I was actually thinking about how to do a wrestling game where the goal wasn't to win so much as to put on legitimately entertaining matches with a variety of moves and good in-ring storytelling. Putting guys over would be the core mechanic, so there's your Kane game.

Exactly what I thought when it was first mentioned that Take Two had got it. EA picking up the license was the only way we were ever going to get anything actually new out of it, not to mention the only chance we had of Aki/syn Sophia being brought in.
He was one of DDP's best friends. If I remember Kanyon's shoot interview correctly, the goal of it was to build into a feud once DDP returned but once it became obvious that DDP wasn't coming back, Kanyon dropped it. He didn't see the point of continuing it if there wasn't an actual feud, as he'd just be mimicking/mocking his friend for no reason. Of course, Russo wanted to keep going with it anyway because he's a fucking dick.
Kanyon was the best. Fuck Cena.
Basically. He SWERVED DDP by faking an injury from being thrown off a cage through the entrance ramp the month before only to turn on him and Diamond Cut DDP off the stage. DDP then went home and Kanyon decided he would be the real DDP from now on. He started calling himself Positively Kanyon, pasted his face on DDP's book, put a brick in it, taped his ribs constantly, refered to everyone as "bro", used DDP's music, and decided to Diamond Cut everyone because YOU NEVER SEE IT COMING. It was for sure the most entertaining thing WCW had going on for those two months.

They actually aired that match on an episode of Vintage Collection not too long ago. It was supposed to be a gimmick match special, but it was basically an excuse to shovel dirt on to WCW's grave then spit on it. They also showed the last couple minutes of the Jericho/Perry Saturn match that resulted in Saturn having to wear a dress.
Just saw it. Holy shit.
That was a surprisingly well-done disguise.

Also, if Judy Bagwell was on a forklift, does that really make it a pole match?
You can shovel dirt on WCW's grave without gimmick matches.
You can't really dangle a person from a pole. They send people to prison for that.

Man, WWE's pettiness towards WCW is so frustrating. They can't do ANYTHING WCW related without slipping in some shots at it. They won the war 12 years ago. Let it go. A. A TON of the biggest stars WWE ever had came from WCW. B. Most of the really crazy WCW shit came from Vince Russo, who was a WWF guy for years. C. WWF had some of the worst gimmicks of all time from 1993-1996ish. D. They still use the WCW name to sell shit all the time.
There was one article that mentioned Mike Awesome and how terribly WCW used him. The same Mike Awesome that, when he came to the WWF, was a C-show jobber after the first month of the Invasion and was released. Where do they get the right to shit on how WCW used him? Even with the stupid gimmicks, at least he was a featured performer regularly in main events in WCW. Not jobbing to Funaki on Jakked at 1 in the morning on Saturdays.

On the heels of Jake raising all of that money from fans, I'm a little suspicious of Scott Hall's true intentions. Like Dream used to say, these guys are broken down, drug addicted, conmen.
I dunno, Scott going to DDP's was arranged before all that money was raised I think.

Hall's agreement to work with DDP came way before Jake's surgery charity pledge.
It's still going. It ends on February 24. As of right now, they've raised $25,940. The original goal was $9,200. They have clarified that all the extra money will be going to dental work Jake has needed for years but hasn't been able to afford it.

I could see her resigning very quickly if things go well at her return. I'm hoping she wrestles Portia for her return match.
