Spice and Wolf - 7

This show is REALLY good at making banter interesting. And that's a key element of the show too, because most relationships in it get developed through these lengthy dialogues with various topics interchanging.

Also, when they FINALLY
held hands for real
, I almost jumped into my screen.

Bleach 53 - 56

FLASH MASTER Yoruichi, good move and and jogged my memory about this, I wonder why n coverage in current manga

I still remember being wholly impressed by Old Man Yama going all out nearly, never forget.

Anything can feel out of place if done badly.

Right. The point being made about the bits in White Album 2 is that the shower scenes seemed out of place in the show as it currently is. Doesn't have much to do with the source material being adult or not, tbh.

I knowwwww. Its so adorably saccharine.
I wish there were more shows like it. The older show Aishiteruze baby is a bit similar. Yuzuyu is really cute too.

Yeah, it's hard to balance being cute and saccharine without just becoming insufferable or lacking substance completely, but Usagi Drop did a good job.

Bill Maher needs some better artists. :p

Little Busters 4 is a thing:
BGbGJcil.png

I can actually see how they would end it in 6 now, if that was the original plan. Then just do the Persona 4 Anime thing with the True Ending. I'm glad they're not doing that though. :p
Still, I'm sort of glad that the "main" relationship just sort of resolved itself without too much angst. It was actually refreshing to see, considering all the shoujo/harem antics we see in anime usually.

Space Bros 79

This is both "awww" and creepy. It'd probably be better if she was just a 10 year old girl that Hibito was humouring instead of a teenager anyway.

But, while I know people don't seem to like this Russia arc, I'm sort of glad it happened because it gives them an excuse to do some USSR porn:
nOVcOT0l.png

I never really thought of it, but it does seem strange that the Russians were not part of that moon mission and seem to have their own unique program. The fact that they're STILL using the Soyuz is also hilarious, but that's something else entirely.

I just wonder if the manga ever goes into the Chinese program or if, given the Japanese-centric nature of the story, China is something they just have to pretend doesn't exist. I wasn't expecting the Russians to show up, so maybe I'll be surprised.

Also, maybe we'll have even more wackiness with Hibito/Namba being able to speak Chinese as well. :p

Chihayafuru OVA

I almost feel like this is an omake/extra, because I don't seem to remember a heavy Sumire arc in the manga, but this is as close to a relationship as you are going to get, sister. lol
Given what the manga is up to now, it's funny to think about what happens directly after the hospital stay and training camp segment. Maybe we'll get a chance to see it, but then again, you could just slap some cards around for 20 minutes a week and get the same effect.

Also:

Clearly, the manga has already set up a new canon pairing, so it doesn't matter. lol

Who would ever say no?

I cant say no to fuwafuwa

I don't know who or what Simoun is, tho.

its a pretty decent show with terrible production values, ship fights, girls kissing, gender changes, girls kissing, angst, a bit of romance, and girls kissing

Spice and wolf is the perfect balance of, well, everything good in anime.

Seriously impressed with how so many apparently independent elements from previous eps came together so well in this one. Wish more anime could aspire to this level of storytelling.

You do a terrible job of making things sound "decent," hahaha.

Polar Bear Cafe 4

I swear Sasako's role in this show is the equivalent of the hot female hostess on children's shows. What exactly that is, aside from keeping fathers entertained at 3 AM when their kids are not sleeping, but I'm pretty sure that is the point of Sasako's character.

Damn near lost it at Penguin trying to do pinch control on a smart phone with his flipper.

Strike the Blood 4

You know, the nice thing about this show is, the summon-beast things aren't ugly CG like in Tokyo Ravens, so they actually look kind of cool.

I can definitely see why people are comparing this show to Index. It has a very similar feel to it, even outside of the obvious parallel in the "super modern city full of supernaturals" setting. At the end of this first "chapter", it still doesn't feel like this series is really doing anything much to set itself apart, though. If it weren't for Hosoya Yoshimasa in the lead role, I might be seriously considering dropping it, because while it's not doing anything badly, it all just feels so very by-the-books. As it is, though, I'll stick with it a while longer. Maybe this next arc will be more interesting.

Ace of Diamond Episode 4

One of the few times this season where Ive wanted to say Why cant it be next week already?! Kuromochi kun, Kominato kun, Satoru Furuya, Kazuya Miyuki, and Sawamura are all so good and need to be on the first string team. I wonder how things will develop next week.

The sound and speed given to both the batting and running especially Satoru's pitch and Kuromochi kuns running were the most memorable aspects. Utterly unbelievable.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Dreams of the Morning, Songs of the Night - Kapitel I

~ If there's no one between Lord Reinhard and his surroundings, there will be some kind of clash. ~

73nvNIt.jpg

The very first cameo... kinda.

