Hahaha, I love you!
a) I want to imagine that you use the "claw" to play dating sim games. lol
b) I hope you don't really use them as some form of emotion porn in order to try to recapture and relive your high school life!
c) Marriage is more romantic when your sister is involved?

a) Haha, I guess you could if you wanted to control zoom and movement simultaneously for maximum efficiency.

Fortunately the girls are patient and will wait for me to get into position.
b) For bettor or for worse, my high school life was not much like Photo Kano. :p
c) Forbidden love, love too strong to resist no matter the consequences, two people against the world...it makes for good emotion porn.

You know, I tried the original Love Plus just because, after all the "hype", but I couldn't really stay interested long enough to actually experience the rabbit hole.
The only thing of a real-time nature I ever tried was the Roommate series on Saturn. It was OK, but in the end it's basically just playing a regular game in slow-motion. I guess it was ahead of its time though since the click-and-wait genre seems to be all the rage these days.

Same with the Tokimemo Girl's Side game, and in that one you get to date Sugita!
They're like as demanding as an Animal Crossing game, but somehow less engaging.
Tokimemo on the other hand is a standard game that you play at whatever pace you want. Photo Kano is like that.

Oh my....swimsuits, thong and Yuri tit licking. This show sure does a good job in destroying my image on the first series.

I admit it's kind of refreshing to have a relationship just be... like, the characters not in the fucking will-they-or-won't-they stage for the entire show

It's almost like the point of having a relationship is actually having a relationship. Crazy stuff.

If it helps, the manga doesn't have any yuri besides a couple of hints. They've been really pushing it in this anime adaptation for some reason. And that reason is to gain popularity.

It is somewhat difficult to make a romantic relationship interesting without having some romantic drama though.

Pretty much. The relationship can't be the primary focus otherwise you essentially have to use drama. There are shows who depict relationships past confession points such as Eureka 7, Kim Possible, Blue Gender, and Monogatari but the relationship itself isn't really and probably shouldn't be the focus point.

Gingitsune - 4

Wouldn't it be interesting if this show explored the perspective of someone who has the Sight but doesn't want it, or considers it a burden?

We are led to accept that seeing Heralds is a good thing, and a benevolent dynamic in the protagonist's life, as part of the narrative framework. Turning that around is pretty neat.

Gintama - 25

I damn near lost it with the Death Note parodies. It's such a shame this show takes about 18 episodes to really pick up in its comedy department. I loved how they were poking fun at how clip show episodes usually go down.

Not a fan of the new OP though. Pray was so much better.

SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I forgot this thing existed. I remember watching it as a kid. TIME CAPSULE REWATCH HERE WE GO.

Many argue that the show doesn't REALLY pick up steam to godly status until 40+, and I mean in the comedy department as the few serious arcs are some of the best in any shonen. As to the OP, they change those quite often. Just wait until you reach the episode they run out of budget and do the OP in Microsoft Paint.

As promised here is an excuse to post many pictures of Deedlit a DVD master to HD Master comparison. (waiting for the BD to do something more proper)
That was pretty sweet and the new remaster is pretty damn fantastic. That colour correction. It's amazing to look at Lodoss and have it not be smudged with a teal colour. Another thing of note is that the new master appears to crop the frames a bit more but that could well be TV related overscan so I'll hold my thoughts till the BD on that matter.

The animation this episode was also quite lively, especially Deedlit's expressions. The amount of thought put into small nuance was pretty damn impressive. As was the detail. I also did get some Garzey's Wing vibes at times.
That dragon battle. MY SWORD IS UNBELIEVABLY DULL written all over.
Finally I want to take this opportunity to once again state how best Deedlit is. Infact she's too best at times.
So best they even dedicate the whole ED to her. (and OP depending on how you look at it.)

Shot in 35mm btw, BDs will be even more incredible.
Only slightly short of a month to BDeedlit!
Edit: Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that the music is pretty fucking awesome too.

