It's an improvement, I was using the same tactics for milan and they didnt help for any other team.
I still suck at shooting though, I think I did better on semi as opposed to auto
My thru balls are on manual which sucks because to get a good pass off you have to hold down the button longer, so if there's pressure on you you will do a weak ass pass
I just hate 09 sometimes, I'm hoping there's a uefa version in a couple of months like every year...or some other version
It's funny because they said they were iterating on UEFA but there's absolutely no evidence of that. Still love 09 though, probably my only overarching issue is that the pitch feels quite small and as a result of that in part it takes like two seconds to get up and down the entire thing. Feels like indoor soccer at times. But I could play the game forever.

I wonder what they'll do since 09 has been selling so well and konami got the champions league license for pes 2009

they could also give us more online options (weather, OT, PKs ZOMG) and at least a passable league system that doesn't force us to just do the damn thing ourselves.

The advertising in nba live 09 is pretty outrageous, I love commercials so I dont mind that much but it's whored out
The problem with the horrible menu system in fifa is that they use the same shit for EVERY ea sports game.
I mean it's the same in madden, nba, fifa, and I'm guessing it's the same in nhl too

i am actually looking forward to the stupid new card-collecting mode just to see what it's all about. i will likely burn the 400 points or whatever to play it. funny that they announced it but it's not out for like a month--does it really need that much lead-time for hype?

PES had the best training modes. Real free kick practice where you could adjust the number of guys in the wall, the dribbling cones, the long-pass target practice, etc. and of course all the medals to go along with those. Why EA didn't just rip this off like they ripped off the rest of PES I still don't understand.

Exactly. All of that stuff was fantastic, and it's just what I want. Really doesn't seem like it'd be that difficult to program, but perhaps they're spending all of their time on horrifically complicated menus these days.

I swear something was wrong with my team/game. I can't describe it but sometimes when I play FIFA the game will act all "wonky" for no particular reason. My player would stop running all of a sudden, they wouldn't head the ball where I aimed. Now I can't even connect to a ranked game.

won 2 tied 1 i believe. good times. for whatever reason feels better than when we played it at first. and it certainly can't be said that most of these teams got super-good in the months we didn't play clan mode at all.
then my mic crapped out and we did a 2v2 and i mistakenly picked any which i HATE but it was pretty fun.

Be a pro mode is fun, can take more concentration than playing normal I guess.

The only time I have trouble is when I am the one Any and then the other player is fixed, just because by my nature I am a distributor in co-op matches and I'm just not accustomed to being Any at all. I am glad we have specialists like Cornballer for this sort of thing.

Good games of FIFA Clubs last night, everyone. We started to get our mojo going towards the end of the evening. Too bad that one team gave us the forfeit because I got the feeling we were going to score a lot on them. 
We'll get to .500 sooner or later!

Yea, that was definitely a lot of fun last night. That one goal (scored by QVT?) that took the deflection was awesome! There were also some others that would have been amazing goals had they not hit the crossbar.
I do think we do need to work on our passing a bit more though. Especially when we're playing teams that have a lot of taller guys against us. Long balls can work sometimes, but we usually just end up giving it away when there were better passing options around.
Good times though. Hopefully I'll be around if we play again this weekend.

Yeah, we need to get better at adjusting the tactics on the fly when necessary. I was hoofing too many long balls out of the back last night where we would've been better off just moving the ball quickly. With all of the players equalized, it ends up being a measure of teamwork and passing ability as a group.
I'm terrible at Be a Pro mode (controlling a single player), so this works out for everyone.AstroLad said:

I'm glad we finally confirmed that. Makes sense that people want to use France because Henry and Benzema are both big and fast, even with the stat scaling. Same thing with Ronaldo and Berbatov. For some reason Barca give us fewer problems than ManU and France.

Man U makes me sick in this game, berbatov is as good as ronaldo...plus they got rooney, that's like one of the super teams they used to have in the old fifas

We should find an MLS team to play with or go with the US for FIFA Clubs. It'd be pretty funny to roll someone with one of those teams. :lol

Whew! Well I'm back in this season.
I wish we were keeping stats for red/yellow cards..because I'd easily be #1 in them! :lol
Another yellow and red for the boys in red. I'm not sure how McBride got his yellow. I was tackled just outside the box..maybe he dove too much, or theoretically protested it not being a PK. Either way, it was weird.
But all was OK, as the boys played with the passion and fury only a team sponsored by Best Buy could achieve.
That game was incredible, from my perspective. Giving up a red card mere inches outside the box, avoiding a PK, and then going on to win the game a man down with a 120th minute goal makes that easily the highlight of my season. I probably won't ever come close.
Mcbride had been a non-factor all season long..but coming up with that goal redeems him in my mind. I wish we could save online replays, because the goal was actually a rebound..from him (in true FIFA fashion) hitting the post!