Hearing someone say 'Kircheis-sempai' sounds really funny.

Looks like it's time for Reinhard and Kircheis to solve a mystery! It's pretty weird how two observers from the Space Fleet, a Navy-like entity, get put on a murder case though.
And I thought Kaiser Rudolf's gene theory got discredited before Reinhard's birth? Looks like there are still some people who support it.

Samurai Flamenco - 3

I think this show really would be my favorite of the season if it weren't for the glaring budget issues.

I more or less saw what was coming, but I didn't actually expect it to happen in the way it happened. My idea was that
Red Axe, seeing Samurai Flamenco and somehow deducing he's Masayoshi, decides to take him under his wing
, which wasn't too far off.

I'm gonna have to agree with the AnimeGAF consensus and say this episode was weaker than the first two, though. I suppose I'm being impatient, but very little actually happens in this episode. I think it's set itself up for a potentially great fourth episode, though.

Yozakura quartet HnU - 03

Bad guy is messing around , everyone else is living their life, with occasionnal exposition from each cast member .

Not great , not bad ..almost forgettable.

There, I think I just covered my impressions for the entire remainder of this series.

She really is, though; Azusa Tadokoro is putting a ton of energy into the role.

For those of who you watch Aikatsu, how is she as Aoi in that show?

Am wondering if this is the last of animated Chihayafuru aside from perhaps more packin OVAs. Which would make me sad. Guess I should bite the bullet and just read the manga.

Anyway I really liked that we got a Sumire story, and one away from karuta. Poor Sumire.

Tesagure! Bukatsu-mono 4

Ahhhhhhh! They broke the sacred pattern! There was no practical session at the end, instead they had an extra skit about the Student Council at the beginning! And a little gratuitous yuri teasing. WHAT IS GOING ON I AM SCARED OF CHANGE.

Also, there was some blatant fourth-wall-breaking there at the end. Well, not the wall between the viewers and the characters, but the wall between the seiyuu recording in the studio and the characters they're portraying. If I didn't already know the dialogue for this show is recorded before the animation is produced, I certainly would now >.>

Show continues to be highly fun. (For the record, the featured club this week was tea ceremony.)

Strike the Blood 4

Yukina and Kojou's interaction with each other is really enjoyable. Though, I do hope the other girls start appearing more prominently now that this particular arc is over

That battle song that played during Yukina's chant was very lovely. This fall season has really been stellar for me finding songs I'd like to listen to over and over again.

I'm planning on waiting for the Blu-rays for Uchouten Kazoku (or DVDs, I guess, if NISA doesn't release it on Blu-ray). I watched the first four episodes and really liked them, but then this season started, and I know I can usually only handle about five or six anime at max. What I watched of it was really good, but I feel like I can wait a while before seeing the rest of it.

it's almost sure that we will get a blu-ray release of uchouten kazoku , NISA has really no real reason to release them on dvd -only.

Wonderful end to a wonderful show. No dull moments throughout and something I'm glad I waited to watch as waiting week to week would have been torture. Time to bump a bunch of shit down on my AOTY list for this.

Given that S2 happened, I almost wouldn't be surprised if S3 happened. That or they just reboot it with a jdrama and give it a definitive ending.

Arata/Taichi?
No, but almost as absurd/hilarious. lol

The talk about TOEI doing a kind of "Sailor PreCure" type thing reminded me of this crossover art someone had done.

Well in the absence of a proper birthday date, you will remain as October 22nd on the not-so-secret list of birthdays and anime links. Speaking of which, from here until December, there only appear to be 2 birthdays: duckroll's and Extollere's.

Haha, I guess that could work. Other than those two, off the top of my head I remember Watanabe Kazuma's birthday is in December from last year and I believe amishpriest's is coming up pretty soon on Nov. 2.

I have been hearing the good word about Yamato but I've been holding off until that last batch of episodes is finally finished. A little bit of waiting won't hurt me!

OK, many people seem to be taking that route. I'm not quite caught up myself actually but I believe the last BD just came out on the 25th. The show quickly turned into another favorite of mine just like Crest and Banner did.

Haha, basically Wolf Children was going to be good, and as anime fans we couldn't help but willingly associate ourselves with it.

Good things don't end in -pocalypse. (Apparently they end in -mania or -teria.)

Wow, 330 posts? I didn't think I was that active this thread.

I thought I was posting regularly enough but it doesn't really seem like much by threads end at 20 000 posts and being at about 40 currently.

The Eccentric Family 01

Good pilot. The art is really nice, the characters are charming, and I like the setting. Don't know where the series is going yet, but that's for future episodes.

Same author as the Tatami Galaxy, so I expect good things.
