Final Fantasy 3 DS screens

So wait are they still making Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles DS? Because this is obviosuly being made by the same team.

It's still listed. I'm thinking that game will have a longer development cycle to sync it with the Revolution FF:CC as there will almost certainly be some form of wireless connectivity going on for it.

They were both still listed in that Famitsu of a few weeks ago I believe. I imagine that both games will use the same engine. It appears that Square-Enix is quite the 3D powerhouse on DS.

Huh, it's nice but miles off being mistakeable for pre-rendered. But when are we going to get some direct feed screens and movies for this thing.

For the DS, the graphics look "too good". PSP i wouldn't second doubt it, but ds, i'm not so fure.

They look like pre-renders to me or a mix of polygonal elements a pre-rendered backgrounds.

Camera will likely be on a fixed perspective. The pictures aren't of high enough quality to tell for sure. Certainly the indoor shots could be redenred polygonally.

The 19-20% turned into just 5% after the merger? It's that big of a change?
it was 9-10% before the merger, I believe. And considering the merger was something like 60-40 Enix to Square, that would make Sony's stake 4-5% now.

it's 9% half of 18% that they used to own.. if memory serves me right

It was ~20% before the merger.

Anyway, FF3 looks VERY nice.

It's not half of what they used to own because the shares in the new company were 1:1.6 enix:square... it's exactly 8.62% now anyway.

Oh OK, only 5% now? but I guess thats still 5% more than nintendo own of them.

well Namco owns 3% or so.. does that mean SE needs to make games for them? And everyone seems to have forgotten about Project Q..

Nintendo owns Bandai and by extension Namco, although a much smaller percentage. Basically, you're going to need more than that to steer a company exclusively.

yep.

FF1+2 was remade for GBA, FF3 is being remade for DS, and FF5+6 is being remade for GBA. Was FF4 remade or being remade for any Nintendo handheld?

I'm still more interested in the FFVI port.

I don't know if I can stomach another try at FFVI. I've tried 3 times and I just can't make it to the end. Maybe if I had more time I'd be willing but I'm trying to deprioritise game time at the moment.

I don't think I'll bother with FFIV either 'cause I did beat that one, but I'm comtemplating FFV as I never got that far in it.

FFIII is looking too hot to pass up though (but still not getting the prerendered comments). Hopefully by the time it arrives Nintendo will have a new model DS out.
