situation with a girl and another girl walks in and he's all "it's not what you think!" *forced laughter*

Didn't all of these happen in the first season though?

There was no craft in Infinite Stratos season 1, and don't even try to pretend otherwise.

Edit: Actually I just remembered that Orange did the CG, so there was some craft there. Otherwise, no.

I know I watch (and enjoy) a lot of questionable material but I won't even pretend to say that Infinite Stratos somehow deserves to be placed on a higher plane above other things.

IS 1 has what craft again??? come on.
The direction. S1 is just a better show than the two episodes of S2 we've seen so far.

Uh, if anything, animation is all it has going for it. It's sure not the writing.
Well, the writing is what it is. lol

I look at it this way. It's like trying to decide whether Corona, Budweiser or Coors is the best beer. They're all shit beers, but you can still choose which one is the "best".

#teamfirehawk here

Ookiku Furikabutte 02

It's pretty interesting watching this at the same time with Ace of Diamond. One goes the more subtle route of friendships and whatnot, the other goes the hot blooded route, yet both are pretty enjoyable.

I also like that I'm picking up on Abe's need to have control in this catcher and pitcher relationship as well, heh heh.

Inclined to agree with this and that the first season had a much better sense of comedic timing as to how Ichika's idiocy was portrayed.

New season is also demonstrating how much better it'd be if it was an SDBurton show with just the girls hanging out and no Ichika too.

realtalk IS S1 was guttertrash and the only reason to care about it was the amazing dub full of such "authentic" accents

I don't see this at all. Russia's trolling is the only entertaining thing so far, and you need Ichika for that. IS girls hanging out would be the most boring thing since Tamako Market.

To be honest, I'm interpreting your defense of IS as the result of Stockholm Syndrome, so to continue that analogy, it's like you bought a 24-pack of Budweiser for a party that never happened and now you're trying to justify the purchase.

Ergo Proxy 17

Remember I was watching this show? Because I actually completely forgot. Got to give Ergo Proxy credit: Episode 16 completely sapped my will to watch the show in a way few single episodes have. Then I got distracted by new anime and yeah. Anyway

Things actually happened in this episode. Hooray for things! Also another show with a piano-playing gynoid! So Pino is connected to Raul, eh? Hmm. Also depressing cave-dwelling people.

Yes! DokiDoki Precure 5 - 36

9Wq9ryU.jpg

Go tell that fucking YPC5! OH WAIT, YOU'RE SEVERAL YEARS TOO LATE

Welcome to the creepiest episode of DokiDoki Precure, where not only does SDBurton command a female Spritzee to kiss my Female Ivysaur named Yuri Flower, TailsxCream fans have their love child in this show. (Do they know no boundries?) And it led to Raquel having a boner, or rather heart beating, but he was fucking THRUSTING IN HIS BED! HE WAS THRUSTING IN HIS BED WHEN HE WAS THINKING OF HER! YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS SHIT UP! Hearing her name makes him go into dokidoki mode, causing Davi and Sharuru get into body bumping argument, and throwing Makoto under a bus. Even Racquel's constant love mode was rather creepy. But hey, it did lead to some awesome yet... disturbing moments.

Nevermind the fact that he took on the body of an elementary schoolkid (oh my), but going with a middle schooler on a date! Ohh man! How saucy. And then we had a fucking Potty Trainer monster "showering" the lake with poison, and Racquel goes nuts to justify his boner. Enough to let Cure Diamond "shower" him with her shower. But his boner is so powerful, that he gained control over Cure Diamond's ass and uses the power of her ass to take it down. Cure Diamond must be attempting to fight Cure Blossom/Marine to see who has the strongest/firmest ass. It's appealing to Theonik now.

But everything ends well right? It was until Racquel got cock blocked by the boyfriend, and now he's back to humping Rikka's head when is heart doki doki'd. It took too long to finish this.

NEXT TIME, AGURI DOESN'T EAT HER FUCKING CARROTS
And Regina is waking up!

I dunno, Ichika is the only reason it gets stupid though. Otherwise, it would be all faux-lesbians and having girls grab each other's breasts in a platonic-but-sexual-manner-for-the-male-audience kind of way gets old after a while. lol

The best kind of trash!

Yeah, her trolling is only funny because of the harem. Too bad she's in a show that's been massively downgraded. Hell, I just remembered that pool montage from last week... so terrible! lol

I mean, I did watch it many, many times. But compared to the pervy harems, S1 just outclasses them. That's just truthfact. :(

I don't get it.. IS S1 didn't feel any different than other usual harem that I've seen, what the classy thing that people seeing smh. The protag still accidentally seeing women changing, fondling breast and ass, and want his dick for no reason.

Shit make me want to rewatch it, but I better than that.

