What about all the other stuff in that post? She won a senate seat because of embarrassing GOP 2016 primaries?

She won a senate seat because anything with a pulse would've won that senate seat if it had a D next to the name, and I'm not entirely certain about that first requirement.

The news networks need to stop referring to this as a bombshell. We literally don't know anything for sure. It could be a bombshell and it could be a nothingburger (and from the info we do have, it seems like it's the latter), so let's hold off on making any decisive statements. But of course they won't do that because they need to create a narrative.

The announcement is a bombshell though, we won't know the results until after the last vote has been cast, so the implications are quite negative for the Democrats.

It's close because Donald Trump is a celebrity.

It's close because he represents team Red and people hate Hillary.

If anything, this election should be a stark reminder that it doesn't matter who's running from either major party; 40% of the national vote is basically their floor.

I'd still be surprised (not shocked) if he gets to 43%. Unless this absolutely destroys her in key states, it doesn't really matter. As long as her safe states remain safe, she doesn't need anything else.

That just speaks to how weak the GOP side was. Those primary debates were a complete joke.

They were a complete joke because Trump made them that way. Trump did his damndest to make the GE debates a joke as well. Go look at how differently Clinton handles Trump than any of the GOP did. They all allowed themselves to get offended and angry and they willingly went down to Trump's level. That is a phenomenon that would be just as, if not more, likely in a one on one debate.

Clinton was prepared and had a plan and, more importantly, had the confidence to stick to that plan. Ted Cruz is a national debate champion and he allowed himself to be pulled into Trump's crazy. Give Clinton some credit for staying above that.

I don't believe that you can win on the issues anymore unfortunately. People vote on party lines and independents vote for who they like more personally. I can't explain why the race is this close any other way.

It's "close" because Trump is the republican nominee.

I don't think the facts agree with this. This was the most expensive Senate race EVER (adjusted for inflation). The reality is that the Republican machine threw everything it had at Hillary and she only pulled away late, particularly after Lazio overstepped during the debate.

I don't think people understand just how much the GOP hates Hillary. The money spent to defeat her throughout her career is obscene and not supportive of the facts here that "any D" would win.

People can't give credit to Hillary for anything. Her senate seat is won just because she's a democrat (Regardless that Republicans were still popular at the time or that she had high unfavorables and an relentless media on her back) and that anyone could've defeated Trump...the GOP primary debaters were just too weak.

Anything a woman does isn't impressive enough.

That is essentially the tee up before he resigns or is fired. After the election.
Yeah, he's toast. If Comey's smart (admittedly a very big if) he will announce that he'll be stepping down in order to give incoming President Clinton a free hand to shape the FBI. That's really about all he can do to save face. Otherwise he'll be forced out in disgrace. The FBI hates being tainted with politics so I can't imagine all that many people within it willing to speak out for Comey after this stunt.

Technically, I'd say that the Republican field was all sorts of weak. However it does highlight how well Clinton has handled Trump - everything has been pretty on point, and that's far from easy to accomplish.

Yup. Hillary Clinton is one of if not the most publicly scrutinized politician in history and she still manages to do her job and come out on top. I admire her for that. Give credit where credit is due.

This is also the reason Bernie would have done terribly against Trump in the Debates. He would have gotten angry, drawn into the Mudd with Trump.

I still don't think this will be enough for Trump to get in. The nature of the announcement can be interpreted either direction and the electoral math is still in Hillary's favor.

The electoral math/state makeup preludes any scandal. I don't believe people are going to switch their vote because of "This MAY OR MAY NOT BE something".

So everyone who is rooting against her, saying she's cooked, calling bias to channels who don't report it only the emails likely have nothing to do with her...

But she's cooked I guess.

Come on .. I know you on Poligaf called us Bernie voters during the primaries losers, WHITE MALES etc. but you know that Bernie would've had fun with Trump during the debates too.

Looks like all of the events where Obama or Biden were scheduled to speak on behalf of Clinton were cancelled last night.

Must be all about Huma/Wiener...

EDIT: looks like the events around the picture are unclear and people are getting railed. Removed the image link.

People absolutely will.

Would a staunch supporter? No.

Would someone who was on the edge but thought 'meh, I'll just go for Hilary'? Absolutely this could make them change their mind.

I'd suggest that kind of person would be more likely to just not vote rather than go to the other side, but this sort of stuff will change some people's opinion of how they will vote.

You must follow a lot of interesting and misleading pro-Trump twitter feeds for an independent voter. Either way, here's the latest update from the WH itself.

President Obama has a very busy week ahead of him. According to a schedule released by the White House, the president plans to campaign Tuesday through Friday next week for Hillary Clinton. He is likely to keep up the vigorous campaign schedule in the days leading up to the election.

Do you ever get tired of playing yourself? I'm just asking for a friend.

So Obama is going to campaign for Hillary without having events?

Maybe try reading other posts in the thread and doing actual research before posting Trump twitter shit. Like this post:

You couldn't be arsed to go to the actual website and see that they're still there?

https://hillaryspeeches.com/scheduled-events/

Seriously? Do you ever get tired of playing yourself?

Or you being a terrible discerning of reliable sources.

Hmmm. Looks like they were removed and the put back.
The campaign probably considered the optics a bit late.

Well, that exchange was good for a laugh. Anything to make you feel like where you got that is a reliable source.

I don't want to backseat mod, but this is a decent message board -- seriously drop the act or do some independent research when you share whatever popped up on your facebook feed. Fucking hate how 90% of info shared on Facebook by conservatives has some website name like FREEDOMPATRIOT.NET or LIBERTYPUNDITS.ORG or some BS conservative news organization

Except

"Hillary Clinton Speeches is not affiliated with Hillary Clinton, her representatives, or Hillary for America."

Also if you click on the events you'll see they're all still listed on the OFFICIAL campaign website as individual events. Just like they always were.

This makes me so mad. It's such transparent, manufactured bullshit. Almost makes you understand why Trump is constantly accusing the media of being more interested in supporting a narrative than reporting the facts,
