I'm ashamed to admit, that I haven't seen not one of the George Romero classics :( *crawls in corner* and I'm not a fan of the horror genre at all, in fact I don't like many horrors despite zombie films, so what are your favourites?

I think the Resident Evil films could have turned out great if it had someone better at the helm and Land of the Dead looks to be awesome.

P.S.- I know I can't call myself a zombie movie fan till I watch George Romero's work.

Maybe not my favorite but just to throw in a good one from outside of the usual suspects...

Boat breaks down in the ocean, passengers row ashore to a deserted island full of Nazi zombies. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM CINEMA? Fun as hell.

I thought Shaun of the Dead was pretty damn average, thought I would love it since I love Spaced but I didn't think it was that funny.

1.) Return of the Living Dead

Night of the Living Dead - original and 90 remake are good
Dawn of the Dead original is great.
I love Day of the Dead but it's the least liked by most.

Return of the Living Dead 2 is ok.

Wow you really have no taste in horror movies. 28 Days Later wasn't a zombie movie btw.

My favorites are Romero's Dead quadrilogy, Shaun of the Dead, Dellamorte Dellamore aka Cemetary Man, and Re-Animator.

Then just what exactly was it? And as I said before, I don't care for horror movies :)

I like nearly all of the well known zombie flicks, but the standouts for me are Dawn of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead 2004, Return of the Living Dead and Night of the Living Dead 1990 just for Tony Todd kicking all sorts of zombie ass with just a freaking crowbar.

ah geez, do Deadites count?

...
or are they not zombie enough

Deadites are demon possessed humans.

Zombie elitest. They may have not been the traditional Romero zombie, but they were zombies. Get over it.

:lol Sorry but the people in 28 days later were infected by a disease that caused them to rage. Zombies have lose all motor skills and guided only by their craving for human flesh.

The distinction here is lost on me, other than one moves slow and eats you and the other moves fast and just rips you apart. Bah. Semantics. :)

I can't believe you guys are discussing the semantics of zombies. @_@

Haven't seen many in my life, but I will say that I'm a fan of 28 Days Later and Shaun of the Dead.

Dead Alive
Return of the Living Dead 3, Mindy Clark = THE MOST FAPPABLE ZOMBABE EVAR!

Check out the Romero stuff, it was fairly progressive for the time; although the end of Night will have you screaming obscenities at the screen. >:|

Why? I always thought it was one of the best parts in the movie.

HE MUST DIE - BECAUSE HE IS BLACK! >:|

BULLSHIT!

It's great, and it totally makes sense for the times; but in this day and age. . . FACE PUNCHING OFFENSE!

I like zombie films however there is one zombie film I only got to see once and never again. I loved it. It was very bizarre and I only remember bits and pieces.

What I remember:

They had two zombies making out and having sex. The female zombie during the kissing bites off the male zombies lower lip and eats it. They have a zombie baby that is just evil.

There is a scene where they are reading something about a locked chest with a dead bride inside. When they open the chest the brides' skeleton is there. At this point the movie tries to scare you with the brides' lungs, intestines, heart, and other organs jumping out and attacking the person.(Sketchy memory.)

Key detail about this zombie flick is that the organs can attack you as well. Like when a zombies' head is cut off his organs slip out of the neck openning and attack you.

There is a scene where the guy gets a lawnmower and just starts mutilating zombies left and right.

There is a final scene where his mother comes out as a colossal zombie. At one point her stomach opens and it takes her son back in. The girl tries to rescue him.

That is all I remember. :-( Help me identify this zombie flick.

Original Dawn of the Dead. Still haven't seen Night of the Living Dead (I have it, it's just still wrapped for a fun occasion).

I use to love looking at that cover. Even though at times I would get scared thinking about it a night, I still loved it.

Forgot to mention that 28 Days was really refreshing. I ignored this film till a friend bored brought it over from blockbuster to watch.

No man can ignore The Cillian Murphy!

I like pretty much every zombie movie (Of course the Romero trilogy + 1 are the best!), eventhough I am so incredibly terrified of the idea of zombies. Mmm, masochism.

Undead was an ok flick and the first 10 minutes of Dawn of the Dead '04 were pretty damned cool, but the best zombie movies are:
Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Land of the Dead ( You know it'll rock)
Shaun of the Dead
Day of the Dead
Zombie 2

28 Days Later was not a zombie movie. It might have been cleverly disguised as one, but they ain't no zombies! :D

I don't watch many zombie movies, but I remember really enjoying one back in the 80s. It was about people being trapped in a mall with a bunch of zombies. The premise was really cool. Getting to raid the mall for equipment to off zombies with. What's the name of that movie?

Well, mine are Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead and 28 DAYS LATER.

Oh wait... yeah, it can't be a zombie movie because they're given an explanation why they are zombies that is different from the explanation from the Romero movies. I get it! You have to actually die to become a zombie, and the infected from 28 DAYS LATER don't die! If the guy's dead like for a complete 10 seconds, and then turns into a zombie, that makes it a zombie movie! Those 10 seconds, you really need to have a zombie movie! You just CAN'T compare the two! It's absolutely impossible to rank 28 days later as a zombie movie. ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE.

You can be a dick about it all you want, but 28 Days later isn't a zombie movie. Zombies don't die due to lack of hunger, the infected in 28 Days later do. They're close, but 28 Days later isn't a zombie film. Sorry.
