Far Cry 4 |OT| Welcome to Kyrat

And I had no idea that Mohan turned into a scumbag. Didn't read all the journals. Only really paid attention to what happened with Mohan, Ishwari and Pagan which all seems a little sad

sabal's ending is pretty much exactly what mohan would have wanted.

ass hat... now i'm in the north and just realized i haven't taken two outposts yet without being detected. I've already cleared all the easier outposts in the south.

Any tips for technique or weapons i should employ to silently decimate some outposts?

Hunting syringe and silenced sniper rifle like z93. Meat into camps to get animals in.

The Shangri-La stuff is fantastic. It's moody, love that it's all in Hindi, just awesome.

They should do the next FC game around a fantastical/trippy/mindfuck setting like that.

awesome.
not sure if i've unlocked the z93 yet.

edit... looks like if I do my next story mission "payback" I will unlock the SA-50....
thats silence right?... and semi-auto?

Booted up the game and my game save have gone bonkers. :(

My skills? changed, the two first rows fully filled instead of the one I had chosen. The skills are locked as well since all longinus, escort, shangri freaking la, all optional missions, all bell towers, all freaking bases are marked as unsolved. Not on the map but in the menu.
The guns I had unlocked I get to keep but I don't know if it's even possible to unlock the others since the map have the towers and bases as taken but not in the unlock menues.

Liked this game a lot until now but this... Thanks a lot ubi, really.

I am not replaying this game, what if the bug happens again!? fuck that and choke on an eagle ubisoft. I am done and just needed to vent before uninstalling it.

The game is buggy as hell, that's for sure. I fell through the world three times at the same spot during a mission. I almost quit playing then. I ended up finishing the game, but I spent half the time I did with it as I did Far Cry 3 and I traded it back to Best Buy already to get my money back.

What platform? I have it on X1, 12 hours in, no issues

Just bought the Buzzsaw, jesus is that gun OP, and I love it. Getting that Changing Lanes achievement is basically impossible on random co-op which is really annoying me.

Finally got time to start this today. Kinda mad at myself for buying this on Xbox instead of ps4, but who could've predicted Best Buy would have a B2G1 this late in the year.

Anyway Loving Pagan Min intro & opening act. Shooting feels great, the opening got me into the game in a way Far Cry 3 couldn't. I loved things FC2 & FC3 but it never reached the original for me. So far this is the ultimate far cry.

Graphically it looks next gen but idk if it's the cross gen or the p's but there's a level of detail missing. funny how this whole gen, whether it's true or not, I will be paranoid about the p's

Even with advice I can't get the video to embed. I'm so shit at forums. Here's a GIF though!

Just finished exploring out Southern Kyrat with pretty much all the locations/quests/items. Absolutely amazing journey so far. So cool just to wander around when on a mission and discover all these fantastic locations.

Was doing a mission for Longinus in the upper right of South Kyrat and afterwards wandered around and found this awesome waterfall descent with a golden door at the bottom that I'd read a note about in some other location previously. Love the way all the notes connect and the world is so vividly brought to life.

Earlier was in the middle of a tiger/bear brawl on a cliffside and weakened both with sniper rifle to the point where both were running from me and then finished them off with the bow. Then went to the edge of the cliff to find a karma event where a bunch of bad guys were lined up together holding a guy hostage 15 feet away, so I took out the grenade launcher and blew them all up from the cliffside then sniped the stragglers that came to investigate and sniped a tiger that was after my newly freed guy. Then grappled down and untied him jumped in a jetski and went exploring the nearby river. Was checking out a hut when a Courier event came by and grenaded the truck into a flaming mess. It was on a bridge and both sides of the bridge were engulfed in flames and nothing could get by while both allied and enemy trucks were lining up on both sides shrieking about the flames. Then ran out and helped the allies.

Game is just filled with non-stop absolutely amazing non-scripted experiences. It's the perfect fusion of a Bethesda rpg and Just Cause 2's sandbox destruction. About the only thing I'd like for FC5 is going even more Bethesda and making it a full fledged rpg with dialogue choices multiple outcomes of individual quests.

Also I'm stoked that even after 20-25 hours now I've only seen 1/3rd of the world that's out there, but at the same time the game is so much fun that I wish the world map was even BIGGER and that it was a 100-300 hour game like Skyrim or something. Because all the time spent is fantastic memorable experiences and it never feels like a sandbox game chore hunt.

My only complaints are:

1. The economy is broken. If you're exploring and opening chests everywhere, doing all the quests, hunting, etc... you have so much money and there's not enough stuff to buy. I've bought every possible thing and I still am always running about my max wallet, which is frustrating because I'm also filling up my loot bag constantly and if I have max wallet money I can't auto-sell my loot and empty that so I can pick up more loot! Game either needs items to be way more expensive or just needs more shit to buy!

2. I'm pretty mixed about the Himalaya linear missions. I've done 3 so far and 2 of them kind of were kind of bad/weak because your visibility sucks, the pressure of the oxygen meter and being stuck outside the world so can't improvise too much just makes them a lot less fun. But then I did a Hurk mission inside an ice glacier and that was actually pretty fun linear stealth mission through a cool location.

