FF7R Intergrade PS5 vs Switch 2 comparison video

DLSS magic?

Looks higher res on Switch for the character models. Look at his coat zipper, the necklace, his chest "straps", etc. Whole character looks higher quality assets like what transformer model would do.

Off topic tangent:

Yeah ps5 still doesn't have the updated lighting in rebirth. and I don't know why not? Is it to give the ps5 pro more of a value? Idk

This guys videos are shit. There's lots of macroblocking and colour banding on the PS5 version, did he steal it from a YouTube video or has a dog shit capture card?

Looks like fine details are better resolved in the Switch 2, but due to the lower input resolution lead to create some noise in the hair, still looks amazing overall and pretty comparable results.

He is taking the Switch 2 footage from a Youtube video too… So, is a fair comparison.

That suffers from the same issues, but less so. But I knew he downloaded that from somewhere anyway, because he doesn't have a Switch 2.
If you have a better capture card, feel free to record an video and make a comparison, it's going to be a great contribution for the thread.

PS5 version ran at like 1512p at fixed 60fps or 2160p at 30fps, whilst I think Switch 2 is 1080p at 30fps?

Asset and lighting wise it seems close or practically the same though.

The real test for Switch 2 will be Rebirth as that had massive environments with more geometery and the character models got a hefty polgygon increase. As well as having the entire party on the field at once.

Also the final entry may be on UE5 vs the heavily customized UE4 Remake and Rebirth are running on.

That would mean I have to play the game :messenger_weary: Does it support multiple saves? If not, I ain't redoing what I have already played.
But now it's getting real close to PS5 with Switch 2.

(I recorded footage using OBS and then took a screenshot using VLC, so this is a screenshot from a video and not a direct capture).

Here's both of them spliced together. As I said before, this dude makes shit videos.

Real time cutscenes and gameplay images are not the same quality. I have the game i know it. Comparing just cutscenes is useless as its a controled enviroment without alot of the gamelogic running.

This is… wow. I'm quite blown away here. Would've replayed it if I hadn't already finished it half a year ago.

It's a serious bummer that there is so many late ports going on right now. Goes for Xbox games on PS5, PS5 games on PC and now AAA games on Switch 2. I rarely replay games. Nintendo need to make sure they aren't getting left out on day 1 releases going forward. If the hardware is capable enough to run new games then there needs to be a Switch 2 version for all multiplats. And save syncing, can I have that please? Like, always? I would go PC+Switch 2 on a ton of games if I knew I could go back and forth between the platforms on the same playthrough.

True, but there's gameplay footage too, and also looks amazing.

Is it digital only, cant seem to find a link to it (in the UK)

It's not even easily found on Nintendo's website, and it has a release date of TBD.

As to the answer to your question, almost has to be. Remake's PS5 version size is ~85 GB. Assuming it's $60 it does feel a little cheesy given that the Twin Pack on both PS5 and Steam was $70 at one point.

How did Nintendo manage to get Ff7 but not MS?

By being the number 1 video game platform. All these games would have been on the switch day one if it were possible.
So instead of all that switch money square had to subsidize by making a deal with Sony. MS probably could have bought a port day one but they are too stupid to spend money wisely. 😂

Part of it is DLSS4 magic. No doubt.
But part of it is also UE4's very early TAA. I think this game uses UE4.09 which really old.
At this time there wasn't even TAAU. Neither TAA Gen5.
So this TAA is rather blurry and prone to ghosting artifacts.

One positive thing about this Switch port is that Square now has implemented a temporal upscaler into this engine, so hopefully they could implement DLSS4, FSR4 and XeSS2, into the PC version.
