Fanatiq: "ComboFiend has the potential to go through all eight. Knives has the potential to go through all eight. Infrit will probably go through... at least one."

I think people are giving Champ too much respect.

Well that's what I kinda thought too, then I saw him play post-EVO. I honestly think he's on another level now.

Ytwojay is okay in my book since he made it to top 8 at EVO, but lets be honest he got kind of lucky.
:<

It's a solid pick not only because Y2J is a consistent player but because of the Wolverine factor. Wolverine start of the round gives even Viper some trouble and of course Wolverine is a solid pick against Vergil too.
I'm not sure if that's much of a factor for Y2J because he might be the most defensive Wolverine in history.

I think players were staying low for awhile during the summer to improve and enjoy themselves. This 8v8 will be proof if Champ is truly in another level or not.

It's not going to prove anything since it's 2/3 single double elimination and not all the best players are present here.

If FChamp wins Seasons Beating convincingly then he is on another level. He is already the undisputed world champion of Marvel and even a few tournament/event losses wouldn't take away from this.

Wentinel consistently beats Richard Nguyen at UCI events and dominated TRB up until Evo. He also was the person who put Chris G in losers at UFGT8.

Ytwojay is just the happiest guy alive.

Both of them are old school MVC2 heads as well :)

Exactly all pre EVO. This is POST EVO. I watched almost all of that.... =)

Fanatiq just said NorCal has no wolverine/spencer. They have one that is at FGTV house all the freaking time in Billy XO.

Just a heads up to anyone getting TTT2: The game's install is 8 GB from what I've read online, does anyone know if it's mandatory?

There's maybe like, two Wolverines that I can think of. Mine and Corimon? But Mine doesn't really play Wolverine anymore I think. PR Balrog, but he's not NorCal enough yet.

To be honest from what I've seen out of Mine's Wolv his mixup is scarier than Ytwojay. I think ytwojay is probably the better wolverine player in general since he main him and Mine just play him on the side.

Billy's and Pr Balrog is just a little nuttier than YtwoJay. I don't think NorCal really need to *adjust* to YtwoJay.

James Chen over hyping Vergil for no real reason.

There are only 2 Vergil players on the Norcal team.

What makes Norcal Vergil different is the Strider pairing. I don't think it's the most optimum Vergil pairing but it destroys flyers and Zero teams.

I honestly think Champ is the
second
best in the world. His mental game is far too fucking strong, and I think people are not ready for that element. The mindgames and the playstyle adaptation is something that nobody on Team SoCal has, or even on that level. Combofiend is stubborn, Fanatiq just isn't on that level, and Infrit has been repeatedly broken post-EVO by FChamp.

I do agree with Fanatiq, it will come down to whoever can beat Champ, but it will be close. I can't call it confidently either way, but the safe option is NorCal because of Champ.

So many Striders in NorCal. I still don't think that Strider+Vergil is THAT strong, but it's still so damn dirty.

SoCal will look so silly if they lose the 8v8.

I mean... three evo 2012 top 8 placers? Fanatiq and Knives? Are you for real? I like NorCal and all... but seriously?

KOF = Norcal
UMVC3 = SoCal

Any other opinions are just fanboys trying to root for their favorite player.

Clock seems kind of like how yipes was up until recently- pulls off godlike stuff in longer sets but doesn't perform as consistently in shorter format stuff. I do think he has the potential to take out anybody from norcal, however. He's also still one of the only legitimate strider players too, so I'll be rooting for him.

How much do you like the Champ who's consistently burned through gauntlets of SoCal and NorCal players and has perhaps the most matchup experience of anyone in UMvC3?

Wasn't Norcal shut out by Bala, Reynald, and the other Socal players when they went to TRB?

Floe is live.

edit: IWBTG Fan Mini-Game: The EVO Championship Belt?

Looks like it's a skin/remix of IWBTG w/ fighting game pros folded into the gameplay.

Norcal has two top 8 evo placers and the current evo champion.

This isn't going to be free for either side.

On a tournament format, sure.

In a 8v8 format, though? Even if his run is flawless, NorCal can still lose.

Huh? The only dude from NorCal that made it to top 8 was Champ.

If you count the last two years. I wouldn't count X-Ray as one since vanilla and UMVC3 is different.

This. Also, no one remembers last year's EVO anymore, haha.
