Fall 2013 Anime |OT| When is Crunchyroll coming to GTA Online?

Multiple people are citing this article about Space Dandy, which outright states it'll be an English dub and that Funimation has the license.

Is there any precedent for this? Because this is really cool.

Like, I know about IGPX (even mentioned it in my post in the other thread; I never actually remember watching more than one or two episodes), but that was at least partly funded by Cartoon Network themselves.

In Japan the majority of anime productions are only put on air because the sponsors funding the show are also paying for the ad slots it runs in. Lol.

That's actually kinda funny. I'm just wondering about if the ratings for Space Dandy do semi-good, how much revenue that might potentially bring back to the production companies. It would be really amazing to see more shows airing at the same time but it obviously has to be profitable.

for as nice as the art can be it sure doesn't seem like there's much attention paid to the production of this show. like in the escalator scene they hop between escalators...but the main guy's body is still at a standstill as he reaches back over the railing. even the escalator they were on before stops for no reason. it's more pervasive than just coming down to being an attention to detail thing, even the story has long term consistency issues unless i really do not understand what is going on. the main girl has had no problem stabbing the main guy billions of times in the past, suddenly it becomes hard for her, and his near death state magically has a different outcome this time.

side notes:
this show doesn't really translate the physical strain of anemia very well.
this show gives off some pretty strong sexist vibes.

Sounds like anime to me.

I don't think the ratings or ads on Adult Swim will have anything to do with the Japanese side. It's likely a straight licensing deal where they pay for broadcast rights. Nothing more.

My Ps3 is currently downloading that back at home. Hope its good. Lotsa squeefighters in it.

My main has been Platinum since BBCS Extend, and you can't get much more squee than her.

Not that I really play enough multiplayer to be able to talk about mains and stuff. I'm mainly in it for the single-player content. But when I do play multi, I play Platinum. 'Cause she's amazing.

I was delighted that Platinum basically became the third regular character in the new Teach Me Ms Litchi episodes.

We always assumed that Inferno Cop was being made as it was due to having the budget of a cup of ramen. But I think this episode raises an important question.

What if Inferno Cop was made the way it was because that's exactly how they wanted to make it?

Russia's a fucking baller. Okay, yeah. I love France, but Russia is best girl now.

Pretty awesome action either way. Oh and IS growing an actual plot now? Blasphemy.

It always seemed like a clearly intentional choice to me?

It wasn't quite to the same scale, but as I've already mentioned, the largely forgettable Sunrise effort Kurokami was dubbed into both English and Korean for TV broadcast, at pace and with (I think it was) 24 hours of the Japanese broadcast. That said, I think it was on some comparitivrly-tiny-availability US cable channel like ImaginAsian or something.

the same people as the uk! (no one)

It'll probably be streaming, but someone will almost certainly have rights for the UK by broadcast. It'll probably be one hell of a bidding war, though - it's the kinda thing that'd drive hella traffic to Wakanim or Animax if either of them got it.

I'd have to imagine Funimation will be streaming it themselves after the initial TV broadcast for those Canada-types, though. Maybe even Daisuki, given what is happening with Bebop.

Inferno Cop was not born out of budget considerations. Trigger just happened upon the exact template for saving anime and have stuck to it through poverty and affluence. Not even those mad duckets they got from Kickstarter can dissuade them from elevating the medium. LWA is a silly side project, so they can afford to give it things like animation frames.

The whole scene where Maiko is going all:

made me picture someone at trigger animating it by dragging her image around on screen and make airplane noises with their mouth like The Wind Rises.

In a perfect world, Galilei Donna would be cancelled immediately, with all resources and personal working on it reallocated to help with Samurai Flamenco's production difficulties.

In a perfect world, Galilei Donna would be as good as its premise AND Samumenco would have no budget problems :(

I know that the anime industry can turn out good "adventure" stories with mysteries and intrigue. Shows like Nadia and Fantastic Children prove it. The idea of sky pirates and mysteries about Galileo should be making a rip-roaring, cheesy adventure story - probably something a bit National Treasure/Dan Brown-esque (I'm not saying those are great stories in the canon of literature but I love those kinds of twisty turny adventure thrillers).

Instead Galilei Donna has crappy anime characters being boring :(

Too soon to judge, I believe Galileidonna will have good stretch before the anime end..

Lol I'm enjoying the gif along with that mental image.

I agree that it has a chance of a decent stretch in there somewhere, but I think 3 episodes is a fair evaluation. Gotta draw the line somewhere. There was also nothing to be excited about in the last 2 episodes. It opened strong and fell off.

I've been spending too much time watching whack shows because I won't drop them. It ends now.

Walkure romance - 01

DROPPED.

This anime first episode managed to hit all the wrong notes in such a short time.
I'm playing a lot of visual novels , so i'm accustomed to generic story and generic settings , however the joust sub plot is nothing but a decoy ...

The most immportant thing to do when you're introducing your cast is to put in your viewer mind a reason to keep them intrested, the faster , the better ... i have to admit it didn't do it for me ... i might give it another chance later but WHY DOES EVERYTHING FEEL SO GENERIC ?
i feel like infinite stratos is a master piece when i compare the 2.

so about Valvrave - 15

This was one of the better episodes in some time, but the show still hasn't regained its comedic spark. The backstory/mythos and side characters in this show are neither interesting nor funny, so the show's focus on them leaves me disinterested. It's still mildly amusing, but I'm losing any hope of it reaching the heights of early to mid season 1.

That's what happens when the story comes from the mind of a porn director.
