What the fuck is this?

This was completely incoherent.

Shin Mazinger is too awesome to ignore just because you afraid with the ending.
WATCH GGG. WATCH IT. DO IT. You haven't seen shit till you've seen things that I can't describe to you because when you see GGG you can't ever use mortal terms again.

Nonononono. GGG is a show that makes you feel young again. It's pure, until the corruption sinks in. The childlike atmosphere of the early episodes is to set you up for the twisted shit in GGG Final.

I love GGG, but if you watch it with fully critical with stuff like storyboarding, directing and writing.. you not doing yourself favor, the good thing GGG is very capable to make you ignoring all those stuff.. but still GGG aren't show that gonna winning critical objective judgement.

Monogatari 15
This Medusa arc has been completely and wholly refreshing. After Bakemonogatari the important turn for the series was that Senjougahara and Koyomi became a couple, but the series often continued to focus on the obsessed losers stewing over the outcome. With the later sections of this season of Monogatari coming largely free of the virus that is The Fire Sisters and the passive egocentric pouting of Hanekawa interesting things are actually able to happen. For once characters can actually be torn down instead of built up.

I'm not sure if this came up, but ANNCast's latest episode was devoted entirely to Watamote: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/anncast/2013-10-11

I feel bad for liking the show now. But I guess I can't disagree with Zac on everything. lol
I was going to post about it but I couldn't make it through the whole thing. I don't really have the patience to listen to a bunch of self-proclaimed autists hold the show up as an amazing character study. I mean maybe I could stomach that, but not if they also just vehemently deny that it's a comedy.

I'll be honest, at the moment I can't really remember anything specific they said about the show. lol

Watch me weep for you guys.

See, do you see me weeping for you guys?

Can you see all the tears I'm shedding for you guys right now?
*insert crying nipples here*

I also never got a good solid answer as to why nobody didn't crack the the third sample the moment they thought they knew what it could do or even prior.
Well both professor Go and Ginrei had personal reasons not to, especially with their trust for Von Fogler and deep down they wanted to know the truth of what had transpired. That later was replaced by doubt when Emanuel told them of Fogler's final moments. There is also the fact that with the giant sphere on the move they needed the third sample to study how these samples worked in hopes of counteracting them.

Yeah. Now but now they will happen with 90% less battles and 100% more "NYAAA ECHIIII!" *slap*
The less battles the better imo.

Log Horizon 2 - This really was quite good. I had somewhat mixed feelings about the first episode, as I said -- it was good, but somewhat bland -- but this second episode was a solid improvement over the first one! This was a great episode, and I liked it a lot. This show asks the right questions, and has some interesting answers too. It also made me wonder... in this world they're in, do people age? Of course, in games people don't usually age, but that's because they aren't really running in the same time scale as real life; it's always the same short period of time, repeating again and again, in a sense. The worlds those games are set in do have aging and eventual death from that; respawning doesn't heal everything. So, is this just "they're in the game", or is it a bit more real and they can age, or not? Of course, you'd have to be stuck in the game for QUITE a while to figure that out, so I doubt it'll happen. But it is a question related to the ones this episode brings up.

But anyway, yeah, Log Horizon is quite good. The world is interesting, and I wonder how this post-apocalyptic Earth came to have magic in it. The main characters are good and have some nice, if cliche and predictable, interactions with eachother. The plot has promise, and I really like that people resurrect when killed; that's how it works in MMOs, after all, so of course it should work that way here. This is a conventional anime series in a lot of ways, but it's a good conventional series that, if it can hold to this level of quality, I think I'll really like.

I dunno, Ichika is the only reason it gets stupid though. Otherwise, it would be all faux-lesbians and having girls grab each other's breasts in a platonic-but-sexual-manner-for-the-male-audience kind of way gets old after a while. lol

The best kind of trash!

Yeah, her trolling is only funny because of the harem. Too bad she's in a show that's been massively downgraded. Hell, I just remembered that pool montage from last week... so terrible! lol

I mean, I did watch it many, many times. But compared to the pervy harems, S1 just outclasses them. That's just truthfact. :(
Everything in this post is absolutely true. And yeah, getting rid of the guy is usually the right solution for how to improve a harem show, but in this case, not so much... at least, not in S1's version of things. Ichika's sheer blind stupidity was a definite part of what made the series so "good", and what made it earn that 10/10 rating I gave it.

Of course, S2 Ichika isn't at that level, and nor is the show but he's still amusing enough to be worth keeping around, for now at least.

I am interested though, firehawk12, why do you think that ep. 2 was an improvement over the first one? Just because Russia was introduced?

Well, here's the first details on the Super Sonico anime:

Director: Kenichi Kawamura
Series Composition: Yousuke Kuroda (Jormungand, Highschool of the Dead, Madlax)
Character Design: Masafumi Tamura
Animation Production: White Fox
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news...r-sonico-anime
I wonder if this'll include the fat one.

Admission: I think most of Attack on Titan constitutes one of the worst shows I have ever had the misfortune to watch.

But I'll be damned if it doesn't have an enjoyable sound track.

Maturity, bitches.
I still don't know whether I find the first OP of AoT good or if I just watched too many MAD videos of it so it ended up stuck in my head.

MGR's soundtrack is great because they know exactly how to use it. There's an art to proper application of vocal tracks.

Now, to continue from where I left off a year and a half ago...

