So instead of using both Tiliths, why not use a Refia and a Tilith? Or look for other sources of buffs? I usually only cast buffs manually first turn, then use Cecil's LB for buffs afterwards. WoL 6* has Refia's Embolden, and Delita has Meditate for MAG/SPR (with mana regen when enhanced too).
The problem with Delita is that if the enemy's DEF or SPR is not breakable, then Meditate is all he really would bring to the table, but hey, when I field Queen all she ever does is cast Mana Martyr.

How good is Vargas as a breaker btw? With his materia Breaker breaking all stats for all enemies.

I was wondering if anyone could clarify something for me. The 5* guaranteed 5k lapis pull, can we only do that once?
Also, is it best to save tickets for the rikku banner, anniversary possibilities, or blow em now? I only have 22 tickets, but enough lapis for that 5* pull. on a side note, I'd like to join the ranks of those worthy to have an Oldmandu since I did not reroll endlessly for him...

His break is full break (all 4 types at once), but only 30% reduction which doesn't quite cut it in the current meta. Other problem is that you waste a materia slot to equip it.
I'm fairly sure he's best built as a fire element chain finisher.

I have Altema up but wish there was a way to sort. I guess page I have bookmarked is their ranking but I need a quick way to sort so I can compare these alien creatures to what I have.

Sadly it is, there's a lot of fire imperil out there these days, so it's not awful, but his best move is tied to fire at a base level. Kinda like Fohlen for Wind.

Excal is great, don't get me wrong. Got one recently and Orlandu is loving it. However, wasting 5% of Trust when the 10% ones you don't have flowing all over the place seems like a waste. (Especially since they like giving out 1%s now.) Have you gotten the 1%'s from Mog King?
I got the 10% from the Mog King and FFV event, just trying to scounge up enough for the remainin 5 x 1% ones.

Yeah, I have pulled probably 20+ rainbows total in the rerolls I have done. Just haven't got a combination that I liked yet.
Need CG Fina or Ayaka and at least one P. Damage.

Time to grind expeditions for that +40% all stats materia*

-- 40% materia requires a ludicrous amount of runs to obtain (as mentioned by others)
-- 40% materia requires a slightly less ludicrous amount of S-tier runs at 3 days apiece, therefore ensuring that no one can possibly complete it in less than a full year from now at perfect efficiency.
-- Ultimate evil: Requires a ludicrous number of runs, that is practically impossible **ever** to compete outside spamming short D-tier runs for over a year. Therefore the player would have to give up all meaningful exploration rewards and hardcore grind crap-tier potions for a year to have any shot of obtaining the materia in the lifetime of the game.
Changes in the picture from the what was presented at E3:
-- Like Mog King, "bonus units" exist now for explorations. Oh boy.
-- Number of concurrent expeditions reduced from 5 to 4?
-- Chamber of Experience ADV Unit XP rewards? 548,197 King Mintaurs yawn in boredom.
-- Required units not mentioned? Mysteriously S and A tier missions were missing in the latest screenshot.
-- Implication that rare materials will have to be spent to ensure 100% success rate. Get ready for S-tier missions to require bottleneck awakening items, such as Holy Crystals, to complete.
Can't wait to see what other shenanigans are being hidden in the new system on Thursday.
It would be annoying to TM farm having to transfer all the time, but I agree it would be better than have your account dependent on your Facebook. Right now if you exclude your Facebook or get suspended for whatever the reason, you won't be able to play anymore.
I mean, the item is called +4... We probably get a normal for 5% or something, +1 goes to 10, then 20 30 40... it's just showing you the final reward to entice you. Let's be honest it did, question now becomes how much effort to obtain... (and can it be lapised through)

Yeah, I'm kind of scared at what this Expedition system is supposed to "solve", if it is not something to compete against Earth Shrine TM farming (they have not mentioned TM%s regarding Expedition)

