Fighting Games Weekly | April 14-20 | Some Permutation of "Daigo is Da Bess"

No surprise there - I mentioned it a good while back, but on paper nothing really changed with Dee Jay, and anyone who already played with him won't change their playstyle with him.

He'll still be one of my go-to characters, but I see myself putting way more time into Hugo, Makoto and Decapre because I feel that I know all there is to learn about Dee Jay. I can just play him whenever because I won't need to change anything.

Which character did you ask him about? I can help you out there if you tell me.

After talking to him a little more, I understood that he HAD found Hugo's personal action lsited in the move list, but there wasn't anything different about Hugo's personal action from the personal actions listed for any other character. He just thought that maybe it would have properties like in 3S, but it was just a thought.

If they're going to nerf/buff more for a console version in 2 months time they might as well make it an MMO with monthly changes lol.... I honestly doubt shit will get changed, DeCapre's probably finished just like Evil Ryu and Oni where for AE....

But that is what I am trying to say: The "Technical" doesn't appear when a character hits the ground, it appears as they are getting up. Thus there is no way to react to the technical with a secondary set up (at least not jump in)

Pause it @ 1:44, it appears while Cammy is whiffing c.mk for timing. That's quick enough to change your Cammy setup on the fly.

I am not sure about this, since I don't play Cammy, but at the point where he presses c.mk I think he has already commited to a "delayed wake up". If he wanted to do the set up for normal hard knowck down, I think he has to take a small step, jab, then jump.

At the point he jumps in to the air he can see the technical, but there is no way to change his set up according to a non-delayed wake up at that point I think. Sure he could react and og for a grab in stead, but the whole ambiguous jump thing would be gone.

Ah, Hugo.

Okay, so there's nothing added to his taunt like 3S then. Which reminds me that I didn't check to see if Hugo's & Decapre's movelists finally went up online. Flipping through SRK pages and I haven't seen anything yet on that still.

The Socal vs Norcal runback in UMVC3. Hopefully Socal does better this time.

Elena's beats in my head remix is already the best song in SF4 and it's not even as good as the original.

Also ex patriot circle got beat out by cr.lk HAHAHAAAAAA

Reading gamerbee's twitter makes me sad. They knew delay wake up is going to gimp Ibuki so they buffed her instead of nerfing her, they should have done the same for Adon. Adon can barely compete with the top tier in AE2012, he's going to struggle even harder now.

Cammy has a heap of setups after hard knockdown, c.lk whiff, c.mp whiff, step whiff jab, double whiff jab. heck I've even seen sweep used for some... character specific for sure but the point is setups will be found and DWU being used or not is known by the time Cammy goes to air. people will find shit and she's still a strong enough character not to be ignored.

Like I've never bothered to learn most setups for Cammy but I'm pretty sure I can c.lk after a backthrow and react to DWU. No technical just proceed as normal, divekick, safejump, crossup lk, empty jump etc. DWU used... go for meaty? jump back over and instant ex divekick? do a higher than normal divekick, i dunno, that's what training mode is for, point is you can react and the top players will.

It's nothing compared to the 3S version... but damn it's growing on me... so fucking chill.

First putting sfxt characters, then its stages, alternate costumes, and making the oki game weaker.

The game is slowly becoming SfxT. You will all be playing it and enjoying it! TAKE THAT SOCIETY

Actually, I'd be happy with this. As much as I enjoy SFxT and it's focus on footsies, I think that the combo system and the ABC chains really screw with the pace of the game. Converting an lk into 30-40% of your life on counterpoke at long range is gross and is the reason why folks like Chun-li are so frustrating, she can zone you out and still get massive damage easily. I've put more time into AE in recent months, and I've found footsies so satisfying in the game because the reward balance is so much more satisfying.

Yeah SFIV actually has pokes that are hard to confirm from which I like. In SFxT you can poke then just go into an ABC chain, it's silly.

If you guys see ANY Deejay footage in these YouTube videos could you send me a link with a time stamp? If possible, link to Deejay winning?
LMAO ILL BE WAITING UNTIL JUNE

It's funny that the SFxT design flaws/things to learn from topic keeps coming up in the past few weeks. It may be one of the best learning experiences the genre will ever get.

SfxT is such a great game but has some really silly mistakes, but well, now Ultra x Tekken will fix those problems

Juso now ending some long combo strings with a standing jab in the air (a la Makoto) to avoid DWU. Neat.

I figured a lot of Sakura players would default to air tech resets over otoshi until they figure out DWU set ups. Some of her air tech rests in the corner aren't bad. She got changed so little that she's still going to be played the same minus unblock and 50/50 stuff, so you'll probably just see more resets. I had a pretty tight DWU fireball set up at the loketest in NEC, but a lot of kinks need to be ironed out.

But Japanese tweets told me he was going to be fine.

Who to belieeeeve? (Probably gamerbee)

I hope he switches to elena.

Sounds like Gamerbee is saying he's mid to high-mid now- that's good enough to win with if balance is like AE.
He's been nerfed though.

As a Dhalsim player I some times land a focus crumple-> backdash too far away to do anything but a Fierce punch when I recover from the backdash. In those situations I some times let the opponent crumple to the ground and go for a Fireball -> Instant air teleport mix up instead.

Do you think a focus crumple is techable? It basically is a hard knock down, but I can't imagine how you could tech that "knockdown".

Really? Adon is definitely in the top 5. He really has no bad matchups.

Adon have plenty of bad BAD match ups. If Adon is top 5 then 3 out of those 5 characters flat out beats Adon: Fei Long, Akuma, Cammy. And we haven't even gotten to the grapplers yet.

I haven't seen a lot of footage of Adon vs grapplers but from what I do remember, it seems pretty even. Standing roundhouse can really zone grapplers.

Whiffed st.hk gets punished by t.hawk with st.hp though, lol.

T.hawk can hang in footsies with Adon well but has problems with air nonsense if you aren't careful. Gief is the opposite, imo. st.hk gives him ridiculous problems but Lariat helps with anti-airing stuff, at least to my knowledge.

I read this thread while I am waiting for my work stuff to build but when I get home, I have no desire to play fighters. Last thing I want to do is computer/game stuff. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I'll hang around, but I don't play much for a number of other reasons. My motivation is zapped by the community, I'm guessing you're just tired?
