No advertising. Seems really strange that the people running Fan Expo wouldn't even mention that the consoles were going to be at the event on their blog. It's a huge selling point and they never brought it up, once. Even MS and Sony were dead silent about the potential of them being there with new consoles until a couple of days ago. It's obvious why people were skeptical.
Then what the hell were Sony and Microsoft going to put in their booths? Sony and Microsoft want people to spend money on their new consoles this holiday season. Showing off current-gen at Fan Expo isn't going to help with that goal. Advertising is up to Hobby Star Marketing, and they've never really done a good job at advertising Fan Expo.

Sony has plenty of non-PS4 content to show off. MS was the one giving me hope as the 360 is practically a dead system from a first party perspective.
Anyways, both next gen consoles are there. Rejoice!
Past precedent. They have advertised new consoles(such as the 3DS and Vita) before they released in previous years only to have none there.
Anyway... anybody going to the gaming booths this year mind taking pictures for me? I'd like to see how it compared to the booths at this year's SDCC in terms of how many consoles were setup and how long they were allowing the lines to get before they tell people to go away and come again later. I have a cottage trip this weekend and can't go to Fan Expo, though I have been telling coworkers to go.

I have the 4 day pass and went today. Played some XboxOne and PS4. Watched a private gameplay screening of Watchdogs (on XOne) and it actually looked great.
I saw a Resideny Evil Statue of Nemesis for 300 bucks, and I'm seriously considering buying the crap out of it.
Also, sign me up for the Sunday meet! I'd love to see your gorgeous faces. I'll be dressed up as Resident Evil's HUNK.

I'd say both were crowded, but that may have been because of the set-up for both booths.
The XBO section was bigger, but also felt a bit clustered with people playing and others passing by right behind the stations. I saw a line up for Watchdogs, but we didn't bother waiting for it. I heard it was pretty good though.
The PS4 section was one room, with only about 6-7 stations, so the line for it was about as long as 3 rows in a snake-like fashion. It had fucking Knack, Drive Club, and another game or 2 that wasn't Infamous (at least we were pretty sure it wasn't) or Killzone. We weren't having that.

They did re-release it on PSN/XBLA. So it's not that odd... is it?
Yeah, we spoke about that. It's how he played it, but it seems he was well aware of the original release.

First time going. Didn't get to see all of the panels I wanted to but my friend managed to meet Hulk Hogan and Hasselhoff and a bunch of baseball players. Took a lot of pictures of people in costumes. There was a really awesome Blue Beetle.
I talked to a guy dressed as Chris and Barry from Resident Evil while they were looking at something on the floor and I asked them if it was Chris' blood. The Chris didn't get it or maybe I wasnt clear. The Barry found it funny.
Waited in line for the PS4 for two hours, talked to a lot of different people about the launch, e3 and what games they've been playing. Got to play Knack and hold the controller. Knack seems pretty good I thought, the PS4 controller felt really good.
I also got a free t-shirt, a Nathan Drake statue and a one month PS Plus trial. The Nathan Drake statue is the Uncharted 3 collector's edition one and was part of some scratch contest.
I streetpassed like crazy today, holy shit. Must gotten at least 50 streetpasses today. I eventually just stopped checking.
All in all, was a pretty fun day. Will definitely go next year.

Held the PS4 and XB1 controllers today. Both are magical. I feel like so much research, money, and time has been sunk into both and it definitely shows.
Plan on checking out the demos for both systems tomorrow since I don't have to work a booth. (Knack, Black Flag, #DRIVECLUB = PS4; Forza 5, KI, and some others = XB1)

Were you at the Ubisoft booth the whole day? I wanted to check out AC4 and Splinter Cell but just didn't have time.
What was up with the signing stuff by the Rayman Legends board?
For the most part, yeah, I was there all day in the Blacklist booth.
The signing at the Rayman booth was either the Blacklist voice actors or the directors since both had their respective panels today.

Yeah going to try and get there early tomorrow to do the same thing. Hopefully the Sony and Microsoft booths will be less crowded.

Why? There is literally nothing else at Fanexpo worth seeing.
I went down on Friday and played Knack. Line wasn't too bad, thankfully. Only around 40 min wait, which wasn't too bad since I was with a friend. Had no interest in the XBone at all, though I did walk around their booth and saw what they had.
The major highlight of my PS4 experience was definitely the controller. It's just awesome. I always preferred the XBox controller but this was just perfect. Really, kudos to Sony for taking all the negative advice from the DS3 and working to improve on it. As for the game, it was just okay. Not the most ambitious or complex thing at all, but not bad for a launch title and there actually were some great moments in there. The visuals weren't all that impressive though and the framerate was atrocious (which was to be expected with a pre-release demo). Also, my friend was on the other Knack demo, dicked around with the controls and managed to hard lock the dev system they were using.
What stood out was obviously all the particles/shards getting blown everywhere and I think that has always been the apparent distinguishing aspect of this new generation. Every single next-gen video/demo has something like that on display with something getting destroyed and a billion pieces of rubble or whatever appearing.
The rest of my time wasn't anything too eventful, y'know, it's a Con. Though watching Hogan and Leafs fans (there for Reimer) congregate and interact around each other was fun to watch.
Anyway, I wish I could make it for the meet-up tonight but unfortunately, I have work. Have fun y'all.
