Slayer of Combofiends
And not gems?

On-disc DLC is what ultimately did the strongest blow to SFxT and Capcom's image. People are still wary of it till this day. The characters were finished, they were just saving them to charge extra, which is a shady practice but at least hide the fact that you are doing that lol

Theres a show on tokyo tv right now were they go to people's houses and play rock, paper, scissors over the air. Or something. They are doing it outside too.

I think SF4 heads + gems + them overloading on things killed sfxt as well as the other projects they had. Really if they have a come to Jesus moment like Square had we are in for good days. It seems like it's kind of like that but we'll have to wait till the next few conventions to really see what is being cooked up.

Gief + Auto block gems + neon colours out the ass = I'm out

nigga was just walking towards me and blocking shit anyway

who gave this shit the thumbs up

Not familiar with SG. I might need to play this game.
You should, but it'd be a good idea to make connections with strong players to teach you the ropes. Without that you'll juget get steamrolled until you quit.
Tbh I kinda think the skullgirls characters are way more interesting on paper than in actual gameplay. They have a ton of specific mechanics in an arcsys kind of way tho...just don't think it often leads to interesting stuff.

Sorry solarpowered. You can tell me why I'm wrong tho.
Yeah, these things could be said about a lot of games. Gonna need more detail.
i have more fun watching the movements of the characters than the actual gameplay. there' might be something wrong with me.

the animation in the game is jaw-dropping.

squiggly in general is a marvel to watch and fun to see all the little details in her animations.

there might be something wrong with me.
There is nothing wrong with you. This sort of interest probably describes 90% of the 3S fanbase lol.
Every character can potentially win solo in Skullgirls, but it's pretty hard against some teams.
Parasoul used to be in a unique class of solo shittiness, but others have joined her in having a hard time alone. Squigly, Big Band and Robo Fortune would have a hard time of it. BB has ball breaking damage in his corner, though.
Solo Painwheel is hell.
At least she has armor. Try being Parasoul up against Peacock or Robo Fortune backed by assists. Having no airdash, no fly and no double jump is hard mode.
ok i'll try but i havent played skullgirls in a long time so solar pls correct me when i get things wrong. Big Band has a parry which on paper is an option with incredible versatility. how does this effect big bands moment to moment gameplay? i dont think it does, really. it can be useful in very specific situations but the games system doesnt really call for it and therefore its a little unique mechanic that just ticks a box. squigly can shorten the screen, which would be amazing if spacing and screen position mattered more in sg and squigly had some nasty corner setups or something. its a mechanic that is interesting sounding but in application its pretty boring. eliza has a whole seperate mode with the skeleton out which sounds amazing and while really useful in practice its just used for seconds at a time as a way to get in and do a quick mixup.

these little features dont drastically change the way people play...they have less effect than something seemingly boring like makotos command grab or akumas air fireball or venoms formations. mike z's designs are so creative but they dont really inspire creative gameplay imo.
BB's parries have their usefulness up close and from far away (I believe they nullify chip damage which is extremely important for BB in a game full of projectile users), but they're really more of a complementary tool considering A train, L brass knuckles (safe on block) and beat extend are so amazing. As for Squigly, she has a shitton of nasty resets on all parts of the screen. Just a few minutes ago I literally got reset to death without a single touch by a Squigly. BB's uniqueness probably lies in the mix of long range hit confirms off giant step (Pot quake or VSav Hsien-Ko's TRH quake), close up overhead shenanigans with L giant step and brass knuckle hit confirms into his level 1 juggernaut super (then the taunt for extra large damage at no extra meter cost). I think it's pretty neat that he has this whole mix of Guilty Gear and Third Strike to him. It's like someone decided it'd be a good idea to mix Makoto with Potemkin, but they decided to go the distance and give him a hardboiled detective story straight out of a broadway show interpretation of sim city. Squigly is one of my favorite characters, but I have a harder time with her. Despite having no long range game she has an amazing mid range game to make up for it. Charged center stage into SBO super (which has three different versions for combos, AAs and stopping overhead left-right mixups) is crazy good at catching someone in the middle of a button press. Her special game is pretty novel thanks to silver chord keeping assist callers honest even from far away, her charged DP is invulnerable in case you've got airdash nonsense coming at you and moves like Arpeggio are great at stopping assists or armored moves in their tracks thanks to it's multihit property. SG characters have a lot of micro stuff going on, but sometimes those small things make a world of difference in the right matchup. Against Filia BB's parries might not be as big a deal, but against an imminent chip death from Peacock it could change the tides. The same could be said for Squigly on point. You think Center Stage isn't that big a deal, but when you're fighting a keepaway team or a midrange dominance team like Double backed by Fukua projectile assist and Fortune DP assist it means the world to have Squigly's screen moving functionality. I'm currently experimenting with her on a new three man team since one of the SG OG's has wrecked me over thirty times since yesterday with that exact midrange dominance team. It's all in the details.

Easily
You say this a lot, what's your source? No inferring, no assumptions. Just facts proving that the existence of sfxt is the sole reason other projects died please
SFxT selling less than half of what MvC3 did in it's first month certainly couldn't help unannounced fighting game projects.
RIP Darkstalkers. I have to play KI with its shitty combo breaker system just to get my fix :(
You can get your fix by fighting Eliza players, but then you'd have to fight Eliza. After that you realize Jedah isn't so scary after all.

Slayer of Combofiends

I remember the day reading this and it sounds to be the case. Capcom has not released another fighting game within the past 4 years. That's a little ridiculous if you ask me and with reason as seen in the post linked above, makes a lot of sense. Capcom executives can eat shit out of their own asses for all I care. Bet you that mobile division they invested so much money in is making its returns in bankruptcy and failure.

RIP Darkstalkers. I have to play KI with its shitty combo breaker system just to get my fix :(

The combo breaker system doesn't feel as hype as it was intended to be. Guess it comes from folks with inexperience in building a fighting game from scratch.

Capcom's execs during the sfxt era were a special sort of dumb ass. I mean atleast Wada did some stuff ,but these guys totally misread the market and are paying for it.

I wouldn't take Alberto's word on this. He's one of those gaf "insiders."
Two reasons why I don't believe it:

1) A non-descriptive "leaker" on GAF with no real concrete information. As always... a leaker is bull shit unless proven otherwise.

2) If true.. the reality of it is far too depressing that unless it's spoken directly from someone at Capcom... I pretty much refuse to believe it.

If someone held up a gun to my head and asked me what really happened... then I would probably side with Alberto on it based on gut feeling.

I don't know any porn stars. All I ever do when I search for porn is "big dick compilation" or "hot black guys compilation" or look at pics at hot guys.

oh

I wanna destroy Bobby so hard lol, he's the type of player I am who just voices everything as he plays and when they lose... Oh man, the salt is delicious

I didn't know this. Now I want to play you in person even more to see your reactions to the shit I pull

The suits in charge of SFxT, I still can't believe some of the decisions they made. They're the only thing to blame for how that game did and how it essentially poisoned the well. Plenty of fighters have done customization well, but it's like they purposely went in the other direction hoping people would follow on good faith.
I still love Capcom for Ducktales Remastered and for generally trolling the fuck out of Mega Man fans since they deserve it

Also, there's no reason to doubt Shocking Alberto unless

1) you don't know who he is
2) you don't believe anything that isn't related to DMC and/or Marvel

I was confirming stuff about Twilight Princess HD in two threads and haven't been banned, so I guess I'm a GAF insider? lol

Real talk, we gotta have one last PC USF4 tournament to see who are the top 5 players here on this thread.

Still my favorite EA guest.
