Fighting Games Weekly | Aug 18-24 | Fall back, u nerd

Oh wow. After seeing the above posts in this thread, you're a terrible person. You're already hurting trans people by telling them what they are and aren't. You're past "threatening" people.

Yeah. That's a fucking shit comment.

Man, can we have a major or something, I think FGW needs it

lol Anime California initially banned chris g, floe and jwong from entering the fg tournaments.

Then they changed that where they can only win 3rd place prize LOL.

From the stream it looked like none of the LoL players knew how to block a cross up and just mash assist.
That sounds like anime communities alright.

i don't recall any of this ever happening.

all according to Chris G and Floe's twitter. I also think its on jwong's twitter as well. I mean, they could be lying, but considering that Chris G was the commentator for LoF and floe being upset about the whole thing, I see no reason why they would just randomly lie about it.

Eh not true of the bigger ones.

AX had fanatiq, knives, airtola, royal flush, llnd and etc. no issues. Also they had a ton of anime FGC players playing BB, P4A and stuff. No issues

Same goes for that midwest one where CORN attends.

oh misunderstanding on my part. i thought you mean Anime FG Scene in California, not an anime convention called Anime California.

i don't know anything about what happened at Anime California

I just beat DSP online while my nephew was annoying me, i'm officially better than Mike Watson.

:( sad times, but might be true

im not defending watts but man it seems like you only show up in this thread to comment on drama. every post i've read of yours has nothing to do with fighting games themselves but rather the people that play them and thats not the kinda thread i personally want this to be. why do that shit here? r/kappa is devoted to that.

i actually never post here, but when people mention my name i feel its only fair to come and defend myself. didnt know i was supposed to only come here to post theory fighter or talk about my love for super mario bros.....

i simply answered a few questions people asked and will continue to do so.

I think M2K was banned from Smash tourneys at AX a couple of years back too.

I don't think he's talking about you. he's talking about singaporn/guardcrushspecial

I was "almost" banned at some giveaway contest because I knew how to play mvc3 week one better than anybody there. I abused the shit out of gold hsienko and sentinel.

I think I ran x-23, sentinel, hsienko lol.

lol My very first MvC3 team was Zero/Hsien-Ko/Sentinel. Had a lot of fun when people were still learning the game.

Only people from the airdash community is safe, because we're part of the same crowd. lol
It's weird how the different communities actually try to isolate themselves from each other sometimes. Like, I will talk shit about Tekken, but I sat down and played T6 for 3 days because it was available, and I had a good time. If a Tekken player wanted to play Marvel or Skullgirls, I wouldn't fault them for it or try to judge whether they "belong" to that game's community. It's just a mindset I don't understand. How I feel about a game has nothing to do with how I feel about the people who play that game.

That first week before people knew about Gustaff Fire and Wolverine...

the sad thing was that I remember people bitching about sentinel and quoting jwong.

I was like "Nawwww sentinel is so easy to beat (when he doesn't have XF)". It wasn't that bad tho with gold hsienko since she beat cr. M and S spam.

I think another big thing is people get screamed at for having opinions or being critical at times because others have difficulty viewing them as having complex, nuanced opinions so they just label them as having bias towards x publisher/game franchise. I enjoy SFxTK/Injustice casually (and almost any fighting game casually) but competitively they are booty and because I express that in discussions that are primarily arguing competitive viability or what have you people think you are biased the other way or maybe you're only saying you like it casually to make headway in your argument.

It feels like the more and more recently I recognize people are dying to call out someone else for being a fanboy so they don't have to bother with arguing points directly. Happened in the last few big arguments I've had in FGW, and elsewhere as well. In this thread I get called out for being a massive Xbot and in the same day people are calling me a Sony fanboy in Gaming. It's annoying and even a bit numbing, but I guess categorizing people just makes creating narratives easier for some, and furthers those divides between communities.

It's always fun to see what people considered strong tactics back in the day.

Seeing how Marvel 2 and 3 changed is pretty amusing.

Sort of reminds me of arguments that are made "strong" by saying things with lots of profanity or saying "you're blind to nostalgia".

You're giving your hand waves way too much credit. A large portion of this thread called your's, kirblar and karst's posts earlier in this week rightfully as ignorant.

That's insane. How did someone not recognize you for an Xbot? ;-)

Yeah, I try to waste less time arguing these days. Sometimes I get dragged in, but it seems as though folks are generally more interested in protecting their own perspective than having a discussion. I will still drop in threads asking for advice to give my two cents, though.

You know what would be interesting? A fighting game release schedule in the OP. I constantly forget when everything is coming out. -_- I'm trying to get all of my work prep done for the semester so I can just enjoy gaming.

No doubt, you did post a lot.

Serious question: did you choose your username because you know you spend so much time crying in threads?

lol Purposefully being derisive after talking about wanting to avoid argument.

Serious answer: I'm too busy masturbating or whatever the fuck you said after you got tired of getting ridiculed for making dumb posts.

I think it's pretty cool, I just think it's dumb when people herald it as the greatest shit ever based off of EVO finals from 2 years ago.

Good thing KOF isn't as popular as Marvel then.

You and your snarky comments...He's not even talking about you. I know you don't care but I just have to say that I don't really like the way you're retaliating. I understand that you may be a bit frustrated but c'mon man

How do you feel about fighting games?

The evo finals were all about hellpockets commentary, he didn't do it this year and of course it was a damn snore fest.
