Fighting Games Weekly | May 26-June 1 | Thank you, Keits

So I guess we can rule out a Marvel game for Capcom's next project.

People were still holding out hope for that? They lost the rights to the license a while ago. Given how much Marvel micromanaged the project, though, I doubt Capcom would want to work with them again anyway. It's not like the games lit the world on fire sales-wise.

Well, damn.

Speaking of which, what was the divekick results? I didn't put them in the UFGT OT either... because I don't know what they are and the challonge bracket isn't complete.

Anybody help me fill it out?

I wouldn't expect a Marvel fighting game from Capcom any time in the near future. We were lucky we even got MvC 3.

Who's EH Jason?

And a new Marvel game aint comin, that's for sure. Maybe in another 10 years.

With how it seems like capcom is moving further and further away from console game development I'd be extremely surprised if they were still making fighting games 10 years from now, let alone another marvel game

Yeah. It's a bit disheartening to see them doubling down on mobile/social investment while they only have Dead Rising 3 and Deep Down on deck for current gen consoles (although E3 will likely change that). And they're hardly the only Japanese dev making similar moves.

I don't know why people here are afraid to call out P4U/2's stuff stupid. Like legit stupid.

Well, If you look at it this way. Using a Burst probably gets a player out of probably 4k damage if used right. Shadow characters sacrifice the ability to burst to add about the same amount of damage to their own combo. Doesn't seem *that* stupid :P

i can just get the info on srk. I don't use EH because of that stupid akuma adblock campaign they did.

I dont know why they thought that would work, if anything it drove more people away from the site. Even though they stopped, I think the damage had already been done.

I know it drove me back to SRK, which had improved in the meantime.

Only issue I have with it now is the rss feed seems a bit flakey. Posts seem to show up in a clump at later times (why I missed the UFGT results thread until now)

Between eventhubs adblock shit and SRK just plain not working I've made a habit of just using gaf for news.

I've done the same - the only time I visit either of those sites is off a link or when I reach the true end of the internet.

I feel like we have the best balance here between amusing gossip and actual interest in the games.

I just wish that interest was more evenly spread across the many games that are out there but hey

How is Divekick more community oriented than Skullgirls?

I don't really think it was Markman's intention to pit the two against each other when he made the statement. He's just defending divekick

My bad. I was trying to keep all the Challonge brackets up to date at the venue and I even loaded up the Divekick page once I received the paper bracket back, but I must have gotten distracted and forgot to update it. It's updated now. http://ufgt10.challonge.com/UFGTX_DK_Final
