Yes I was serious about Deen.
They made a lot of shows that I have enjoyed and I like the silly derpiness.

Space Brothers 25-27

This is how I feel when I'm watching this show:

The new OP is cool, but I love the new ED.

Speaking of enjoyable derpiness...
This show has SO MUCH HEART.

Hyouka 02

This is probably one of the most boring episodes I've seen in any anime... holy shit.

Hyouka takes a long while to properly wind up. And even then, the show never has entertainment as its base value. Only over time does the audience get an appreciation for the substantive character interactions and their slow-paced but finely constructed development.

Basically a boring/slow show. I'll keep that in mind.

User Enron has been so kind as to send me a "Mystery Box" in the mail:
The contents:

Top-Left to Bottom-Right: Read or Die set (2 out of 7 discs), Space Pirate Captain Herlock: The Endless Odyssey, Kaze no Yojimbo, (The very well-received!!!) Samurai 7 Volume 1, Samurai Champloo Volume 1, Yukikaze: Danger Zone (Volume 1)

I'd like to publicly thank Enron for dumping sharing his personal treasures with me. I'll probably get around to them someday.

That is actually a pretty good group of anime.
Enjoyed ROD thoroughly.
Its an ova and tv series thare are both tons of fun and the tv series does eventually tie in the ova.
Herlock is a classic.
Kaze no yojimbo is imo an underrated anime series about a man who goes to a small town controlled by rival mafia factions to investigate an old train robbery.
Havent seen samurai 7.
Champloo is entertaining and has great music.
Yukikaze is a mediocre show but has awesome jet designs and a weird story about fighting aliens called JAM. Check out the Rescue me Mave Chan ova which moeifies everything!

By the way, forgot to post before, but this year's Hidamatsuri is at motherfucking Budokan. Madocash indeed
don't get fired for this Yuma you're the best producer who's ever hosted a home shopping segment himself. :(

I'm very familiar with Champloo already.
I've heard Samurai 7 is horrible by more than a few people.
I have absolutely no insight on the rest.

Somewhat boring episode. I guess the important thing to get out of this one was Hibiki's ever growing concern about
the mysterious voice that only she can hear.

They're all pretty bad to be honest. The best girl in Chuunibyou is worth less than half of the worst girl in Hyouka.

Eh, I guess I just disagree. For the unambitious, silly yet still very entertaining romantic comedy that the show is going for I feel that the cast of Chuunibyou works well together. I find a lot of the female characters very endearing and I just can't help but find a lot of the comedy very amusing.

I will say though that I very much liked the cast of Hyouka much more and I do think that show is definitely the better of the two (at least so far).

The masses simply can't be helped, I suppose.

You're not superior for thinking the show is good since episode 1. Maybe you're just a boring person.

Hyouka 03

Holy shit, is that Koizumi? That's Koizumi, I'm fucking sure. What a naughty boy, smoking at such age...

Well, this one was better than the last one, at least.

Oh, I'm sorry. Are you still at work at eleven at night yet irked when people dare to call out your magical fantasy shitposting at three in the morning? Cleaning up to go home at 4, but beddy-bye time is before primetime? Or does the same magical time-shifting math that makes 12-year-olds 40 also put you in a hitherto-undiscovered time zone that ticks through eight hours while the rest of the world experiences the next four?

I mean, hold it, guys, we got a Homu over here. If any of you have pink hair you best be putting a padlock on your belt buckle right now.

Ehhhhyeaaahh...I wanted to use your post as an excuses to elaborate on the nhk tv documentary the study was in while replying to you but it was very late night to spend the time to do that so I was going to do that at a later date when I have the time too, but now you sound upset that I kept you waiting for that reply with links so am going to skip making the big post and give you what you wanted.

Am sure 7th can translate this for you as he can speak moon, is also hansom and a very nice guy.

Now it's time for me to make my slow exit as I don't want to be a part of this crazy relationship that's brewing.

Alaadin in Magi is some dumb ass character design.

Can't tell if he is a boy or girl and he looks so generic and small. Fuck the little brat.

This episode was fucking hilarious.

The beginning scene with Kyoko and co. trying to keep Chinatsu away from her drawings was great. Her singing that emo song went great with the fact that she draws disturbing, macabre art. Her crawling like a worm and doing those other dances, all with that "Fuck this shit" look on her face, while everybody else was focused on drawing was funny as hell. I had a bit of a "oh, that's disappointing" moment when Chinatsu said she would do some filling, and Yui proceeded to gulp that cup of tea. Since she said that directly because of what Chinatsu said, I thought that she drank, like, actual paint. I was all like, "OH SHIT YUI! THAT'S FUCKING HARDCORE!" But, then I found out it was tea. Oh well. She did down TEN cups of piping hot tea, though. Yui has balls made of pure diamond that are as big as bowling balls. Hope you don't get a stone, Yui.

The scene at the karaoke restaurant was great too. Best part was Kyoko trying to sing karaoke while eating a huge ass plate of fried rice. I first thought that "I'll Follow You to the Depths of Hell" anime sounded rad, but then it just turned out to be some shitty show about a stalker, which Yui (Yui fucking rules) points out. Then Chinatsu missed out on the chance to sing a duet with Yui, then sang that song all upset-lke, which was golden as well.

Then Yui and Chinatsu go out on what Chinatsu thinks is a date. If Chinatsu was going to pick a horror movie to try to make a move on Yui, why did she pick shitty torture porn instead of The Silence of the Lambs (she was looking directly at the poster for it)? Bad move, Chinatsu. Then Chinatsu professes her love for Yui when she grabs her hand to run for the train. Which gave part to the great end theme, animated by Chinatsu art, where the people look like they're frothing blood at the mouth. Perfect.

Was considering bailing out because of
Akari's creepy sister
. Squarely back on the YuruYuri train after this episode.

I'm rather fond of mundane and unengaging as more apt descriptors.

Hyouka is not an engaging show in the sense it tries to reach out towards an audience. It functions on its own terms, and expects the viewer to change his own mindset concerning his expectations. You're following a finely crafted narrative with an elaborate mise-en-scène.

You're drinking trappist, not mere pilsner. In that regard, Hyouka is rather high-brow and quite the unique experience.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Lite 6 [end]

Pretty boring. Overall the Lite episodes were on par with the first three or so episodes of the main series. 4 / 10 as a whole as only the one with Yuuta/Dark Flame Master was actually interesting and fun to watch, while the rest felt like a chore to go through.

What they should have done with these was have everyone in their modes the whole time with the visual genjutsu added to it, that would have made for great complementary material.

Well like I said, episodes 1, 4-5 and 7-11 are ok but it gets much better after that.
Starts out VERY slow but 4-5 explains the whole history of the club and Hyouka and Sekotani Jun.
After that its a bunch of pointless stuff until festival begins.

I can understand thinking Hyouka is boring after two episodes. The problem is thinking it's boring after the School Festival arc.

Watching 4 min shorts are a chore now? Really?

I know this is your shtick and I should honestly ignore your posts but goddamn DTL.

Hyouka's problem was that the mysteries felt too mundane and unsubstantive, sometimes bordering on the surrealistic (Why did I get pissed off?), to actually warrant the serious dramatic encadrement, and this gives the first cour a very dry atmosphere.

The School festival arc resolved that by making the mystery cartoony and interesting, while letting the character interaction work in a dynamic environment (the cooking competition etc.).