Maybe it was during the time I watched it, but the animation and battles alongside the harem raised it above many for me. With so many harems, even those with battles in them, relying on making the protagonist so OP he doesn't even lift a finger to win.

IS2 so far has had 2 episodes and it seems to be focusing too much on his idiocy vs his training. Hopefully with the introduction of Russia he starts to train more. Or if he got less dense that'd be a win too. Either ways IS2 is only one of the passing animes for me. It's by no means one of the better harems out there.

Of course it's haremshit. I'm not even denying that. lol

I want to like this more because the action is solid, but everything else is so goddamn generic that ít's tough to pay attention.

Patlabor TV+ New OVAs-
Well this was different. There really isn't any other way I can best describe it from the original OVAs(and movies). The original timeline takes a much more serious take on the Patlabor universe and technology. The TV series however focuses more on the characters themselves rather than the implications of the technology. To that end, the TV series both succeeds and somewhat fails at the same time. The reason I state that is that Noa does get a lot of character development and it's really only her that gets this development. Other characters are fleshed out more, such as in their background, but not really on the development side. It feels like a wasted opportunity on some levels. It's apparent near the end that Noa has come a long way with her fear of damaging Alphonse as she pretty much learns to let go to a degree. I should mention that I thought Kumagami was a poor substitute for Kanuka and really felt pretty shallow. I did like the comedy episode a lot such as Seven Days of Fire and Underground Labyrinth Case. I thought the 2nd OVAs had the strongest standalone episodes such as Snow Rondo,The Day Goma Came in from the Rain, Seven Days of Fire, and Our Karuizawa. I did feel however that the Schaft arc got a pretty crappy end in the 2nd OVAs and I much preferred the climatic episode in the TV series.
Animation-wise, it doesn't look as good as the original timeline but that's to be expected. Oshii put in some amazing work in the movies and it's to be expected a TV series doesn't look as good. I did have an issue with the noses as they were really distracting initially but I adjusted. Shinobu also got a downgrade in the hair department. That's not to say that the directing was flat as there were some really good shots interspersed thoughout the show such as this one:
The show was also really good with final shots(of the episode) with ones such as these:
Mechwise, there are more designs in the TV series. I do think the Griffin is an awesome design but the OG timeline contained some nontraditional designs that were solid.
The OST isn't as solid as the OVAs and movies but it's still not bad. It's just kinda generic in this 90's sort of way. I do think Midnight Blue was a great ED but I wasn't wowed by any of the other OP and EDs. There was a really great transition into Midnight Blue in one of the episodes, it was the one with SV2 trying to rescue the whales. That's not to say they were bad but they weren't really that special either. I did like the last OP in OVA 2 though, mostly for the music. I was really impressed with some of the sound effects though. In Storm of Spring (25), Shinshi's wife pops up with the Godzilla roar sound effect from the original OVAs. I nearly died laughing. Also the sounds the alligators made in The Dungeon Again was so good. So good.
In short, Noa is my 80's/90's waifu. All dat fuwafuwa hair.

It's giving off way too many Majutsu no Index vibes for me to not like it as of right now. Maybe this one will be more romance focused but hot damn I wouldn't mind if it had a lot of action. Characters are generic sure, but the song during the battle was pretty sweet, not to mention the electro OS playing throughout the episode. That's already a plus.

Admission: I think most of Attack on Titan constitutes one of the worst shows I have ever had the misfortune to watch.

But I'll be damned if it doesn't have an enjoyable sound track.

Well, read at your own risk:
He does but it's a call back to the original show where Mazinger gets replaced by Great Mazinger. Every day I pray he gets to make a Shin Great Mazinger but as they say, it's nice to want things.

Ugh, ugh, ugh. This makes me want to start GGG instead.

the pacing is slow sure, and right now in the manga it's a bit aimless, but I congratulate its mission statement for a shonen. Plus the animation was too good. It needs a bit more action scenes so people can forgive the slow pacing.

It's worth a watch but figured you should know if it's a hangup. Main plotline is completed, comes full circle, is awesome, but there's that. Also one of the villians has a fucking amazing character arc.

Be warned its a kid show.

To add, it's very monster of the week early on before. There's a chart out there that sort of sums things up. Episode 31 is fantastic though.

WATCH GGG. WATCH IT. DO IT. You haven't seen shit till you've seen things that I can't describe to you because when you see GGG you can't ever use mortal terms again.

Be warned its a kid show.

Nonononono. GGG is a show that makes you feel young again. It's pure, until the corruption sinks in. The childlike atmosphere of the early episodes is to set you up for the twisted shit in GGG Final.

What even was it's mission statement? "How many times can manuever gear jam?" Also the animation was pretty horrible at times. That unforgiveable CG forest. Them blue Titan feet.