3. Also what kind of ties into that a bit is how Guns for Hire (which should be the equivalent of having a co-op player when you're not playing co-op) is something you can't use on the majority of missions. The only times I can actually call them up are when just running around and that's the opposite of when I need them. Would rather have them for missions, especially ones where healing items are limited and you're fighting heavy soldiers, helicopters and all sorts of high damage enemies all at once.

Oh and as an aside, I keep wanting to use my explosives (mines/C4) but I yet to find a single situation where they'd be more useful than stealth kills/arrows/explosives/etc... maybe for defending a position but there's only been like 2 of those missions so far.

But yeah, such a great game! I love Kyrat and if I was playing this on PS4 (instead of PC) I'm probably constantly be making video clips of all the amazing non-scripted experiences I run into on a daily basis.

Also because this game is so Bethesda, it makes me really want the PC community to somehow be able to get some mods in. A few mods to balance the economy and maybe a slightly more "hardcore" realism mode would make it even better.

They should just skip the middle man next game, and let you become ruler. This game just makes me want a remade Scarface: The world is yours, as crazy as that may sound.

I want a story epilogue where I kill
Amita
and make myself
King
. All of the drug money should be mine!

Really? Hm, guess it isnt too surprising. Thats actually pretty interesting

That's kind of the point. It is a repeat of the events of the past.
if you let sabal win, it is like mohan won, and everything will be shit. If you let amita win, it is like pagan won, and everything will be shit, but without your mother to soften "him" a bit. Pagan seems to be well aware of all of this, which is why he stresses that choices matter, because he knows they don't.

this ties with shangri-la, where, if you read the correspondence between Robert and his wife, you see that he goes through kyrat and shangri-la thinking that he'll save the place, whereas in the end the only thing that has changed is Robert himself. Kyrat stays the same.

Honestly, people do not give FC enough credit for the story. As far as shooters go, it is quite well done.

Got the Buzzsaw and the Ripper last night. The former is so OP that it’s amazing. I took out the last two forts without weakening them first thanks to it. Helicopter coming? No problem; mow it down in a second. Crazy armored guys coming? Mow them down in a split second. It was hilarious taking out the forts with it; you just tap the button and it would send someone flying. I’ve now switched to the Ripper which is still OP but not at that level. Four more outpost left and then that sniper rifle will be mine.

How do you weaken a fort? I took out the first two without some kind of weakening

The fort doesn't really get weakened all that much, but forts get weakened when you take out the person in charge of them.

Two ways I know of are that:
1. It will have less people guarding it
2. The front door will open
3. The minefield will disappear

I took most of the forts in Very hard state. If you use stealth and just pick off enemies from a vantage point they are all very doable. For Pagan Min's fort I just used the underground entrance with a buzzsaw and mowed down enemies!

If you are a stealth player and use stealth weapons they are all takeable in a very hard state.

I just rambo'd in with an assault rifle and rocket launcher for the copters lol. Good to know you can weaken them though

I haven't even touched the story. That's what makes the game fun. All I'm doing is trying to capture forts and open the whole map.

I apologize if this has been covered in here...but is there a way to quick filter the map on PS4 to turn everything off...and then I can just turn on what I want to see? Instead of de-deselecting everything I do not want to see....

Thanks

Whats the deal with Kyrat international airport? I keep gunning enemies down and they keep coming. Is there no way to liberate it? I've already liberated the fortress, bell towers and outposts surrounding it.

You liberate it during a story mission.

Yeah the Airport is not an outpost, it cannot be liberated until you reach a certain part of the story.

Does anyone on PS4 happen to have a key for me to use for my son? He wants to trial the game, before buying but none of his friends have the game.

My PSN is: ChrisUK26324

Well I got the Buzzsaw and it just breaks the game. I mean, everything just dies. It's like a magic stick I just point and the object unlucky enough to be caught in the sights just turns really really dead.

I'm going to have to put this gun away, it just ruins the challenge.

I'm stuck. I'm trying to do a Yogi & Reggie mission. I just kicked them out of my house, and they are living in a tent next to it. I go up to the Tent door...and there is no button prompt to start mission.

Thing is, I've cleared all main missions, all bell towers and forts/strong holds (that I can, because I can't go up North it says).

So Yogi missions are the only thing left to do to progress. And I can't start the mission. WTF

EDIT: Nvm I'm blind. There is a Willis mission I have to do. But still don't know why I can't do the Yogi one. Oh well. Till later.

Just beat the game. I still have a few things to do around the map but I think I completed most of the side stuff. I enjoyed the main story, though I feel like it could have been more. A lot of the characters have very little screen time, etc...

Got the season's pass as part of the Sony buy 100$ get 15$ back deal, so i'm looking forward to the Yeti campaign

Jesus, the music that plays when you're
infiltrating De Pleur's party
is so hypnotizing. That entire sequence is so hypnotic and creepy and skin-crawling. This game does an amazing job of making you hate your enemy and want them dead.

Awesome mission for sure, probably my favourite so far.

Surprisingly grim too. Torture, prostitution, slavery. I really liked the atmosphere.

Felt awesome
rescuing those hostages. That one guy slapping that woman, sneaking up on him and slit his throat.
. So good.
