11 - Llanto Maldito - To be honest this is probably my worst movie of this list, I only watched because it's easy to reach on Max streaming, very generic 4/10
12 - Blood Red Sky - It's a nice vampire movie, 20 minutes less and would be better, but it's decent 6,5/10
13 - All Hallow's Eve - The first Terrifier, it's not exactly what I expected hehe, but it was nice to see the first one from 2013, not gore as the next one from 2016 - 6/10

Almost catching my pace of 1 movie per day, I think I'll reach this weekend
It's incredible how October is probably my most busy month since I participate on 31 days of Horror

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Film 10: Weedjies - Halloweed Night
Terrible film. Bad acting. Insane plot. Somehow 10/10 soundtrack and sound design.

Film 11: Munchies
Whoever wrote this movie was high on Weedjies.

I watched "In a Violent Nature" earlier tonight. It's probably the worst horror movie I've ever seen. 1 out of 5. The 1 only being because it had some nice nature shots. Beyond that, it's a complete bore-fest that tries to be Jason so bad. Can't believe it's getting a sequel. To add insult to injury, the last 15min feel like 30+min as you're locked in a car listening to a pointless dry monologue that goes nowhere.

The only surprisingly good newer horror movie I've seen recently has been Smile. I'm looking forward to the second half of this month to start watching the classics and end October on a good note movie-wise.

Both terrible and weirdly gory at the same time. A movie they cared more about the effects, mostly. Than anything else

And

And this never gets old (dodgy cgi tentacles aside). This so hits the mark this time of year ❤️

Also have aliens (after watching Romulus), predator, probably the second one as well and my favourite the thing.

I’ll count beeetlejuice 2 as well. Even though it was second watch

All for horror month (got blind fury to start November with something completely different)

Was playing High on Life which features 2 full horror movies that I watched lmao so Ill add those here as well

Ill give it a 5/10 it was pretty rofl, but its the funny kind of bad. Also I feel like thiv movie was an inspiration for call of duty zombies, the zombie demons trying to go through the windows, the idiots trying to secure the windows, even the sounds they made sounded exactly the same as in cod.

And the second is not much of a horror but kinda mid

Prolly a 3/10, very dumb but again, just another of those hillarious dumb like Samurai Cop.

The only film I watched much of in game was the one with that smoking hot chick taking a shower, watched those 5 minutes over and over :p

Thats a very underutilized game feature though, I think a lot more games should have entire films embedded within them.

This movie starring Jenna Malone was pretty tame, not a lot of horror but some supernatural possession stuff and gothic elements.

#13 Luz (2018)

From the same guy that did Cuckoo which I watched earlier, this is his first feature and it is only a smidge above a movie school graduation project. I liked the 16mm stock and the liminal spaces, but even with the low budget a more interesting story could have been told.

As its customary, I've also rewatched as I always do almost yearly

Still the best horror movies of all time and I will never get tired of them.

I decided to also watch

And Im not sure where to put it. The goods are that whoever was in charge of the movie atmosphere and the details, they did a great job nailing the props, the sound effects, and environments just like the first movie and the game Alien Isolation. These things are super important for me and it's why I might consider it the third best Alien movie. The actors I didnt like anyone, no one memorable. Im not sold on the main chick yet, but the ending and the floating acid scenes were quite good, although the ending was clearly Ressurection all over again which everyone hated except me. Ill need to rewatch it someday to decide on it, but for now, it was pretty good.

#14 Caddo Lake (2024)

Some nice images and cool concept that was very reminiscent of the German TV show DARK. Felt like it didn't do enough with the theme, movie was over before much happened.

#15 Lisa Frankenstein (2024)

Teen horror comedy written by Diablo Cody and while I low key enjoyed the first part, as soon as the "monster" appears it lost its footing a bit.

I watched Silver Bullet last night. Not overtly horror, but still a good October movie. Gary Busey is great in this. Cigarette smoking, whiskey drinking "cool uncle" role model for the kids lol.

I watched The House That Jack Built earlier this week as well. Again, not overtly horror, but dark enough for me to consider a relevant October movie. It's basically a slasher movie. It's around 30min too long, but everything before the full-on arthouse epilogue was pretty solid.

The book was such a novel (heh heh) way to portray a werewolf story, I LOVED it as a kid. Really a forgotten gem (of many in the early King pantheon).

Poor Corey Haim as well, hard to watch anything with him knowing all the shit he was going through.

I've rewatched the original Ju-On: The Grudge after many years and, oh boy, it didn't age well. Most scenes are now funny instead of creepy. I'm glad that Shutter didn't share the same fate - I've seen it again about 2 years ago and the atmosphere & scares are still awesome.

#16 Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988)

I feel this is an underrated and somewhat forgotten 80s slasher franchise and I have enjoyed the two I have seen a lot. 80s hotties, great gore, some humor and a charismatic killer.

#17 Murder Party (2007)

Started out OK and sure this was a no-budget movie but that didn't excuse the horrible and boring middle part.

All 3 Sleepaway Camp movies are really weird, fun little movies.

I rewatched them back-to-back a while back, the first one is the closest to a real movie and is just... odd. The sequels are both clearly intended as campy fun (no pun-intended) to be enjoyed ironically.

14 - Phantom Town 6,5/10
15 - Immaculate - 7/10
16 - The Town Without Halloween 5/10
17 - Cube - 7/10
18 - Willy’s Wonderland - 7/10
19 - Werewolves Within - 7/10
20 - School Spirits - 6,5/10

I need to watch 11 movies in 6 days, let's see if I am capable of hehehe

Long Legs man was that movie good, electric stuff from Nic Cage because of that creepiness I recommend it. It’s a little rocky during the beginning but how about that ending.
I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. Nic Cage was definitely the best aspect of the movie. I felt the opposite, I was on board from the beginning and thought it got rocky toward the last 1/4 of the movie. I wasn't really into the explanation of why/how the crimes were occurring and feel they should've gone all out for the ending, instead of going for implied brutality.

Also, anyone here go see Smile 2? I watched it today and was disappointed, I thought part 1 was much better. I wasn't into the pop-singer emphasis of part 2.

The last week of October 2024 is here, make it count! :messenger_ogre:
This week I plan to watch:
- Alien
- An American Werewolf in London
- Planet Terror
- The Thing (saving this for Halloween night)
- Event Horizon
