Fan Favorite PS2 Games Launching on PS4 Tomorrow

Do I have to repurchase my copy of San Andreas? I bought the PS2 Classics version on the PlayStation Store for the PS3 a year or two ago.

There should be a $5 upgrade fee, and honestly I think it's something they might implement if they get enough blowback.

Now we play the waiting game for all the games hitting today.

Loving the look of the PS2 game trophies.

When are they supposed to hit anyway? I've actually become curious about GTA3. If the frame rate and upscaling really do it justice, it MIGHT be worth a purchase.

I think three minutes ago, but you know how store updates go.

Will probably check out gta3, too

The price point is ok if you don't yet own these games.

The fact that owners of PS2 Classics on PS3 are not being given a discount is completely inexcusable. Nintendo does it. MS actually goes one step further and doesn't charge anything extra if you already own the digital license.

Arrogant Sony is back.

I have no issues with $15. But when your two competitors offer discounts or free for owning them on the last generation and you do not, then the arrogance is back.

I see a banner for it on the PS4's PSN store app, but it just says "This content cannot be selected at this time." I can see a generic app icon load before this error screen comes up when selecting Dark Cloud's banner. What gives Sony?

Still, who else is getting Rogue Galaxy? I've heard good things, and the cel-shading will really help the game still look modern I think. Xenosaga series, Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Cloud 2, etc. all need to come. Bring the JRPGs which I never had the chance to try out! Only had a Gamecube and Xbox then, so the 6th gen of JRPGs was mostly inaccessible, except for one of my favorites still Tales of Symphonia!

Did I miss something? They weren't talked about at the keynote, is this a stealth release?

When can we get these games?

I wouldn't be shocked if they saw the reaction (it wasn't just GAF from what I saw) and moved it to a blog announcement if they ever had any plans to talk about it on stage.

It should be up soon (I'd wager the next 30 minutes), on the Playstation Store web page there's nothing yet but on the PS4 store the icons for the PS2 games and Final Fantasy VII are there, and when you click them it says the content isn't available yet.

I see the one for FF VII and I can actually go to it and see screenshots.

Is this one upscaled to 1080p with improved frame rate too?

Gimma a store update. Also 6.6 gb is going to take way longer than I want it too with my bandwidth and the store.

Didn't I read Nuclear throne is coming today because I really want that too.

Since it's the PC version I would imagine it's 1080p (I hope, at least!), framerate I'm not sure on, though. It will be $15.99, if I'm remembering right.

That's a nice boot splash screen... I like it anyway!

Um?

There should be no upgrade fee.

Microsoft doesn't require a fee.

Nintendo doesn't require a fee.

Both of the competitors are completely free to transfer over the classics. Nintendo does have a purely optional fee to add some enhancements, but you can still choose to carry the games over without those enhancements at no additional charge.
