FBI reviewing emails found on devices used by Weiner/Abedin

Comey is turning the FBI into a partisan vehicle during a presidential election. He needs to go.

Or he's found something that warrants further investigation. Either he waits until after the election and gets slammed for playing politics and widely labeled as corrupt, or else he makes a statement like he has.

What else are you suggesting he does? He's not about to make detailed statements about the early stages of a fresh investigation.

The angst and hand-wringing in this thread is hilarious. Don't even try to pretend that Clinton's conduct throughout this email fiasco hasn't been anything short of appalling - from wiping the servers, to her constant lying on the campaign trail that everything she did was within guidelines at the time.

Post history checks out. Can't wait to see less of this shit after election day.

This is like... nothing. As opposed to... everything that is wrong from with this ignorant racist sociopath? Can't you spot the difference?

Two wrongs don't make a right. Is Hillary the least awful candidate? Sure. Does that make her fit for public office? No. And it definitely doesn't mean corrupt practices should be swept under the rug.

So basically...

An on going theme with GOP and Hillary accusations

Grab them by the pussy couldn't even survive a full week, this election is a tire fire that swirls through "campaign ending" bait every week.

People ITT pretending there needs to be substance to a story to alter public perception of a presidential candidate. The sad reality of 2016 is that there doesn't need to be substance.

The media are loving this and it's because taps into a narrative people believe (rightly or wrongly) and therefore engage with.

That's not a lie though. That's why she wasn't indicted. She didn't break the law.

Her lifelong experience makes her fit for public office. Please provide evidence of said corruption which disqualifies her.

Or maybe she is great and made a mistake with "cyber". I know someone else who doesn't get a clue with "cyber". My boss from my last company was the worst educated person I know regarding computers, yet he was among the best men and CEOs on earth.

Wait, so this is related to Anthony Weiner? What?

The FBI needs to come out and say what the hell is going on. The way this announcement has been handled is totally irresponsible.

I don't even know what that means? I'm guessing that I have to blindly agree with everything Hillary does here.

No, it's that she's admitted it was a mistake, but multiple government inquiries and trials have resulted in nothing substantial and the investigators concluding she did nothing remotely illegal.

We've been through this. Multiple times.

Making completely baseless corruption claims and outright fucking lies that she's not "fit" for office is status quo for Reddit, not here. You're totally full of hot air and it's tiring.

What? The Access Hollywood tape is still talked about and is pretty much the main thing that stuck heavily with Trump along with his tax returns and Birtherism stuff. In an interview with O'Reilly just yesterday it was referenced, and yesterday we had a 12th sexual assault victim come forward. It survived bigly, and if there's one single thing you can point to that sunk Trump (though I would argue the weight of everything truly sunk him), it was that.

Comey released a vague letter that gave no details on information that we'd discover just an hour after the story broke. The man isn't stupid. He knew the effect such vagueness would have. It was a partisan move, and it wasn't his first of this election. His July press conference was unprecedented, and unprofessional, as was his editorializing during said press conference. The guy is a partisan hack through and through, and he diminishes the FBI as an organization with moves like this.

I just watched a group of 3 coworkers celebrating this news. Like literally hugging each other because they think this is gonna cost her the election.

That's fine, but what are you suggesting he does instead? Seems like a lose-lose to me. If there's nothing to it this letter will have done serious harm to his career.

Hillary is beyond fit for public office. She is the most experienced candidate in the history of the United States.

If he doesn't have anything to say and has no new information, he doesn't have to do anything.

Hillary is the most vetted candidate that there ever has been. So many investigations into her and nothing criminal ever came up. But go ahead folks, talk about how she's crooked, should be in jail, etc and vote for Donald "Grab them by the Pussy" Trump. Nobody will stop you.

Why not try explaining why you support her conduct across this whole email saga, rather than insulting me?

this email saga continues to be fucking nothing, just like the Benghazi saga, and every other saga people have been trying to use to drag her down for decades. I'm not childish enough to think this shit actually matters, nor will I use whatever privileges I have to be ok with dragging people through the mud for no good reason when Donald fucking Trump, Mike Pence, and the rest of the deplorables are waiting on the other side. Be better, get your priorities checked, instead obsessing over this crap, and basically saying, "both sides, am i right?".

Clinton can replace Comey right? Because this partisan hackery is disgusting, and I wish the news was calling it out. Instead, we still have headlines of "NEW EMAIL INVESTIGATION!"

"As part of the investigation into Anthony Weiner, we are examining the electronic devices used jointly by Mr Weiner and his wife at the time, Clinton aide Huma Abedin. We discovered three messages unrelated to Mr. Weiner's case referencing Secretary Clinton's use of a private server. Secretary Clinton is not included in these 3 messages. We are performing follow up inquiries into these 3 messages. I would like to amend my prior testimony to Congress with this information."

If Comey can be as specific as you are here, why wasn't he? I'm not going to try and pretend know what Comey can and can't say regarding this investigation, which is why I don't exactly condemn him for being vague. By most accounts, Comey was a consummate professional and was the least partisan person according to most Democrats. Coming out of no where to sabotage Clinton -- in what would be an OBVIOUS attempt at sabotage -- makes absolutely no sense.

His letter should have had details. We shouldn't be finding out that the emails weren't withheld by Clinton's team, weren't from her, and weren't on her server from third party sources.

This is the only thing that makes me afraid she might not be president. Damn it Hillary........

What a mess of an election. I want this to be over.

the stupidest part of the whole email thing is that the Private email server story got mixed and confused then intertwined with the Wikileaks DNC hacks

you got tons of people who think that the DNC hacked emails are the same thing as the emails from the SoS Private Server

then people say EMAILZ!!!!!

LOL fuck this all
