Combovers don't work when there is no hair
They should. It would make the game different from everything else on consoles.
It would also make me refuse to buy the game. Random battles are shit and should stay back in the 90s.

OMG I'm crying that is amazing
'Noctis ouji! Noctis ouji!'
*starts doing squats*
Sephiroth!
*flails on floor*
Hahahahahahahaha
What if Nomura creates an alternate timeline where Aerith doesn't die?
I'm thinking what we might get for the battle system is something akin to XIII. ATB, but much more action packed and with character in motion.
I'd certainly hope we get a system which allows you to control all characters, not just one.I'm thinking what we might get for the battle system is something akin to XIII. ATB, but much more action packed and with character in motion.

I'm so glad Nomura realized what made original FFVII so darn good. And the answer gave me hope that it's still ATB turn-based, but with a more modern touch to it.
Random encounters are only a decent gameplay element in RPGs where resource management is an actual gameplay mechanic. FF7 was not such a game.
I'd certainly hope we get a system which allows you to control all characters, not just one.
Still on team FFX-2 ATB.
They are but you wouldn't really notice. You can install mods on pc quite easily that are pretty fun , difficulty, graphical etc. Also achievements. If you have the original disc version of the game (PC), is there any point in getting the Steam or PS4 versions? Is there any difference at all? I think i read something of them versions being upscaled or something.
I'm not saying everyone felt that way but after following the demand for years, I've never seen people say they would be okay with story and character aspects being changed or if there were they were a minority.I dont thin you should put things in people's mouths. In actuality, the only thing people wanted that they could agree on was FF7 for a new generation, redone. Everything outside of that is completely on a case by case basis.
We're not getting redone 2D towns in HD artwork that's for sure. So if people are expecting FF7 as it was, you better leave it at the door.
And that's completely fair for you to feel. I just don't think it's fair to say people aren't allowed to expect something else. We're posting in a 126-page thread that proves quite the contrary.
I'm personnally really glad Nomura intends on reimagining the game for the modern era.
The trailer, Nomura's comments on keeping the lighter parts, the new art direction, the willingness to modernize the gameplay. Everything hits the right spot for me so far.
Huh? To me, his answer seems like it definitely won't be classic ATB.
I still think having a "classic" mode for battle system would be a really smart course of action, since fans will be super upset otherwise.
And that's completely fair for you to feel. I just don't think it's fair to say people aren't allowed to expect something else.
There will be 5 stages of grief after the combat is revealed.
And that is something I can agree on!Fair enough!
I hope they succeed in satisfying as many people as possible.
Lmao. So true.
I knew that trailer music was familiar. It's from Advent Children.

Have we heard from our japanese friends, i'm curious about the reception over there
Have they announced which engine this will be using? Hopefully it's the one that powers FFXV because that looks lush.

Development began just after his withdrawal from FFXV project - September 2014
Gameblog did an interview with Nomura
- Development began just after his withdrawal from FFXV project - September 2014
- For the gameplay, he wants to take a different approach than the original game, while retaining iconic elements. He admits indeed the team do not want to ruin the original experience. For him, the biggest challenge is to change the elements that must be without spoiling the game. He believes that some aspects must necessarily be transformed as the evolution of the visual style of the characters are more realistic in the trailer.
- Kingdom Hearts III and FFVII R are developped by different team. FFVII R won't slow down the development of KH3
- The development of Kingdom Hearts III is at a relatively advanced level

so they just start development last year. Shit it bet they still in pre-production phase. My hope for 2017 20th aniversary is broken![]()

All signs point to the remake being developed with the help of CyberConnect2 with the Unreal engine.
Nothing's official yet.
2018 is still a safer bet though. There's plenty of room to market as such, too:
"Cloud was born 21 years ago."
Latch on to that in enough witty ways and it still makes a decent statement.

On the date the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake began, Nomura declined to disclose specific period.
That said, we still had indicated that the development of this remake started after leaving the Final Fantasy XV team. The latter having been announced in September 2014, this means that FF VII remake would be in development since less than a year.
There's that and I want them taking as much time as they need.
I don't really care about meeting the anniversary date.
You need to remove this since it is not a fact, just an assumption of the article writer.
In case anyone is wondering, I just checked the original interview and this is just an assumption and not a fact. Here is what the translation says:
Probably the best news out of this. I know we won't be seeing FF7 for a good long while, but it's heartening to hear they've been making good progress on KH3. Maybe that late 2016 to 2017 release date might not be as much of a stretch as I thought.
Depends on what SE thinks "relatively advanced" means. To me that would sound like more than halfway done.
To SE it might be: "Damn right it's advanced, we've even got people working on it now!"

A demo for the anniversary would be great. We migt get another trailer which is more realistic.
I just hope they don't implement ff13 style battle system.