Ano Natsu de Matteiru 5

It wasn't too hard to jump right in here. They've started making their movie, and thankfully, Remon has taken charge. We're in good hands now. Seems like the movie's going to wind up being a filmed representation of the story taking place before us. They already use that to get things out in the open quickly. That's nice.

Tetsuro's a natural actor. I hope he finds his way back into the movie in spite of all logic dictating otherwise.

I see why people latch onto Kanna. Ichika and Kaito get along well, but she seems to be more or less defined by her paranoia over being found out as an alien. Kanna's angst tugs on my sympathies much more readily. The way she beat herself up over a comment that nobody would hold against her reminded me of some of my own experiences.

igNAuxYSvOTSC.jpg

She's fine. It's just raining.

I feel like I must have forgot something important with Tetsuro, because I can't tell if he's trying to just be helpful or if he has a love interest of his own. And I honestly don't remember anything about the other girl that I haven't named yet. Why is she there?

I like the lighting in this show a lot, which is a weird thing to say about an anime. But the sun-drenched afternoons or the yellowing sunsets really capture the feeling of summer, I think. I like the show's sense of place a lot. Maybe I'm biased because I live pretty close to where it's set.

I'll keep nabbing episodes of this when I have nothing else to watch. Hopefully I won't go another 18 months before finishing it this time.

i tried to watch this show twice now , but i cant' get past the fact that i need headphones to not alert everyone around me with my speakers.

Hold the phone, you gave Infinite Stratos a 10? Out of 10? Not a hundred or something? Not ironically?

I wanna chime in here because surely I'm not the only one who felt there was a total change in the characters in season two's first episodes? It felt like a totally different show. Way more fake lesbianism between cast members, shitty gun play(did season one even have a gun that wasn't with a mecha?), it really felt like an alternate dimension episode to me.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outbreak Company 2 Ok, this show is a little weird, seems they're taking this stupid premise of exporting Japans culture to this other world somewhat seriously but there's one thing that's bugging me. Are they seriously
going to teach everyone there Japanese rather than just learn that world's language themselves and translate their crap? This show's taking a weird route here. Clearly you gotta change the infrastructure of that country so that they can have disposable income to buy manga and shit, gotta educate them in some language so they can read it, gotta get them some free time so they can read it, but it's all so weird because this is meaning that all societal changes that they introduce to the country are going to be driven by the population's desire to read manga? I don't know how serious this show is going to take the premise so perhaps I'm over thinking things, always am probably, but it seems to me that even if the Princess loves manga and wants her subjects to read it or however they're going to play it that without changing the infrastructure of the country to not rely on forced labor, conscription and the like that they're going to create a shitload of problems.

Yozakura Quartet 2

This episode was a little bit disjointed, and put the story on the down low in favour of developing the characters and explaining their relationship to one another in a multiple viewpoint SoL format. It was perhaps a little too broad in focus, but since I find most of the cast likeable, I still enjoyed it.

They also found time to throw in two boob grabs, some action sakuga and a lesbian kiss. Kotoha is still the best, and maybe even bester after this episode.

Gundam Build Fighter - 02

Oh my god this is show of the year, dem mecha sakuga! yesssssss
I hoping around like little kid, dat Gundam OP pun, so good...

Imagination > Reality indeed.

What even was it's mission statement? "How many times can manuever gear jam?" Also the animation was pretty horrible at times. That unforgiveable CG forest. Them blue Titan feet.

I'd say the anime's goal was to be the bridge between seinen and shonen manga. I mean I'm talking out of my ass here most likely, but when the anime first started I thought it was a seinen due to the setting and looks reminding way too much of Berserk. Maybe trying a bit harder to be grim-dark than other shonen can be considered as being 2edgy4me for many but I like it.

The issues I have with SnK involve everything else, mostly the author. He/she takes forever to release a chapter and loves to write dialogue. So while many other shonen mangas where bimonthly or maybe even weekly, this guy takes forever to release a chapter only for it to have nothing happen.

Im the only one on team #samumenco now? :(

GundamBF's is a good second though.

I want to like the show because it's Durarara and Baccano director +Gintoki's voice actor but as of right now it's basically animu Kick-Ass. Once more of the characters start being introduced and the main character stops being a wimp maybe the show will grow on me, but the animation and plot of the first episode were lackluster. I'm hoping the OP animation isn't too far off of what the show will end up being

Gundam Build Fighters has the best something of the season, i'll give it that:

Sorry cat MILF.

Also, yeah, episode 2 was really enjoyable. I'm glad they didn't drag out the process of
turning Reiji's disinterest in gunpla battle around.
They handled it well, too.

So remember when people were wondering why Kill La Kill wasn't available for UK streaming on Crunchyroll?
Well, this is probably old but I accidentally came across the answer to that just now. Seems like All the Anime (the new licensor that also snatched Cowboy Bebop) got it.

The interesting part of all this is they seem to be trying to push a currently French only Streaming service with this currently by embedding the streams on their site and with a UK version of the site being launched next week.

The really interesting part about the service is the model they are going for, Free SD/720p streaming with 1 minute of ads. (and free 4 day rental download)
And then premium ad/DRM free download of the HD content for 1.25 quid per episode. (not for KLK atm guessing because Aniplex needs some extra convincing)
Here's the blogpost on how they came up with this.
And the link to their simulacast page for KLK and Samurai Flamenco.

Yeah, I was afraid of the same thing. But luckily enough they keep the story going and then some
with Reiji Trans-Aming the fuck out of existence.

He's gotta be a ghost of Sei's dad or something. There has to be some insane super dramatic reveal about Reiji.
