This hit me way more than I expected. I was straight-up shedding tears by the time the tribute video started showing up. Daniel Bryan is my favorite wrestler ever, and that speech just killed me. I wish him all the best, and I hope he and Brie raise a happy family together.

The meta-story of WWE keeping Bryan on the sidelines with phony medical diagnoses to protect their handpicked stars is dead. If he weren't retired, there'd be glimmers of hope that he could rise up and defeat the heel authority and get back to active wrestling.

I remember reading all the time on the internet in the mid aughts about how ROH wrestlers were great but none of them could make it in the WWE. It's crazy how those two basically became the biggest stars in the company. And now Seth Rollins is doing it again.

Management and creative wants their guys.

They want their fake tough guys and they want to put over the bosses daughter.

There is no room for stars. Because stars would require paying money or having rights to their name.

Vince isn't about that today. Not after he killed WCW, the NWA and wrestling for his sports entertainment.

Vince wants to own a history, to own a language, and to falsify himself as a businessman instead of the ringleader taking his circus tent town to town.

Friend Beef, a lot of posters in here are already claiming they'll tune out, but my fear is that they'll just be back next week with their constant stream of negativity which will just bleed out into accusations against other members in the community, heck there are even people now actively trying to set the tone for the thread and future RAW's in a negative light.

Yup. So fucking sad how Punk and now Bryan had their careers cut short.

There's no one now. It's going to be a loooooooong time before someone like Owens or AJ reach Bryan's level, if ever. It will NOT happen with Reigns.

I also find myself extremely uninterested in wrestling at the moment. Punk and Rock brought be back in 2011, Bryan's run kept me interested, but now... I just don't fucking care. The most exciting thing right now is Nakamura's debut, but they're going to drop the ball on that after a few weeks, and then there's nothing again.

Honestly didn't expect that segment to have such a profound effect on me. That's definitely the best LIVE retirement I've seen in the WWE. In Wrestling, too often the good die young for their passion. So happy to see that Bryan Danielson is smart enough to take that ride off into the sunset early. He clearly has a lifestyle out of the industry he loves and a great family and wife. He'll go down as one of the all time greats and is a guaranteed future Hall of Famer.

Now go re-watch WrestleMania 30 right NOW, all of you!

Great speech. Happy as fuck no one else came down with their music. So fucking sad right. I can never be done with wrestling but this hurt so much. I hope he sticks around, dude would be an amazing trainer.

WM30 is still one of the GOAT. Gonna watch the shit out of it this weekend.

Flair is just a phony person all around to be honest.
Loved the Horsemen but in the decades since so many stories about Flair and Flair totally legit comes off as a slimy used car or insurance salesman who would take his own mother's last dollar in a ponzy scheme without a second thought.

So is Bryan going to stay with the WWE? Does the contract they have him locked in say he can't go anywhere else for non wrestling too? Like could he appear in ROH as a guest of honor or something? If he wants to become a WWE agent or something does he have to sign a new deal since his current one is for wrestling?
