Not once in that article do they call it terrorism. Wish I could say I was surprised.
At least HuffPo is calling them terrorists.

Who's been working the weak minded up and demonizing Muslims in the US?

Trumps campaign. That's the answer.

The investigation has been going on for 8 months. I'm sure Trump validated their plans, but we don't know exactly what inspired them and it's dangerous to point the finger at anyone that could have influenced their initial plan which could have been made a long time ago.

My point is, there are not many details at this point and it's wrong to imply anything at this time - even if I agree that Trump most likely had some influence.

For all we know, the Paris and San Bernadino attacks could have set their plans in motion and Trump just happened to validate how they felt.

When it Trump going to say it? Why won't he say it? Radical Christian Terrorists? He has to name them.

I'm sure the attack being planned for November 9th was just coincidental.

Radical. Christian. Terrorism.

He won't even say the words, but that's the first step to combating a problem. Saying the words.

Radical. Christian. Terrorism.

I doubt it is, but we don't have enough details at this point to make a concrete claim that it wasn't a coincidence.

It doesn't matter if the actions of these terrorists were sparked by a specific thing Trump said himself. Trump is engaging in the exact kind of Republican rhetoric that has been fueling this kind of hate and violence for years.

Militia would be people that protect. These are terrorists and I wish they would have said as much. I guess if you're white and American you can't be a terrorist.

Militia? Call them what they really are, call them terrorists.

Good on the FBI for preventing a tragedy at least.

I absolutely agree with you, but it's dangerous to assume something that hasn't been detailed by authorities yet.

Militias folks. They're just itching for a reason to use their weapons and this dumb clown Trump is precisely the enabler they've been waiting for.

It was absolutely a planned attack motivated by xenophobia, likely racist and of course intolerance for the Muslim religion. I think you guys are a bit too over-hyped about calling this terrorism though. I mean, fine call it terrorism, I don't really care. I care more that it's attempted mass f'ing murder, not whether it fits under that word or not. Also, I saw no mention of Christianity in any of their statements so I think some of you are trying to shoehorn that into it.

... How is this not terrorism?

I mentioned this to a Trump fan.
Their response... "Liberals made this up to make conservatives look bad.".

Militia movement members tend to hold religiously extreme (Christian) views as well as their extreme political views. Christian Identity in particular is pretty popular in those circles, though I don't know if that was the case here.

And yeah, like others said, it's obviously terrorism. Bombing a minority you hate fits the bill, and their stated goal of causing people to "wake up" implies that they hoped to spark a broader conflict, same as McVeigh.

It was a coordinated plan to bomb a block of housing based on their religion for fucks sake, what else would you classify it under? Dumbest fucking post I've read all day.

I never said one way or another. I don't care what you call it, I just find it funny how the #1 thing you guys seem to care about is what to label it.

Re-read my post, you didn't get it. I even prefaced it by saying it was a planned attack motivated by xenophobia but that's not good enough for you regressives.

Really? The three men were members of an organization called The Crusaders.

Because not calling terrorist actions by white people terrorism is one of the many, many, many...ways our society tries to lessen the severity of these heinous actions when committed by white people when it comes to how they're perceived.

And it should be called out.