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Episode 24

Beach episode could have been handled better, why do we have to resort to excellent fan art to see the two key characters in Beach attire, yet the two other characters get a whole swimming montage, unfair.

I wish someone had put avoid and skip the preview because
why do they not only spoil Dessler showing up but the whole battle scene going on. Would have been a nice surprise even if confirming that which we had guessed
.

Fun and good episode though and I liked the drama bit. One of the better none space fighting episodes. Flower scene was lovely and I guess the water was way better than the water done in Gundam Seed HD Remaster for these sorts of visuals...

That's a huge difference. Never heard of this show though, is it good?
In the words of Branduil(?) it's basically the best DnD representation in any visual medium and basically the template most if not all Fantasy anime of the 90s and beyond were built on. It's well worth checking out the OVA at least. TV is kinda meh or so I heard.
It's coming out in HD in full come end November though so I'd either hold till then or watch the first episode then wait.

THEY WHAT.

What episode is that in? That gives me something to look forward to.

i'm not worried about him

Cajun, then? Cajun won't mind if we both wear cat-girl outfits.

Notice: all of Revolutionary Girl Utena is now streaming on Manga Entertainment's YouTube channel. Dub only.

So basically it isn't streaming at all?

Yo. Record of Lodoss War is amazing. It's a straightforward, no nonsense Fantasy OVA about this dude named Parn, his Elven girlfriend/babe, a bunch of jokers and this quest to see how awesome King Kasshu really is. Show's DOPE. Massive shoulder pads and giant swords everywhere. It's classical Fantasy Anime at its absolute finest.

Given all those shows basically ape Lodoss I think it being pure fantasy anime is a given!

Sounds interesting. Although I think I'm going to hold of till the HD drops, it looks really nice in HD.

Better than 3d, right? lol
Are you going to catch them all in Photo Kano?

I think for me they're both the same because of the busy nature of it. It feels like clicking through menus most of the time because you have to increase your grades and blahblahblah so that your potential partner doesn't hate you. lol

So.... RWBY is pretty terrible at this point. Apparently season 1 is ending this thursday. It better have action.
Even you are bailing on it?!

It really is interesting how with bluray, we're basically seeing a bunch of old OVAs and TV series in better fidelity than anyone ever has before, excepting I guess the people who did the original film transfers.

The downside of this is early digital works which are going to be stuck in the SD ghetto forever because there are no high-fidelity film negatives.

You have no idea how much this depresses me about the digital era. It's going to happen to works currently being aired as well when we go up to 4k stuff.

This season at least knows how to bring the comedy, Alibaba and Ren Hakuryuu scene was way too good and funny and something one had to see. I hope more are coming even if the plot is getting slightly more and more serious. Best attack.

I'm almost confident the reason I enjoyed Maou-Sama is because it was a love letter to Lodoss. Slayers is the only other Fantasy Anime that even comes close.

Sounds interesting. Although I think I'm going to hold of till the HD drops, it looks really nice in HD.

It's pretty damn awesome. Like legit there is a fight between the King of Hyrule and Ganondorf and it is so goddamn amazing.

I think we'd have to worry about our own well beings if we were cat girls.

I was told to embrace the Hosodapocalypse, though.

Utena is boring.

Wha

You haven't seen the movie?

Or all he has seen is the movie.

Surely you mean Anthy?

I was gonna say something, but in fairness I do believe Anthy was what I disliked most at the beginning, too. My contempt ultimately shifted to Juri, but that's life.

He's bemoaning the lack of female chest.

OOh. Well yes, I suppose the movie would rectify that. Honestly the thing that bothers me most about the movie though is that, in sexing up Anthy, they also lightened the tone of her skin. I dunno what that was about, but it always bugs me.

It's a crime that Haibane Renmei is forever stuck in 480p. Those bluray upscales were horrific.

The current era wouldn't be so bad if most works were actually rendered at 1080p, but most of them are rendered at Xbone resolutions or lower. What was that site that analyzed the resolution of TV anime? Someone linked it before.
