It seems to build up whenever they get hits.
Wtf is the limit bar then lol.
It's kind of useless to try to dissect the combat system from an incomplete game functioning on incomplete assets and incomplete features.

seriously. shit is nutsI'm starting to feel like the 20 years of people claiming FFVII is the best game they've ever played are all in my head or something, when we have self proclaimed huge fans bending over backwards to brag about how much they hated the hours and hours of time they put into beating the original.
I think the litmus test to whether this game will be ass or great is if Genesis appears in this game. And how much he appears in the game.
I'm giddy just thinking about how the Weapons will look. And Costa Del Sol, Wutai, Icicle Inn, Junon, the Seventh Heaven... so many iconic locales.
It is not FFXV-esque imo, but more like Kingdom Hearts, like how Versus XIII was![]()
The fact that you add how much he is in this game leads me to think you want him in the game. Any mention of Genesis should be considered a failure.I think the litmus test to whether this game will be ass or great is if Genesis appears in this game. And how much he appears in the game.

Wish we could get another FF game with the battle system of FFX.
Yeah, I'm pausing frame by frame, literally, to find random shit.

It was just on the same stream of the keynote where the guy is interviewing developers and showing trailers in between developer interviews.

Start at around the 6 minute mark. The video is right before Ted Price gets interviewed.

What is this from?
I'm in the same boat.
I'm more scared that they'll drop Genesis or Deep Ground in the game somewhere, now that will make me throw Bitch Fit Fest 2016.
But so far everything in regards to the original scenario has been incredibly faithful, even down to small insignificant shit like Cloud flipping off the train.

I just beat the game again last year and absolutely adored it.
Stop speaking in absolutes with this "vast majority" stuff. We don't know that because all we have to go on are biased polls.
And I'll say it again, how is the sheer amount of materia actions going to work with a frantic battle system. You can't be scrolling through them and you sure as hell can't map them to face buttons.
The distinction is pretty meaningless in my eyes. What's most striking to me is its seem they not goes open-world
just seemingly interconnected hub

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015...emake-details-original-launches-today-on-ps4/So gameplay is probably what you really wanted to know about since the games announcement. The new trailer gave you a glimpse into how Final Fantasy VII Remake will play and youre probably thinking that it has changed quite a bit. It definitely looks more action oriented and has a real feeling of speed. Theres a lot going on in the trailer so hopefully you managed to pick out all of the details.
I should point out that all of the footage shown of Final Fantasy VII Remake is work in progress footage so the final game may look slightly different to what you saw. Oh, and Im sure you recognize it but the music featured in the trailer is the Opening Bombing Mission from Distant Worlds: music from Final Fantasy.
We've literally only seen the first arc of FFVII, which is set in one sector in Midgar... the original game is extremely linear up until you reach Shinra HQ (and it becomes even further explorable once you leave Midgar, obviously). What's most striking to me is its seem they not goes open-world

To me, that would be the ideal solution. Otherwise, it's going to be impossible to juggle between spells and items and attacks. Hell, trying to get the right spell/item used in a critical time during ATB can be tricky at times. Real-time would be hell in those situations.
The originals combat system was just "okay". Maybe if there was some regular difficulty that forced people to strategise more than stacking attack and a few materia combos I'd like it more, but as it stands it's just serviceable.like so many have already pointed out, if you supposedly loved VII but hated its gameplay, or "shit battle system" something is wrong there.

None of us have played this new combat system or seen what kind of encounters they have planned. It could be amazing. I prefer to wait and see.
I just flat out disagree that the combat system employed in the original was what caused it to be successful, was what people remember the most about the game, and is what must absolutely be preserved in this remake in order for it not to be completely different. I think that's completely wrong. As you say, it was pretty barebones and nothing special. It was fine, of course, but even at the time people were complaining about how it was kind of dumbed down compared to other JRPGs.
