Famitsu #875 (PS2/PSP side)

Sonic fucking Riders? WTF? Why is Sega dooming the Sonic franchise like this? At least it has a shot at being good. *Casts forlorn glance at Shadow*

And I wonder if those Taito games are in actuality "Squenix" games.

ps2 version of homura! sweet! though it remains to be seen whether type-x games can be smoothly ported to ps2.

Sonic Riders had the potential to be something good but fucked it up. Can't sink any lower than Shadow or Heroes so it'll be better than them by default.

Re: Exit - Is every Japanese developer out to prove Iga wrong or something? :lol

Heh. Yeah, Exit actually looks sort of neat stylistically. Could be a nice fit for a portable, trying to escape before the time runs out... frantically searching for keys and files and shit.

Wow, some of those sonic riders renders look like they came right out of F-Zero GX, If they play the same, I could care less about the goofy XTREME character line-up, I'll be picking this game up.

That EXIT game looks fuckin SWEEET.

Homura could be a decent enough shooter. I've never played Psyvarier and I think it's made by some of the same people but I heard it's good.

I don't want to be castrated but Sonic Riders looks fun to me. Especially that forest stage.

Hey Drohne, if Raiden III turns out a-ok does that mean the Homura port should be fine as well?

That exit game looks pretty interesting, hope it turns out to be a winner. The PSP needs more odd stuff like this that actually qualifies as a game heh.

The Initial D game looks really good too when the screens aren't so blown up. Wonder if it'll follow the manga/anime and include other racing options like uphill downhill chasing etc. That old 86 just keeps on chugging along.

It's just a port of the arcade game ^^;

it's the same hardware, and taito are publishing both ports. so yeah, they should be similar. i worry because gigawing generations turned out so badly. but raiden III and homura seem to have tate modes, at least. if they're 60fps rather than gigawing's sub-30, we're set.

Hah, Sonic Riders looks really cool in those shots. Hopefully it plays good.

Exit looks awesome. :o

are in this number new pics and updated from Sega Rally 2006? The last pics I remeber are one year old. Could be interesting to see how the game looksnow it is 90% finished. Aren't there any pics to from the new game developed by Climax, Ona no Dungeon? Thanks for all the scans Jonnyram.

Looks the same as when I played it at TGS last year. Nothing worth scanning, I thought.

One pic, and it looks pretty poor. It looks quite like Dungeon Master / Wizardry if you can imagine. Only pic of Landstalker is from the MD version, for reference and some character art.

Mmm. Homura is more interesting to me than both of the Psyvariars combined. Consider it preordered.

Ha! I'd actually like to see that. It's interesting to me that the ancient tile-by-tile dungeon crawler still survives in commercial releases in Japan (like so).

Sonic Riders...oh...could be something...I guess. Sad that I barely care about Sonic games anymore. I used to love Sonic back in the old days, heck I even loved Sonic Adventure. :(

Phantasy Star Universe..looks better now than during E3 I think, especially the environments. Hope it plays better as well.

Initial D looks nice. As a sidenote though, the characters looks more retarded than ever.

Exit looks kind of interesting, actually. Is it mentioned what you actually do in the game?

A rehost would be appreciated...

Edit: Oops I didn't see the "rapidshare edition"...Sorry !

Impressions:

Initial D: Looks like crap...Looks like a PS1 game with Perspective correction and just that...Poor texturing, Poor IQ and Poor filtering...

Exit: Cool concept...It could be interesting.

PSU: Almost perfect...This could be my very first PS title...

Sonic Riders: Looks pretty good...but IMO the game is saturated of similar games...Just a way to milk the Sonic franchise...a pretty innecessary game.

SRPG from Sega: Looks very good and I like it...Never played one of this game seriously (aside the SNES/GBA FEs)...Dunno, perhaps if the FE GC is fun, I'll get this...

Sega officially suck!

How long are they going to drag Sonic through shit? Its been 11 years, stop it Sega.

And these moronic Sonic fans who buy this shit need their skulls caving in.

All I have seen is these screenshots, but I get the feeling Exit could be one of those classic games that you never forget (for good reasons).

Sonic Riders actually looks pretty good. It looks like it's running on the F-Zero GX engine actually... any chance this one was done outside Sonic Team?

Tenkabito reminds me of Hundred Swords. It's made by Shade though, who worked on The Granstream Saga and Mystic Heroes among other titles and actually have quite a few ex-Falcom/Quintet staff. Keeping my eye on this one.

Exit looks rather cool and un-Japanese. Initial D PSP looks like a 32bit game. :/

Find people.save people.escape with people.

Sounds pretty similar to Mario vs. Donkey Kong (where you have to find and rescue all the Mini-Mario toys), which was a really good game (short but fun).

This game could be interesting, I'll definitely keep an eye on it.

PSU is looking better than ever! Looks like a nice diverse set of environments you can travel to. Hopefully the story in the offline mode is classic PS... If so we have a winner.

Sonic Riders has some pretty attractive graphics, certainly better than most of the Sonic games. Initial D needs texture filtering BAD (I loved the arcade game and it's my fav anime ever though), Homura looks like it could be good, and Exit looks interesting... almost like a Flash game with its graphical style.

Wow, another stupid post.

"moronic Sonic fans who buy this shit."

They're moronic fans because you say a game sucks, even though you know NOTHING.

Go away.

Sonic Riders actually looks really good! It almost has a "Sega Arcade" look to it (which is a good thing). If the tracks are well designed and the pace is very quick, it could be a blast.

Initial D on PSP also looks really nice. Exit even looks really slick (very unique style that should look awesome on the PSP screen).

The PSP lineup is starting to really kick some ass!
