The Fantastic Four: First Steps | Official Trailer

Pedro Pascal fatigue is real.

I am sure this one will be fine. But right now I would rather watch 10 hours on Blaise Pascal then see another thing with Pedro.

Finally Galactus shows up instead of giving the middle finger to the audience.

For the incoming whining about the Surfer, this is NOT the Sacred Timeline/Earth-616. Once the Fantastic Four cross over to the Sacred Timeline post-Secret Wars, that's when they will likely meet Norrin Radd, we'll probably even get a solo movie(s) with him. There would be no point in having a version of Norrin we know for only one (this) movie and then immediately have to develop a new version, so it makes sense to get with a different character for the sole film in this specific universe. This person who is the Surfer is Norrin's significant other in the comics so they'll likely set up his story in this one, and then we can meet Norrin proper in the next FF movie.

I'm at a loss for what the F4 could do to Galactus that a few Iowa class battleships couldn't with what we are seeing on screen. Though I suppose they lose, so there is that.

I dunno, I WANT to be more excited but these trailers just aren't doing it for me. There is zero chemistry with this cast and they all seem so awkward around each other. Very stilted.

I just saw the trailer and it looks good. I really like how the Fantastic Four powers looks. They all look like the Fantastic Four from the comics. The Thing looks amazing, Sue Storm looks pretty accurate to the comics, same with Mr Fantastic and Johnny Storm. Silver Surfer and Galactus (what was shown of him looks good so far)

I'm taking a wait and see on it due to those recent interviews. As for the female Silver Surfer. I'm fine with that since it's not the main MCU Timeline. I know they will introduce Norrin Radd later on

Yeah, my only thing was while it sounded fine in the teaser, in the trailer Ben's voice sounded a bit off. Not terrible, but just I expected deeper. But that could make for an interesting contrast, having this super-strong, large rock-skin individual who's got a very low key voice, plus his voice could get more intense when it's, you know, CLOBBERING TIME!

I'll say this I might hate all three previous Fantastic Four movies but The Thing is what what those movies got right

As for MCU The Thing, man does it look fantastic, from what was shown, I think it's the best version so far. I'm fine with the voice, it still has a gravely voice but not as deep. Also Galactus walking though New York gave me Godzilla vibes lol

I'd say the 2015 film got him wrong (unless you were ignoring that one and by "three" meant the two 2000's films and the 90's Roger Corman film, which hey, even that low budget film feels more faithful than the 2015 film), wasn't necessarily the actor's fault, but his Thing design just didn't work for me (also, why is he naked?), and making his catch phrase come from his abusive older brother was……a choice.

Still gave us an incredible, I'm sorry, FANTASTIC meme.

And while I don't think it would fit with the Doomsday/Secret Wars film as they have so much to do with the characters they'll already have, I do hope we see Miles Teller as The Maker someday. It would be great to actually make something cool come out of such an awful film.

Pedro looks so bored and depressed in every shot of this new trailer. In his defense, he may have forgotten what movie this was, as he's in all movies.
Also, Silver Surfer looks bad, like 90's-Spawn-movie-CGI bad.
 
I don't have much invested in the Fantastic Four series in general, but I do like the set design since I'm always a sucker for that 50s/60s style. I honestly don't dislike Ben's look and even the female Surfer is kinda ok for me since she does look pretty hot (had there been a female Surfer before?). the biggest turnoff for me had been the guy playing Johnny. dude seems so uncharismatic when compare to Evans. more a wet towel than Torch. oh well, I'll keep an eye out for this when it comes out and see how it reviews first I guess.

The guy playing Johnny... You should have seen him in the last season (4) of Stranger Things... Dude has a lot of charisma.

And, there was a female surfer from another universe.
 
This casting just fucking sucks. These people have zero chemistry together. Especially Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby stick out like a sore thumb.

Pedro Pascal literally has one facial expression the entire trailer. What is with this guy? I thought he was pretty great in GoT and Narcos but he's been in a downwards trajectory for quite some time now.

The jokes were bad, the drama looked lame, the costumes look whack, the acting is shit.
 
You can't escape Pedro anywhere, yesterday I saw him in an Airpods commercial and it looks like they just pulled him off the set of something else, same scruffy facial hair and vapid expression he always has. Hollywood is nuts when they go crazy with these 'it' actors.
 
I guess animating Silver Surfer's hair was too much to ask of the overworked CGI artists. Should have just made her bald like the male version because the slicked back hair looks stupid.

Also, I'm gonna say it: Joseph Quinn is annoying. He overacts in everything I've seen him in, from Stranger Things to Gladiator 2... and now this it seems.

Who cares? Norrin Radd may be the most common version of the Silver Surfer but mainstream awareness of his character doesn't go much past 'that silver dude on the surfboard'. The mainline depiction of Fury certainly wasn't his Ultimates version, and it turned out just fine.

While I think you are mostly correct, virtually no one has any real idea of Silver Surfer so its largely moot which version we get, it is a little different with Nick Fury, as we had DECADES of Sam Jackson's performances to base our expectations of his Nick Fury. Casting a high profile 'character actor' for a role that doesn't quite match the source IP is quite a bit different than casting a no name for an even more fringe version of a character that at least had some exposure. You analogy might work better if they had cast a well known actress with a characteristic delivery/acting style, say Awkwafina or Melissa McCarthy, so at least we would have a good idea how she would play it and could say whether we liked prior performances or not.

I am not an hard-core fan of comics but I know Franklin Richard is an extremely powerful being (mutant if I recall well).
It really hyped me when she said she's pregnant.

Curious to see the future of Mcu with that.
I am not up to date and I think there is some timelines shenanigans going around and this movie is not set on 616 so I hope Franklin will not be one time thing just for the movie ("F4 are now on 616 but lost everything from their previous timeline" kind of thing).