Don't know why some of you aren't considering the possiblity of them simply upgrading WoL and possibly Garland despite not having them in a banner. They could get their upgrades on the Thursday of the FFX banner week with the FFX event and units hitting the next day.
On that note, fuck yes to FFX coming right after the Anny after all! That was 50% of what I hoped to hear at the E3 event. There was a lot to take in and I'm looking forward to seeing how some of these new features play out and if the 5* banner is actually a free pull. I'm anxious like a few here to see how the slot increases are going to shake out, I was looking forward to that more than just about anything else in the game. I'm so ready to go all out on the FFX banner. I think I can hit 60k lapis at least by then and probably in the 140's in tickets. If I can land Tidus and Rikku, especially with a pending WoL upgrade, it will completely overhaul my team so I can handle the more difficult content in the game at last. I should then be set until I look to upgrade Refia with either Ayakya or Season 2 Fina. Hype!

Thanks to all of you for your input.
To start, here are my responses to those questions:
1) Refills? No, but thinking about it towards the end of the event. Pushing an important set of TMs to completion that are close to being finished is taking priortity.
2) Is the event a fluke? Absolutely not. It's a data point for Gumi. Logic will be presented in the body of the post.
3) When will this be a norm and not exciting? Hard to read the tea leaves here. Two possible routes here, which I believe the path taken will be dependent on the results of the current Mog King in terms of refreshing/lapis spent on it. Personally, I'm skeptical that this level of currency generosity will be repeated again on the next event.
What I believe is going on (or looking at the situation through the cold B-school perspective):
Personally, I believe that Gumi is measuring the lapis spending in this event versus the last event to determine the optimum path for them to take regarding Mog King events in the future.
In the last event, dungeon run costs were doubled, as well as base rewards, from previous Mog King events. Yet, bonus mob rates and payouts were not doubled and kept at old rates. Likely, Gumi's data was reporting that at previous dungeon run costs, the average player that was sticking with the game was not using up all of their energy because of obtaining a substantial sized capacity through leveling up. From Gumi's perspective, this is bad on two fronts. First, if players aren't running out of energy, then there is no reason to refill. Second, for some players, never running out of energy could mean a lack of feeling of accomplishment because they can never truly "finish" a farming run, resulting in frustration and possibly abandonment of the game (talking about casual players here, not GAFers). By doubling costs and base benefits, Gumi likely hoped to appease the casual crowd by making it easier to finish their farming runs, while inducing the more dedicated crowd to refresh by starving them of playtime through halving the number of runs they could do a day for free. For the more serious crowd, I believe this backfired hard. There were many posts on Reddit and on GAF on how the dedicated crowd also enjoyed the speeding up of their farming runs so that they could move onto something else. Pretty sure that was a backfire that Gumi wasn't expecting.
So, fast forward to this event. Costs and base benefits still doubled, but now bonus rates are doubled as well as their base payout. As a further bonus, as this is a collab re-do, old units were allowed to carry over to this event to help players farm currency even more effectively. For the veterans on GAF that are still here from the first event, this is practically a match made in heaven. For the newer players, it's still the standard praying to RNGesus, even more so because of the lack of any blue-tier bonus units.
The big question that Gumi is looking at now is swinging the currency pendulum from stingy to overly generous in a single event, will players refill NOW?
Responses from the posts were wide ranging, from "Yes" to "maybe" to "never". This is intriguing, because different segments of the server population are reaching varying conclusions about what to make of the situation.
-- Some see this as an opportunity to gain greater rewards from a Mog King than they would normally receive and are cashing in on the opportunity they perceive.
-- Others are on the fence and re-assessing their position in the event closer to it's end to determine how many refreshes (if any) are needed to get the rewards they desire.
-- Minimalists are unmoved by these changes because they already are obtaining the few choice items they desire from Mog King using just a 100% friend helper. Therefore, as they are already obtaining what they desire, increasing currency or bonus rates is not compelling to them.
What about the future then? Nice things are nice, and all that. But if everything is sunshine and roses constantly, then people will start to expect such generosity as the norm and will no longer be swayed or compelled to act without further sweeteners. From the responses, most were skeptical about such generosity to continue at these levels in the future.
I tend to agree with that skepticism. The likely next step for Gumi is to dial back the rewards somewhat and assess how much less of a response from the playerbase is generated. Every now and then, a generous event like this one will pop up. But, these events should be the exception and not the norm to avoid the playerbase expecting these rates as the barest "acceptable" minimums moving forward.
All that said, the proof in the pudding will be how the next Mog King plays out, and if Global gets another FFZ-3 debacle, a BF-2 moneybin, or something in-between on how Gumi is interpreting the performance of Global's playerbase.
Then again, who knows when WoL 6* is coming out, and given the general theme of how Gumi is handing enhancements, Ramza won't be enhanced until a unit with better base abilities comes out. That's Roy, and based on JP release schedule, that's 5 full months away. Add one month for Roy to dominate before releasing the older unit's enhancements (like Wilhelm --> WoL), and we're talking six full months before even thinking about Ramza's enhancements coming out on Global.

