These nvidia 'features' just always seem like a gimmick anyway.
txaa is far from a gmimick when it works. see black flag/crysis 3/watch dogs

Did they patch out the ability to skip the intros?
They did. Sneaky bastards.

Also, I went back to Far Cry 3 because I couldn't get Far Cry 4 running through Steam streaming. I think 3 is the better game. I may be skewed towards 3 because of the performance issues but... I just like it better for some reason.
So realistically, is this game on PC more of a headache than its worth right now? Should I just wait longer for the issues to be patched?
i5-2500k
GTX 670 2GB
8GB RAM
I don't need to max it, just something like High at decent FPS without horrendous stutter. Is it possible right now?

The new patch is causing a memory leak for me. Having task manager open is showing the game using 3GB+ of memory. Game ran fine before 1.5 :/
First time I've ever had my PC tell me I've ran out of memory when I have 8GB of RAM.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for your reports. We have identified a memory leak that is most likely the culprit behind the new performance issues that have popped up after the 1.5 patch, particularly during Open World game play.
I'll keep you updated once we have more information.
welp
managed to get rid of crushed blacks and ghosting by turning a few settings down (ao/aa), but now I can't play the game for more than 5 minutes without a CTD.
I started playing today, put visuals on Ultra (GTX 970) and it seems like it runs at 60 FPS, but I haven't done any heavy fighting or explored all that much yet
I haven't watched a lot of gameplay videos, but for some reason expected the game to look way better.. its not ugly or anything, just feels that it doesn't look much better than Far Cry 3 which I played on an older PC

Graphic settings aren't applied properly probably, game looked better to me a few patches before now it looks worse.
Yep. It simply does not look as good as it did at release and up to the 1.4 Patch. I noticed straight away as soon as I loaded into a Trading Post after 1.5. Huge downgrade in lighting.
Still "unplayable" for me with SLI. Shadows are nearly jet black, and anti-aliasing causes a ghost image overlay after hitting Esc even once. Not playing it 'til this shit's fixed, if it gets fixed.
Load times are twice as long now. What the hell Ubi? Like, seriously.
How's the stuttering now?
Is it anywhere near playable yet?
On W8/8.1, cores are unparked, right?

It's totally playable for me (and has been since launch) on my 970/3570K at 1440 with high/ultra settings and SMAA. Usually hangs in the 50s without any major drops (monitor @ 90hz and I cap framerate in mid 60s via RivaTuner - this might help pacing, idk). Not sure if I got lucky with my setup or if I'm just not sensitive to stutter, but I have not had that issue -despite reading many reports of others with similar PCs having a terrible time. I finished the game last week and have been running around doing side stuff for fun and I've had a pretty good experience in general with the performance.

I'm currently struggling to get my i5-3570k,GTX 770 computer to run at 60fps while playing the game at Very High. What is the best settings to get a 770 running at 60fps?
A 770 isn't powerful enough for very high and 60fps, drop settings to high with some Nvidia stuff disabled if you absolutely want a relatively stable 60fps.I'm currently struggling to get my i5-3570k,GTX 770 computer to run at 60fps while playing the game at Very High

Even on my system at ultra settings (without hairworks and costly AA solutions, everything else maxed including enhanced god rays, PCSS and HBAO+) 60fps locked isn't possible, it definitely dips here and here.
But I can live with sub60 framerate so I go for it and the game looks really great.
I don't mean to start an argument but there are many recent releases which are as taxing as Ubisoft games so a 770 might not be "enough" for those as well.It is powerful enough for other games, not Ubisoft ones.
They're too next gen
Whatever temporal component SMAA uses seems to only work in motion. As long as I"m moving my viewpoint AA looks great. The second I stand still the temporal component switches off and the foliage becomes a sea of jagged edges. The switch is very visible when it turns on and off. Is this normal or is there a way to fix it?
I've noticed this too. And you know what's funny.. I could be crazy, but I think it worked properly before 1.5 as well. It seems to have a lot more jaggies to me on 1.5 and in movement it's fine.Whatever temporal component SMAA uses seems to only work in motion. As long as I"m moving my viewpoint AA looks great.
