The infinite would be hype as fuck since it's the first time we will see the infinite in an actual match.
Now if the infinite stick around for another 6 months then it gets boring.....
It'll get old the second time you see it in a match.
Ya I don't care if it's something only marlinpie-caliber players will be able to do at Evo. Soon as I see it I'm instantly against that player.

Josh 360 was still doing Iron Man infinite during 2011 and people were still chanting behind it.
Or when someone does Storm infinite on Sentinel... or the list goes on and on.
NY players especially always chant during that shit and it always got hype.

Seeing infinite at EVO is going to be VERY infrequent. Smart players won't risk new tech. Especially new tech that may be patched out. Time right now is better spent getting more experience against players with what they have now.
It is Marvel though. People have the tendency to want to style when they have something in the bag.

I'm sure breakable TAC infinites that give the victim almost as much meter as the user won't be as big of a deal as normal combos that killed you in one touch in the first place.
That being said, I'm glad these are being addressed. It'd be better if they just patched out TAC altogether though.

Yo gaf, I would like to hear your opinions on this matter. Try to be as unbiased as possible (that means sf fanboyism, losing to scrub western, etc). Do you think umvc3 is balanced (tac infinitesimal aside for now) or at least is it balanced as far as characters variety goes. Also, would you call umvc3 a random game?

as a guy who is not a top player, I think the game is naturally a little unbalanced and a little random, but not too much in either department. So far, every time a crazy roadblock team has come out, it has been beaten as people learn to play against it. Going into Evo, there are a lot of different people who are in position to take it, a bunch of unknown foreign competition, and a lot of variety in characters being played + variety in tactics, so it couldn't be more hype. It's a harsh and complex game, but not random.
Game isnt random. Game isnt "balanced" but had before TAC gate, 15-25 characters that were legitimate in top play.
