Seriously, don't expect much. I'm a tad excited too, but I've come to learn that the more you expect from self-hyping an "announcement" the most disappointing it'll end up being. There might not even be most news, or it might be an announcement of a further delay...

Seeing how this is a "scoop" by Famitsu, a Japanese weekly magazine. I don't think that last part is going to happen. I'm all for character customization system news though.

My complaint was that it was pathetically tedious and boring. You had to spend hours drawing to get a complete set of 100 to make it an ideal spell to junction, then you had to play around with every different spell to see which ones junctioned to which abilities best.

Worst of all, if you actually knew what you were doing you broke the game completely and stomped every enemy you came across.

Also, creatures that you could draw Aura from where far too frequent and too easy, so you could at your whim cast Aura in any hard fight and overdrive your enemies into oblivion.

It took three times longer to level up materia/get abilities from weapons than it did to either draw some spells or play cards for modding materials. Plus FFVII and IX were just as broken (having a character that could counter attack 16 times and absorb HP every time they did it in VII is one extreme example)

That's what made it so much fun :lol. Counter attacking every enemy before anybody else in your party plays

We're glad that even with no information for 9 months everyone is still so excited about FFXII. It's been a bitch designing this game from scratch to fit a more mainstream and accepted form of FF after Matsuno was throw out of Square Enix along with Quest but as long as the profits keep coming in we'll live! Please look forward to a cast filled with bishounen, a FMV-laden epic plot and turn based Active Time Battle fun!

so they're going to get people up to date in the summer, which means the game won't come out until at least fall or possibly later and that's only in japan. US will probably get in summer 2006. how annoying and I doubt it's going to be any better than X(not saying it's a bad game but it wasn't too great either).

No... the weather will start to get warm in March. In summer it is blazing hot. I expect information next month and no later. The game is still scheduled for Spring, by the way, but I expect a release in July.

Final Fantasy and square, ever since X released, has been just a mess. XI was just one hell of a project effort and left this gap for anyone not into what they were doing. Not to mention that was delayed to all hell l just like this. So to me, FF's just been nonexistent since the beginning of this generation, along with Rare who seemed to have decided to skip it.
