Fighting Games Weekly | July 22-28 | Life's A Beech

So seeing as I just bought SSF4:AE on steam, and got back into fighting games about a week ago, after having not played any since doa4 and tekken 4. What would be another 1-2 good fighting games to get? Just to have some variation in what I can spend my time on.

Edit - Please only suggest games available on PC and PS3, thanks :)

For PC? Sfxt is well worth getting on sale as it is still fun to play and different enough to SF4.

Other than that, you could wait for skullgirls and KOF or grab guilty gear off Good old games.

King of Fighters XIII and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown.

If you have PS3/360/Wii U, then Tekken Tag 2 just got a price drop to $19.99 on all platforms. No PC, though. :/

Fighters on PS3 is fine as well. Got my ps3 compatible fightstick coming in a few days :D

Well, I don't know if my avatar is good enough for da Beech, but if any kind soul could do it...

If you are starting out, P4A, TT2 and Injustice would also be good pickups. You can also try the F2P version of Tekken to get you into it.

Skullgirls is pretty great and only $15. It's much faster paced than SF4, and has a bunch of (free) DLC coming over the next couple years.

Persona 4 Arena is lots of fun, and if you are a Persona fan has a god single player mode.

Mortal Kombat Komplete edition is pretty good, I don't really take it seriously but its a fun game!

All I know is that sandbags are not very fun to watch.

Speaking of sandbags, is Champ actually going to be there or has he not raised enough money yet?

But are sandbags great to hold...

It's the question anybody gay wants to know.

How can Rolando say GAF is hating on VXG when people are making all these avatars?

1. memes are catchy, da beech is one.

2. feel da riddim.. it's meme time. COOL RUNNINGS

Injustice is really fun and pretty easy to pick up.

Is PC availability a requirement?

MLG doing fighting games, specifically Capcom games, is one of the best things that could happen. The FGC needs to support it.

Not if they keep doing them the way they have in the past. I prefer something more in the lines of what IPL wanted to do, or just where Capcom is continuing with the World Cyber Games.

PC or PS3 :)
I think a good variety to complement AE would really be any other two fighting games. Every type of game has it's own niche.

Marvel - Sandbox/synergistic/knowledge-based gameplay
KoF - Heavy fundamental focus
Injustice - A lot of flash, juggle-heavy gameplay, a lot of single player content
BB/GG/SG/etc. - Anime style
TTT2 - Tag-based 3D fighter
SCV - 3D fighter with weapons

Just don't buy MK9. Injustice makes it irrelevant and is a decent game to boot. Buy whatever looks coolest to you, they're all very different games.

That game looks so crazy and chaotic though, I imagine it'd be a nightmare to get started on? :P
There are actually a couple newbies that joined the Marvel OT after Evo, so you might find folks on your level. And you said you wanted variety, so maybe one game that you get smashed at might not be too bad. ;-)

Of course Champ is going. Even if no one donates and he buys his plane ticket out of pocket, he still makes a profit from the 2v2 marvel exhibition.

http://www.abload.de/ has always been rock solid for me depending on what you need.
Is there a plugin that will translate the site anywhere?

abload is good because they don't compress pictures as much, but does it have the ability to make folders. organize photos and account stuff?

Can't even use my imgur because I used up all the viewable images you can have on it for the Marvel team maker post.

I'd rather they improve the dynamic to where it's more like traditional fighting game tournaments, but honestly, that's only to sate the viewers. They treat the players like professionals, that's where it needs to go.

Unless the FGC wants to remain insular and the same as it has always been. Always have da beech.
