dat guy what said a thing he shouldn't said:I didn't explain my original comment enough. Let me do that now. In a competition with expert players, he probably isn't OP. But look at all of the people that aren't experts and that play online. Do you really believe that the average player will know whats plus on block or what's punishable and what isn't?

I'm always amused by new game salt. My favorite is when an anime game comes out in Japan, and people go "oh that's the most busted thing ever", then by the time is out it's developed to the point it's not even considered useful or strong anymore.
NRS patches were whack for MK9. The older players at the arcade keep saying "We'll play MKX for 2-3 months, at that point they'll start patching and we'll just not bother keeping up and quit." I'm reaaaallllllyy hoping they cut back on them. I'm all down for patches once things get to a decent point in development, but that's over several months or even a years.

'bout sums up my evening. :]

The patching in Injustice made the game significantly better. Compare tournament results and the character variety before and after. I'm not sorry that patches that helped my hard work with Catwoman pay off turned off multigame casual players who wanted to abuse meta 1 Superman or Black Adam and then quit when they fell behind.
Praying beyond prayers there's another patch when the game is out. The netcode is disparity beyond belief. 3 or 35 matches had a decent connection. Those 3 good ones equal to something close in SF4.
Otherwise, MKX is beautiful and playing amazing offline.
Here we go again.Saw this on my twitter feed
hold up block is still on a button?
Lol yeah but then that's a side effect of the game taking too long to release. Personally I'd take having to deal with the early cheap shit than that.
It's mortal kombat

Please don't let Erron Black get Kano-ed. His slide is mad unsafe and his 50/50 success is largely because its Sonic freaking Fox out there. Folks block and eat the armored grab because he pressures so hard towards the corner he TRAINS THEM to block and eat it.
Its not the character its the player...dont' Kano Erron Black. MK9 had knee jerk nerf yells from folks prelaunch and he was nerfed under the tier list so hard he had his own tier well beneath anyone else. Even Baraka looked at Kano with pity.
I would seriously pay $50 DLC for SF4 netcode quality for MKX.
The FGC is really scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to netcode if statements like these are being made.I would seriously pay $50 DLC for SF4 netcode quality for MKX.
Oh def, for sure. Just saying that it happens over the course of several months and it's hilarious to observe. Then when an actual problem happens like Kokonoe we freak out and can't get anything accomplished. I believe that left alone that character would've eventually be banned, but people were so dumb about it. All we had to was observe her for a bit and see what happened. Meanwhile Injustice was dealing with teleporting ninjas that didn't last long enough to even be observed, for better or worse.
Kano ended up better after the patches than the start of the game. He was actually buffed overall.

CRAZY CONSPIRACY THEORY

I prefer the other crazy conspiracy theory.
They know 99.9% of their buyers will play it, see each fatality once and never touch it again, let alone ever want to play it online.
So they don't bother.

Damn
Yup. Shit is garbage. The FGC is really scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to netcode if statements like these are being made.

The approach NRS does is how most other genres do it. Fighting games to me aren't some magical unicorn that needs to be different.
As for the netcode, what the FGC want for MK doesn't matter- simply put, the game sells too well among casuals, so they'll always focus on the casual stuff. Only smaller games and Tekken care about netcode- and Tekken is probably due to Harada. I'll probably play through story mode a bit, spam online with local friends, never enter a tourney for this, and just go back to KOF and SF.
My gut says SFV will care, because they're going to want to do to do online esports, and that requires solid netcode.
I am just saying that SF4's netcode shouldn't be held as some type of standard for netcode in FGs.
The PC version in particular needs to be berated on daily in this thread just to get across how awful it is.

You're absolutely right. Wishing for SF4-quality netcode is... a statement, but it's a really, really sad one.
