Fan Favorite PS2 Games Launching on PS4 Tomorrow

For Dark Cloud, I know this is hopeing for too much, but I really want them to fix the bug where you can't get the item to access the back areas in the Gallery of Time.

If anyone is having trouble with resolution, go into 'Sound and screen' settings and change the "Display Area Settings" it will lose the majority (If not all) of the black bars.

Currently downloading Rogue Galaxy.

I hope that buy the time they release more PS2 Classics on the system, that they'll have a system in place for players that already own the Classics on PS3 can transfer the license to the PS4. I'm not rebuying digital games I already bought on the same account. That's just silly.

I was a good 30 hours into Rogue Galaxy on my PS3 (disc version), before my PS3 broke. Then I started a fresh game, since I lost the saves, and started again on my replacement PS3, and that one ended up having the disc drive die (the system still works fine, but the disc drive can't play discs of any kind anymore). I'm looking forward to diving into Rogue Galaxy again. Loved it, and I hope this time I'll be able to actually finish it!

For the people who are complaining about the quality of the GTA San Andreas stream - they're streaming at 480p (nowhere near native res - over 60% lower resolution) and the stream is heavily compressed.

I thought this was an emulator that could do post processing effects and I would hope it would do widescreen. I guess not. Just saw GTA running on the PS4 version, and now I'm not so sure. I did buy Rogue Galaxy and will find out in about 40 minutes.

I was planning on downloading a few since a bought a shitton of them on PS3, but man that price and not even a discount... I guess I'll just get one or two when they put them, waiting for Outbreak and Socom 2

No, but the PSCX2 could do it, and I thought this was an emulator.

Those are achieved on an individual basis and often come with issues, like sprites/partcles/skybox/geometry not being drawn outside of the originally intended ratio. Stuff like GTA, once you select the widescreen option, needs the user to select a zoom mode on their display to fill the screen, like old 4:3 DVDs, VHS tapes, or broadcasts that did similar pillarboxed widescreen.

Just to verify, the GTA versions have the full soundtrack right? Michael Jackson in vice city and all that?

I wonder if i set the PS4 to 480p if it then would fill the screen. I guess I could try playing with the zoom settings on the PS4.

If they removed them because of license issues, there is zero chance they will be there.

Please tell me its 16x9. Doesn't look like it from your video. I just assumed since these were 1080p, were 16x9.

I'll be pretty upset if its 4:3.

Many games on PS2 were not natively 16:9.

Of course the internal res is still extremely high, so stretching to fullscreen isnt going to fuck up the image that much

For the PS2 both vice city and San Andreas definitely had widescreen options. If they didn't use those here that's laaaaaame
