FIFA 09 (360) MLS League Thread.

For the sake of amusement, one of the MLS bloggers put up a list of projected starting lineups for the teams this year. Just curious if anyone is using the same one that actually might play this year. I have a few changes in mine because Convey isn't on the roster. I think I'm using 9 out of those 11 players right now.

i'd be up for any of that. we could also do 3v3 4v4 etc. be a pro east vs. west provided we could get enough together

so i was exploring menus last night trying to figure out what the best way to get an online co-op game going with a friend who just bought Fifa09.

and i found myself in some lobby setup i have never before seen. i dont even remeber where it was off hand. but apparently there are actual lobbies in this game where you can try to find matches? lol wtf. ill have to explore further!

there are still so many menus that i havent figure out a purpose for yet.

so whats the best way to get a 2v2 going? there is no 2 v CPU online right?

these menus are a complete nightmare.

his projected NE lineup looks pretty flawed. doubt we'll be changing from the 3-5-2, and having Teirney in the starting lineup probably wont happen, unless neccesary.

yeah, Badilla would be his replacement.

but good call though. and this year is going to be such a transition year, that the 4-4-2 could be a real possibility. we did experiement with it a few times last year. its just been 3-5-2 forever now... maybe due for a change.

seriously doubt we'll see Teriney in the starting lineup though, unless he really steps up the the plate. he hasnt shown much at all.

and now we have Vidiera to think about fitting into the line up.

its going to be an interesting year for us...

Seriously. Having been in leagues for years I've been asking for this in sports games for a long time now. The ideal game (that will never happen) would have great in-game leagues with tons of stats (including assists, ffs), that could be viewed and edited on the web and all games could be viewable.

Of course, for now we are stuck with an online interface so shitty we would rather run it through a post on GAF, so yeah, maybe our grandkids will get to enjoy the above.

nba 2k already includes most of that, and I believe NCAA football has an amazing online dynasty mode. of course, it seems the different EA studios never share stuff with each other except for the atrocious menu design
 
it really depends on how bad the spectators would affect the lag, although I guess it should not be that bad, PGR4 had that feature and I didn't hear too many bad things

You could always prioritize the people playing. That way any lag would affect the viewers first.
 
You could also put the viewers on a different "channel" both voice and data, so that they may be delayed but they'd get a good feed, not interrupt the game, and be able to chat. PC games, and a few console titles, have been doing this since forever. You could even spice things up EA-style by throwing in shit like betting on who will win, who will score the next goal, etc.

Yes I know this is total fantasyland stuff.

I have the same router settings that I've always used to play EA games fine, but it won't let me on. My router is pretty basic..I'm not sure how to check the port settings. Anyway, I don't have the patience for this shit. If anyone is on a waiting list..let them have the Chicago Fire. I'm fed up with this crap.
 
shit Chris, im feeling really tired here at work. i might just hit the sack when i get home tonight. late night/long day today.

if i have any energy ill log on at the usuall time. otherwise ill be around tomorrow and the rest of the week.

EA put a hit on me. It's so ridiculous, and I'm so tired of this shit that I'm not going to bother spending the hours of time it might take to fix it. I'd be angry..but it's so bizarre that I'm basically just laughing at the situation. Good luck to the new Chicago owner. God wants me to play absolutely zero video games. He is getting His way.

I had the same issues last yr around november-december, but now I don't have any problems. So I am not sure what causes it, cause I had to delete my profile a few times

Cool. QVT says he might be able to make it. Let's see if we can get at least 4 tonight, otherwise we can just play some MLS scrimmages or whatever.