If I remember right, she just mentioned that WoL 6* was going to be mentioned on-stream.
Technically, the devs did.... with the vaguely nebulous "June" response that is turning into the mother of all troll responses. Everyone jumped to the fallacious conclusion that this meant that 6* WoL was coming in the next patch.
So, from a a most literal perspective, she didn't lie and neither did the devs (yet). Still, the situation stinks to high hell though and they have to be laughing their asses off over the frothing of Global over WoL.
Devs lied, she is the dev's plug and only person that could explain what is going on. Yes, he could still come together with FFX banner, and that doesn't mean he will be on banner as almost all characters that got an upgrade didn't receive another banner, but I prefer to stay pessimist and receive a good surprise in two weeks.
This whole WoL thing has been a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone.
I agree with most of your points. There is another aspect you didn't bring up though. The event items this time around are quite expensive, almost 100k. It's a sharp contrast to the last events like Battle of Judecca which had 14k worth of unique items, or Floating Continent which had 13k. Gumi may have increased the rate simply because people wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise.
Adventurer materia's closest point of comparison is a Ring of Domination and you should adjust your expectations on acquiring it with that in mind.
A 'Maxwell Destroyers' banner would be as good a time as any to release both WoL6 (100% light res tank with breaks/guards) and Garland6 (dark imperil, semi-decent dark damage, honestly kind of worthless but hey maybe he'll get GL enhancements).

Forgot to say I didn't refresh and absolutely don't plan to, I mean I can get everything in the shop easy peasy with like 250k currency in less than 4 days

Uhh what? Do you have like 600% bonus? With every other run being triple gods? I'm not seeing that number as legit...
With 500% I got a bit less than that so I think it's pretty reasonable. I barely got any Metal Gods on day two also, that apart, their spawn is pretty consistent.

Correct. 7 and 8 are both the worst represented games in the series in FFBE. 1 total unit between the two games. No clue when more will come, but I wouldn't be shocked if they hold certain ones like Sephiroth hostage for when they need a boost in sales. Still surprised they actually released Cloud. Like a carrot on a stick.

Yeah, surprised they released him too. But probably because they'll save Sephiroth from that game to be the badass from that one. While I didn't enjoy 8, I wouldn't mind seeing the characters. It's like they don't want to introduce characters unless it's crappy made up ones for BE. ;_; I'd also be happy at this point just some old characters getting love. I mean, for Thunder God Cid's sake, fix poor Sabin.

You are right that I did not cover that, as I was focusing mainly on lapis refilling. Though, yes, quality items on Mog could induce someone to spend if they think they aren't going to obtain them by normal means by the end of the event.
Although, Global has had multiple expensive equipments before. Remember the 50k katana? The currency drops weren't anywhere near as generous on that event as it is with this one. I suppose if one counts currency "inflation" (for lack of a better term), 98k for all 5 event equipments (2 are decent, 3 are excellent) might be a rough equivalent in terms of ELT farming effort.
